Kelly Slater Surfs With Some Of Bali’s Top Locals

- The surfing talent at Bali’s Padma Beach was through the roof yesterday afternoon, and that was before 11 time world champion Kelly Slater unexpectedly showed up. Local surfers Rizal Tanjung, Rio Waida, Bronson Meydi, and many more were out there putting on a show, and there was a definite buzz on the beach every time Kelly took off on one.
Mr Slater was frothing as hard as all of the kids out there bagging a load of waves during his two surfs, which was great to see. It’s just over 2 weeks until the Pipe Masters contest commences in Hawaii, so no doubt Kelly will be over there soon warming up for yet another season on the WCT.

If there was ever a study to find out who’s had the greatest life ever lived, no doubt that study would have to strongly consider the life of Kelly Slater.... who else has as seen, done, experienced, achieved & accomplished so much, and even now as the vast majority of the world collapses from the threat of a global pandemic, Slater’s life says, “no thanks, I’ll go escape to Bali and surf perfect warm beautiful sunny waves every day for a while until this whole ordeal blows over”. Kelly Slater’s such a great inspiration to us all.
He's been a lucky SOB. His life has been beyond our wildest dreams. It's his time to have everything god granted it to him for some reason. Maybe in the next life it will be our turn. Everyone will get there turn eventually. Probably yours will be on another planet with better surf spots than earth and warm crystal clear water everywhere and no sharks or things that will attack and eat you. We are just the first level here on Earth right now, each level gets better!! Good luck!!

Thing about Kelly is the humility and respect he shows everywhere he goes. You don't have to surf like him to surf localized spots. You just have to act like him.

90% of the time it's wind chop slop, so that's really what he rode at home. This would be a well above average, nearly epic, day around the sunshine state. He travelled early to escape it

@@cheesmonster i paused it at 6 seconds and see a clear firewire logo... so maybe something to be released? Or an existing model in firewire tech? Either way would love to get my hands on it.

Love to hear the story behind that board. An all-black stinger style twin fin?? Can't recall him ever surfing anything like that before, but he obviously was destroying it.

Wonderful surfing , of course , but I really would like to see Kelly surf the fun little ones like these on a longboard nose rider. In fact , I'd like to see what he could come up with in a long board - my mind rattles with the possibilities ! Hubby Seth , poaching on his wife's account.

Glad you enjoyed! 👍 Corox "Zombie Killer" was the white t-shirt goofy in the video, but I think some of the other locals surfed earlier in the day.
Anyone else not a fan of drone surfing footage? The perspective makes the wave look smaller
