  • A music video for the opening sequence of Moulin Rouge (1952) - a favorite of mine. NO COPYRIGHT OR OWNERSHIP IMPLIED (c'mon people, this 64 year-old film won't see the light of day again just because someone said the "N" word in it).

I think the smaller of the two males is Tutte Lemkov who I believe also played the Fiddler in the film of Fiddler on the Roof

Moulin Rouge is not in Lemkov's film list on Wikipedia. Also, there's 21 years between Moulin Rouge and the film version of Fiddler, so I think the actor (uncredited) in Moulin Rouge would have looked somewhat older by 1971.

@@cpnscarlet Apologies but will have to correct you as he is indeed in Moulin Rouge and cast as Arliennes partner Also in the full cast list is the actress Mary Clare who played the Nun in high heels in Hitchcocks The lady vanishes With regard to Tutte he has one of those faces that are unmistakable Wikipedia is not always a reliable source as it relies on people feeding it with information.
I believe he also made a short appearance in Brian Forbes the Wrong Box.

@@siegfried923 No it's not always. Where did you find his name in a cast list? Was it in the movie credits?

The Dancer in the polka dot dress was Katherine Kath-a former prima ballerina from France who turned actress. She lived to be 92 when she passed in 2012.

That was true entertainment to see live, not the bullshit now, entertainers who actually earned money to live every night from rich patrons

Agreed, but you'd have to complain to John Huston for that. And he's dead. I hope you at least like my "tribute" video. I love the Quadrille music and dance.

Officially, she is saying "dirty-necked Algerian". But with a French accent, and 1950's monotrack, it... does not sound great. Yikes.

Muriel Smith is the dancer in the orange dress. She’s African American and was born in New York City. She was also the ghost singer for Zsa Zsa Gabor’s opening song.
