I believe coach Grimmy was trying out a system around Bailey, hence he desperately needs him....Grimmy in Jamaica when a man a look a girl and she turn him down so many times, we tell her move up and we move on....Replicate this Coach Grimmy

Unoh leave Leon Bailey alone, he asked for a break from international football long before the squad was named. He needs some time for himself and his family

If we only concentrate on Butler & Leon then the status quo will remain. We have to be willing to recognize that a paradigm shift is needed. Butler explained that Leon, since 2016, has not had a break and as such has asked for this over-due vacation. Other players (,Pinnock, Hutchinson, Antonio, Roofe, Jamal Lowe et al) have all taken time off for one reason or the other and we have not lambasted them for it. I think we are allowing our dislike for Butler to cloud the issues at hand. The civil rights movement was not popular among millions of people, but out of that ordeal and those demonstrations came amelioration and a better way of life for the oppressed. Butler is highlighting the fact that the conditions under which the players are asked to represent the country need to be brought up to the global standards. Now, do I like the way the camp is going about it? No. I think both camps need to come to a compromise and meet each other half way as baby steps are taken to improve conditions. Certainly, Mr Butler's cry to have Mr Speid removed is not logical. Mr Speid's position, one must acknowledge, is one of an elected post as opposed to having been assigned. And to boot, Mr Speid works and has done much for football locally. So, while we look on and take sides (as human beings do) let's do some deeper analysis into what are being asked for. The player, while not at his best when playing for Jamaica, has stated his love and commitment for Jamaica on many occasions. Let him have his break and come back when he is ready. I leave everyone with this question to chew on: Has Leon ever been paid over the years for the games he played for Jamaica?

The question you asked at the end can be asked regarding ANY player. So, if you don't have any tangible basis to ask about any other player, then do not shift Bailey into that position and then try to use him as the scapegoat for whatever it is you're attempting to insinuate. And, as to your opening comments: If Bailey has not taken a break since 2016, as you seem to believe, then who's fault is that? Is that our fault? What does he do in his time off when the season comes to an end? And I bet you don't know that he has been playing for Jamaica since 2019, and not 2016 as Butler is erroneously trying to have us believe. This year, for example, his season ended on May 19. So, if Copa commences on June 22, how exactly, within that time-frame, is he prevented from journeying to Disney Land, if he so desires? I suggest you pay careful attention to the fact that Butler is talking out of two sides of his mouth. Butler has also shown himself over the years to be a compulsive liar, as well as one who has the tendency to grossly exaggerate. It should stand out like a huge billboard - if its' about time off, then why the requirements and conditions? And why the unavailability of Whisper Richards, who's from the same camp? Another thing: The statement that other players have taken time off but that somehow Bailey is being "lambasted" for it. Don't be ridiculous. Players take time off for injuries and other mandatory stuff. I can reference a case where Ethan Pinnock pulled out of a game because his wife had given birth. There clearly is a thing with Antonio and a load management stipulation by his club. NOBODY takes any time off to go to DIsney Land, or for any other frivolous-sounding reason. The man even has a party on June 21, which, in the event that he was a part of the Copa team, would have taken precedence over his availability for the opening game of the tournament? What other players have you seen this kind of ridiculous nonsense with please? The fact that his availability to play for Jamaica actually commenced with drama back in 2019 - when Butler wanted to stick up the federation to include his son, Kyle, in the team also. And just this year Bailey basically said, in an interview, that Jamaica can't do anything for him. Butler was there on Sportsmax trying to spin-doctor the comment. And the fact that all of this drama began after the coach suspended Bailey from the Nations League semi-final against the USA. Frankly, I do not see how any rational, well functioning person can be understanding towards Bailey (and Butler) in any way. I don't get it one bit.

@@Its_I_Ziggyman Wow! That was a marathon. Understand though, that there will always be two sets of people on this Bailey issue: those who agree with him and those who disagree. There is a word for it; it's called Life We have seen players refusing over the years for one reason or the another. Michael Laudrup (Denmark), Ben White (England), Guillermo Ochoa (Mexico), Johan Cruyff (Netherlands) Samuel Etoo (Cameron), Juan Riquelme (Argentina) among many others had reasons at one time or another to refuse call-ups and no one batted an eye. Above all else I pray that Bailey Will fix his mental issues and find his way back into the ReggaeBoyz STAT.
