    While doing any movements that involve the lower back, bend your knees (even a little bit) - that prevents your spine from kinking and causing lower back pain, it works, even with side-bends ...

    Hey guys, it does work, you can try it for a week and you’ll see the difference but just don’t do it right after eating otherwise you’ll end up throwing up. Give at least two hours after eating. Best time to do it is as soon as you wake up in the morning. Literally you can do it anytime, anywhere. It also helps with bowel movement. It’s actually really good..

    I found that sitting on one of those kneeling -type chairs and doing this exercise is just as effective as standing. I'm 75 and this is ideal for me.

    Wow! That little reverse sit up is the best exercise I’ve ever come across. I’m not kidding. No equipment, you don’t need a lot of space, OR time! So easy!
    I only did it like 10 times and I already feel it! I haven’t felt my lower ab muscles in like 2.5 years(baby) and I felt it almost immediately. And usually can do about 20 of almost anything before I can actually start to feel the burn. 🔥
    So happy that I stumbled upon this video!🙌🏻

    Reverse sit ups are awesome, I lost 9kg only by doing reverse sit ups when I decided I've had enough of my fat butt. Later I started to use an indoor cycle and completely forgot about reverse sit ups for some reason. I'm 35kg lighter now than last year, but I still have a lot of work to do in the belly area so I'll definitely do reverse sit ups again. It was so much fun to see my friends' reactions when the covid restrictions were lifted and they saw my progress for the firsf time.

      Depending on your situation, body, health, and activity... you can go up to 50 grams of carbs (clean carbs). I'd say 10 grams is maybe more for people who don't do much during the day...

      It's not about carbs, it's about calories in versus calories burned.
      Reverse sit ups will not help you to lose belly fat! It will build muscle in this area which is a good thing.
      Exercising your biceps won't burn fat around your arms and doing squats won't burn fat around your legs and butt. Target exercising targets muscle, not fat.
      Fat will be burned off your body in the reverse order your body stored it. You can't change your genetics. If this guy is a doctor, he should know this.
      The best and fastest way to reduce fat, is by being in caloric deficit and by doing cardiovascular exercise. Running long distance is the most effective way to burn fat.
      I break all his rules regarding diet. I eat what I want, but my portions are small. I train every day and run 30 miles a week.
      There is no magic diet, potion or exercise to lose belly fat. It will eventually burn off if you remain in caloric deficit for long enough.

    I know when I work out on my stomach, even though I get sore. The stomach is the part of the body that you can work out everyday. Like we switch arms and legs, but you do not have too with the stomach. I hope this statement will help anyone that does not know about abdomen workouts.

    It's funny you post this video because I actually started taking a barbell and did the same exercise out of curiosity about 3 years ago and have been doing it ever since. I was still over weight, but after losing weight (about 50 pounds of fat) I have no lower stomach issues. ❤❤❤

    This works great! I also stopped drinking regular milk because it has Lactose in it that can cause stomach bloating. And started drinking almond milk. My abs are showing a lot more! Great workout.

      If you don't care about calories Soy Milk is the best Dairy Milk Equivalent! Creamy and sweet.
      And Soy reduces estrogen in the body bc you're not a plant you're an animal.

    All these years I've been doing sit-ups, crunches, leg-raises and still had a belly roll.

      The exercises you mentioned are strength training exercises. They increase muscle mass. Cardio exercises like running, jumping, swimming, cycling are burning calories so you can lose fat while you do them. Increased muscle mass from strength training is good because it burns calories 24×7 unlike cardio. Most importantly you need a proper diet else the belly roll will stay.
      At your current condition, you must be having excellent core muscles covered with a layer of fat, which hides your abs. Core muscles are good! So keep it up but add some cardio and keep an eye on your calorie intake.

    Thank you Dr. Berg !!! It really made a huge difference for me already after doing this exercise for a few days now.
    I have a very annoying and visible pooch and it already started to tighten up and kinda lift.
    I got to say i do this exercise a LOT. Not just 25 or 50 or 100 ... i mean a LOT :D But that way it works for me.
    I would recomend everyone give it a try. you really feel the muscle working where your flabby pooch is.

    I just started trying this exercise. I've gained some weight due to medication and I need to tighten up and never thought of doing reverse sit ups. Makes my lower belly muscles feel good.

    Dr Berg,
    Perhaps you are not aware that yogasanas such as the Surya Namaskar ( Sun Salutation) and Ustrasana ( Camel Pose) are complete, scientific and safe exercises that not only stretch the abdomen but provide several other benefits. And these can be done everyday, as I have been doing. The hands, incidentally, when bending backwards, as in your video, should be on the hips, to support the back.

    If you're hyper mobile and/or prone to lumbar pain kneel down, lift your buttocks slightly off your heels, engage the quads and glutes, lean back in a straight line so that you are creating a 45 degree angle from your toes to the top of your head. Lift and lower for as many reps as you wish. Build up to short holds. Be aware this may induce muscle tremors. Breathe through them.

    I had a bloated "pregnant" belly most of my life despite doing really lots of exercises. But once on healthy keto and intermittent fasting (fasting 20-21 hrs a day and having healthy keto meals, it took me 3 days to solve the bloated situation and see my abs without gym at all. I saved so much, money and efforts just following Dr Berg's videos. Just having enough avocados (3-4 big one's), cod liver big salads, 4 high quality eggs were enough. Daily.

    You can also do sit ups with your legs stretched straight in front of you. That helps put focus on the lower abdomen rather than the upper abdomen....
