  • In this episode Ian from Wooly TV gets a custom Rusty PU/Poly "Deuce" and puts it through the paces in West Australia.
    Noel mentions in this review that he wanted a third party unbiased review on the Deuce model he designed with Rusty. So Noel reached out to Ian from Wooly TV. Ian has his own You Tube channel called Wooly TV where he regularly reviews surfboards from some of the largest surfboard brands.
    Ian brings his A Game to shred the Deuce in chest high to overhead waves. Ian likes the performance of the Deuce on his forehand and backhand, and notices that he can push hard on his rails through turns. He also mentions that surfing backside on most twin fins can be difficult..... however on the Deuce he feels like he can push through his turns similar to a Thruster off the bottom and still have the release of a Twin Fin.
    Ian says the Deuce offers excellent hold and drive through turns and it's very fast down the line. He liked the Deuce in 2-6'+ surf and mentions that it could easily replace a High Performance Short Board with its ability to perform in the pocket in waves that have push.
    Ian surfed the EN Twin Fins by Future for the entire review. He said the EN Twin Fin template is a little bigger and they offered plenty of hold and drive. The last thing he mentions is the Deuce did not grovel well in small mushy waves but he loved it in waves with steeper sections or flatter waves that have push.
    Ian's Height 6'1" (187cm) & Weight 195 lb (89kg)
    Ian's Board DIMS: 6'1" x 20 x 2.48 (34L)

    Wooly looked real progressive on the board. Looks like held in when needed and slid when he wanted.

      I agree… Ian looked sharp on the Deuce. Looked like he was riding a HPSB

    you both do great reviews. very informative and heaps of ACTUALLY SURFING...which apparently is rare for a lot of surfboard reviews. Not just 2 waves in slop

    So good having wooly involved. Massively helps translate the smaller performance guy wave pool to the bigger guy ocean waves and see boards in a more typical sizing for the everyday folk

    It's hard to tell from the review what the rocker is like. It looks flatish and then there's a little bit of flip in the nose. When I think of high performance boards I think more rocker but like I said it was hard to tell from the review, can you expand on that?.

    • @surfnshowreviews7777
      @surfnshowreviews7777  Před 8 měsíci +1

      The overall rocker is a lot less compared to a typical HPSB.
      I would say it has similar rocker to a small wave performance board or typical Daily Driver.

    Thanks Noel! Duece seems like a really legit shape! I have a quick question though, widening a bit the stock dims, would affect the overall performance of the shape?

      recon it would go better as an alrounder bit wider.

    • @RustySurfboardsTV
      @RustySurfboardsTV Před 8 měsíci +2

      Widening the board a bit does make it a little slower rail to rail but will probably plain better. Thanks!

    • @surfnshowreviews7777
      @surfnshowreviews7777  Před 8 měsíci +1

      You can go a tad wider, maybe 1/16” wider. Any wider will make it a bit tighter and less responsive in the pocket. The width will offer a little more down the line speed do to more surface area to create more lift. It’s a toss up… what’s most important to you performance wise….

    Noel, great video, love the collaboration with Wooly! Question on traction pad placement for boards like this. I just got an Album Twinsman and was considering a Deuce. Should I go as far back as possible or stay over the fins? I’ve been using your traction pad cutout track on other boards and it has worked great. It’s a lot harder with the swallow tail and leash plug in the middle. Just wanted to hear your feedback on it before I commit, Thanks!

    • @surfnshowreviews7777
      @surfnshowreviews7777  Před 5 měsíci +1

      I always put the pad all the way back. You can always move your foot forward but if the is not back far enough you will not get good turns

      Ian would love my fins…. However I love that he was shredding on the EN’s too. It’s got to see the Deuce being surfed with other fin templates. It shows how solid the board design is.

    Deuce or free scrubber? This is the problem..

    • @surfnshowreviews7777
      @surfnshowreviews7777  Před 7 měsíci +3

      The Deuce offers more performance and it will shred the pocket better with its sleeker outline. I personally like my Twin Fin boards to offer more performance out of the two.
      The FS has a wider nose and it’s a bit more fishy so it will like to cruise and carve more.
