Did Coach Hallgrimisson DISS JAMAICA and the Jamaica Football Federation?

There is a reasonably well-held view out there that Coach Hallgrimsson dissed the Jamaican team, JFF and the football fans when he left suddenly, and word came that he had taken over the spot with the Ireland National team.
Was this an expected development?
