He's promoting and trying to sell his wine. This was more of an infomercial than personal interview. The only reason his wine sells is simply because of who he is and if he wants it to continue to sell he needs to keep making music.
I know wine makers that have spent their lives making it and can't sell it all. I know many brewers that make great beer, but a great beer doesn't sell itself. He could sell nearly anything by celebrity alone, but he needs to promote it.
These wines sell out and it has nothing to do with quality or taste. People are collecting them or simply want to see what they're like. Then you have investors who buy cases to sell to collecltors. Once they sell out, the value to collectors raises the value.
He's sellimg celebrity in a bottle, because these wines are no better than average.

What I learned and loved from living in Italy and from the amazingly beautiful culture of the Italian people...
They know how to live slower. They drink more water, better coffee, better food, less fast food, junk food, sugary food, they walk more, spend more quality time with family and friends, they enjoy being outside in real nature (not conditioned nature) more, they have a stronger appreciation of culture and community. It's truly wonderful and something we all should adapt to our lives

and mjk wants to create a network, a collective, of like-minded (driven) creatives. sustainability, simplicity, moving forward. seems jerome's already on its way. the entire point of this "work" ...um, "series" ...and his "blood into wine" documentary for that matter ...is meant to inspire people to bring out the flavor or their own time and space, set and setting. if you happen to be from the area, and are interested in adding to the nature, nurture, and overall character of the scene, then hit him up. if he were trying all this in new england, you better believe i'd angle myself to help the caduceus cause directly. don't half-ass it. the entire point of it is to take advantage of an opportunity to make "opportunity" a well-spring for inspiration, expression, and creativity.

This is a commercial, and an investment. He's doing what all artists do, they create a rich tapestry to push a product. The breathtaking ultra perfect godlike talented work doesn't sell, unless it has some story behind it. Meanwhile, the inkblot sells billions because it has some half witted bs story behind it. Don't get me wrong, Maynard is incredible. But he's still just selling a product. He doesn't need struggle, and diversity for his artistic expression, that can be outsourced to writers that will sell him masterpieces for a dime. In reality, he's in his 50s, and that beautiful voice won't last forever. He's diversifying his portfolio of investments.

I know he hates for someone to idolize another, but I can't imagine not, in his case.
