Fun fact about national parks I discovered on accident one day. If one of the tiles of the national park is at the 4th ring of a city, you can settle inside the national park and it doesn't destroy it

Out of all the management minigames in Civ VI, national parks are undoubtedly my favorite. I love beautifying my empire, planting all those trees, watching that appeal get better and better, then finally placing the perfect national park. Line it up with a preserve, play as Teddy, and get those sweet, sweet yields.
little tip i found about canada recently, may be well known so i might just look like an ass by saying this lol. but the 100% diplo favor from emergencies and competitions also applies to promises. if you forward settle somebody in ancient era you can’t get 60 diplo favor per apology and really stack it up for gold come classical. not gamebreaking or anything but really handy and synergizes well with tundra purchase discount imo

Boes I never see you use spies in your games. Can we get an all-out spy game? Something like Black Queen Catherine, Inteligence Agency, Owls
yeah i rarely use them, albeit i probably can now. it was mostly because in the previous patch the AI RARELY built com hubs so it was very useless to spy on them. additionally building spies generally wasn't worth it for me except to counterspy in my cap~

I honestly love the monopilies and corporations game mode because of industries, corporations, and products being fun, if overpowered additions to the game, but man is the tourism modifier overkill by a lot. I use a mod to make the criteria for it way higher (it's base 60%, I bump it up to 80%) so it's still possible, but makes it so that if you expand a bunch you don't suddenly "triple" your tourism.
I think it would be fun to combine Russia's abilities and Canada's to make a Tundra Powerhouse! Would be a bit too easy maybe

I did a game where I combined the Dutch or Japanese Ability, the Hansa, and either Jayavarman, Joao, Tokugawa, or Alexander, depending on the kind of game that I want to play. It's absolutely nuts - 100% recommend trying it.
The reason you can't national park most water tiles isn't because they're specifically excluded, it's because they have no appeal, however natural wonders always do so you can put a national park on those
I thought of that blitz game before, you could add the marae as unique infrastructure for extra forest culture
It would be nice to see a civ mix game but it would need a suitable drawing of the mixed leader
If you ever plan to do another Canada playthrough, I recommend trying out Preserves.
As you've demonstrated, Tundra is primo National Park real estate, and Preserves in the late game can give those otherwise unimproveable tiles some hefty yields.
I think my last Canada game was a preserve only one? I'd have to actually look at my videos. It was NOT, but I have played Preserve Only Canada before on stream, it was right when they released the buff that gave Mounties the +2 National Parks
Using Nzinga for a culture victory is pretty fun. So many great person points and with the global voting you can get lucky and double your tourism from great writing sometimes.
yep, when im finding myself bored of civ or struggling for enjoyable games i just create a game with canada and have an easy win to get myself back into it
Playing with abundant resources in a way nerfs monopoly and corporations since it's harder to make a monopoly with so many lux copies
I'm almost tempted to watch a playthrough where you mute the sound effects, and replace it with yourself doing them instead.

I don't understand why people don't use Reyna with Forestry Management promotion in cities that are just one huge National Park. She literally *DOUBLES* the area appeal granted by forests for just a level 1 promotion, which means she can double the Tourism of the National Parks since it is based on the Park's appeal. I say "almost" because it doesn't work on mountains and mountains often used for National Parks. She also gives +2 gold for every forest in the national park as a small little bonus which is good since they cannot be improved anyways

Considering all the gold cheating I wonder if my win on 199 was "better or worse" than yours.
I went a bit of a different route though, without holy sites but quite a few harbors for lots of gold. No monumentalities for me, but I figured with the insane food/production yields from the capital I can just spam settlers from there (and gold buy others).
I miss a preserve game... preserve yealds are so odly beatiful to see

I'm not a fan of Rockbands either. I find them really annoying so I installed a mod which excludes Rockbands from the game. :)
Great tourism game. Quick question, why didn’t you get Reyna? I think if you got her in Victoria with her Appeal from Features bonus you could have generated somewhere between 80-100 extra tourism from that city.

true the AI is awful, i generally take him out of games because of this i just forgot haha.

Question: You were suzzed to Caguana for nearly the entire game, why not build bateys considering the number of bonus resources (all those deer) at your start? [I would venture to guess cause you bee-lined steel over flight]
Eh it was mostly I tend to not use em a lot, I could have for sure but I feel like the tundra yields from Canada's abilities almost override the Batey yields
But yeah also going to Steel instead of Flight was a big factor too

why don't you stay in a tier 2 government for no tourism penalty?
mostly because i didn't necessarily care too much about it this game - if i was playing a normal tourism game trying to win as fast as possible i would have stayed as long as possible and until the output of tourism from rockbands + tourism modifier policy cards outweighed the negative tourism penalty~
