Catelyn had to restrain herself
A lot of people are saying Caitlyn started the war. The war started after her son was thrown out a window, someone attempted to assassinate him, and then Ned dying because of his own naivete on how ruthless and stupid Cersei/Jofferey/Littlefinger could be.
The war started when Ned publicly claimed that Tyrion, another lord Paramount's son, was abducted on his orders.
Not to mention that taking Tyrion hostage may have actually worked out, if not for Lysa.
But releasing Jaime was one of the biggest blunders of the books though.
I don’t think her other actions were unreasonable.
Even advising Ned to trust Littlefinger, wasn’t necessarily going to doom Ned. Because LF was actually legit giving him good advice for a while.
Ned just didn’t take it.
@@TheRealRightPriceactually I have to say the assassination attempt on her son what really started the war. If little finger had not lied about the knife that he stole then the war would have not started and maybe Ned have been encouraged on the ideal about Jeffrey's birth.
@attiepollard7847 If it wasn't that it was Lysa and LF sending that letter. It wasn't a big bang no, but it basically started the whole events in the story that affected all the characters after.
Let's face it, conflict was inevitable as soon as Jon Arryn was backstabbed by his own wife. Littlefinger & Lysa mightn't have meant for it to spill out to full-on war, but they were the catalyst.

The context of the line was not meant to be interpreted as a genuine compliment on his looks dude, its to highlight the duality of his depravity and his conventional positive "looks" i don't think it's meant to me she was knocked head over heels after seeing him....

Jaime will probably be killed by Stoneheart but resurrected by Thoros because he sees him in his flames, fighting the Others, or Euron, or Cersei. As a fire wight (he'll be hotter xd), he will have his golden hand liquid and fused in living red white (like Victarion's hand being burned and hot because of his infected wounds) recovering his old fighting skills and increased in speed like Beric's or in strength like Vic's. He will fight injustices in the River and Western Lands and probably even the Reach, and then even joining Sansa as queen in her quest to Kingslanding to reclaim justice for his father and his servents (she is the one that has a direct rivalry with her and the most motives to kill her, considering how she was manipulated and held hostage by Cersei and her son tortured her for an entire year, even menacing Sansa to r*pe her), falling both in love (she is younger and more beautiful than Cersei, so this new queen will take everything that the old one holds precious, wich means, she will take not only her power, her family's castle (yeah she probably will take Casterly Rock in vengeance), her 'most beautiful woman in the realm' status and of course, Jaime's love, (being the ultimate steep in his redemption arc, and considering how strong, powerful and smart Sansa will end up becoming thanks to her training with Littlefinger, she is very likely to be his last love interest before he dies (it would even match the song that we all have related to Jon (i loved a woman with red hair (Ygritte/Sansa, with silver hair (Dany/Brienne) and golden hair (Val/Cersei)). With all of this, and probably after she burns Kingslanding, marry Euron, i don't know, he will realize that his sister has to be stopped, and strangles her, with his flesh hand, and with his gold hand, indirectly and unwillingly acomplishing Tyrion's menace: 'one day your happiness will become ashes in your mouth.'
That scene was amazing in the books. It was like someone interviewing a demon. lol So GRRM rose to the challenge and said to himself "this vile man, you're gonna love him by the end!".

No, Ned did by threatening Catelyn and being too naïve. Ned was a good man, but a poor statesman. Catelyn should have never been placed in the position in the first place.
@@Blurghity no, she did. She started because of a stupid reason. She wanted Jon out of winterfell, so she cooked up a plan with meister luwin to insure that it happens. Nobody told her to take Tyrion at the crossroads, and she never delivered the message to rob like she was supposed to... I can go on and on about this, but the point remains that she's an idiot whom started a war because she was worried that Jon had a better claim to winterfell then her own children.

I would say the best acting by a female in the show was Lady Terrell, then Brianne of Tarth, then Aria, then circé, then Sansa…. Caitlyn is way down the list and to boot she’s very unattractive for Ned who was very handsome…

Jamie is handsome but not a good man
He's a very good man actually. Everything Jaime did can be explained quite easily. Being with his sister doesn't make him evil, it's who he loves. Tossing Bran from the window is the only thing he's shown to do that's morally dark gray in the book series. Not much different than killing a child with a bomb strapped to them. He did it to save the lives of his loved ones. Not because he gets off on that sort of thing.
Jaime did nothing wrong. Selmy was the evil Kingsguard, he would've let King's Landing burn to protect his oath. Robert was evil, he looked the other way at many evils like the murder of children because who their parents were and even tried to have them killed himself. Also he would've cheated on Lyanna if he married her, a drunken adulterer through and through.
Catelyn was the dumbest character in the series. Sansa was her heir cause they were both just as stupid.
How was she dumber than Cersei?
Cersei made lots of mistakes. She just gets bailed out by Tywin, LF, Tyrion.
Releasing Jaime was a big mistake, but I think her other actions were defensible.
Remember that it was Lysa who cost her Tyrion as a hostage.
If she’d been able to keep Tyrion as a hostage, Tywin would have been in a tough spot. Tyrion was legally his heir, even if Tywin seemed delusional about it.
Definitely NOT as thick as Janos Slynt, or Brightflame! Cat just let her emotions rule her head too much.
