As a charger main, most of these shots are possible, with some luck, but just the fact that they get sooooo many of those shots that were luck dependent, you will have to be an insane, actually perfect sniper player, and just seeing their awareness and positioning shows that they are not a skilled player proves that they must be hacking, also the way they slide around like that with no movement abilities is also sus
It's kinda weird that he hits on a wider range sometimes, maybe it's a replay issue. BUT, I noticed that when he swims on normal ground without ink, he isn't slowed down nor going back to the surface, which would be understandable if he were lagging, but there doesn't seem to be any lag here. I also noticed that he had trouble "aiming" when jumping or if the target is too high, so it's really suspicious to me.
another thing, is it common for snipers or e-liters specifically to hold their charges like that for the prolonged amount of times that this player does? it seems really odd, i dont usually see snipers do that.
@@betacrystal i'm a little hesitant on the whole big-hitbox allegation bc replays aren't perfect; kills are often laggy on them. mine usually are, and when i play the game i don't have lag at all -- and i don't use an aimbot. if this person was lagging, then that would also explain why they seem to move faster without being in ink. that still doesn't explain the too-high speed, though
Ad another thing, they clearly are not aiming like a skilled charger player. They're aiming all over the place like a shooter instead of holding pinpoint steady like the actually good ones. You can just tell this guy is not aiming like a good charger player.
He never really runs out of ink either…. Like he gets under halfway swims in his tank for a second and it gets back to half way…. Even at one point it goes back to full and he wasn’t in it that long.
Greatest thing to do when you're in a match with a hacker is to leave the game. Take the bullet for your teammates and either end the match early or nullify the results. Even better if you DC on the hackers team.
If I find myself teammed up with a hacker I will happily bite that bullet and wait out the timed ban. The cherry on top will be if my switch was chosen as the host due to (somehow) having better ping!
Nintendo indirectly gave us a weapon to fight against hackers. Let’s abuse it.
In this situation though, I don't think it's immediately obvious that it's hacks until you watch the replay back. They aren't doing anything obvious like spamming bombs or painting the whole map
If you can tell me an immediate way of identifying a hacker, I will bit the bullet everytime I found one.

Its pretty easy to tell they're hacking. No E-Liter player just stands out that far in the open without any mines. No inking during downtime is also a little weird. No flicking at all feels so weird.
Could just be the replay that makes it look laggy. Looks like there's one NA? player in that lobby, it is possible for a little latency. Definitely some sketchy looking snipes tho.
Sometimes hacks can be hilarious, but the end of the day, hackers are just garbage.

Nothing is more infuriating than that reporter who tracked down one of the people flooding Team Fortress 2 with hundreds of hacked sniper bots with aimbot and asked them why they were doing it, and they just responded "Lol idk"
For the record, this seems to be a hitbox hack rather than aimbot. Charger player myself and I couldn't see anything weird about their aim (the camera lag was there but that's just a replay thing), there was never a point where the reticle unnaturally snapped to a player or they perfectly tracked someone through a wall or anything like that. But the E-liter hitbox itself was clearly way more generous than it should've been, to the point where they were easily hitting around walls and getting impossible double kills.
I think there might be something up with the aim because at 7:58, you can BARELY see someone's head, and that shot is impossible, yet they still aimed and shot there
@@mayka2982 That's just cause they saw the person heading there earlier. Hard to say if they were trying to kill with that shot, but either way you still want to fire shots like that just to paint (and maybe if you're lucky indicate to your teammates where an opponent is, which they also tried to do)

This seems to be the common thread among all the hackers - they’re god awful at the game and I don’t think hacking just translates to always winning. We can see in that first game they almost lost. People that understand the game at a deep level are used to playing against people with absolutely cracked aim and they know how to fight against it, and they’ll still run over people like this that don’t really get the game at a deeper level and know what they’re doing.
Area awareness... Something I still am trying to learn myself.
You can have a perfect aim, but in a game like Splatoon where the map is small and enemies can pop out literally anywhere around you... You're sitting duck.
I was once put in a high level players match of Rainmaker, and I seriously can only stand still because I cannot track even one enemy, they're just so fast.
Just to clarify they're not hackers, just that I was such a noob back then I was just flabbergasted and can't move... That's where I start to learn about area awareness.

The Eliter looks like they messed with the Ink Recovery and Ink Save Main abilities because there are way too many shots coming out and way too much ink being used.

that's just how it looks in replays, there a little camera lag in replays for every weapon

@@RykerDotJPGbut it doesn't look like regular aimbot. Aimbot consistently follows the movement of the closest player in its radius but that's seemingly not the case in this scenario, so that what makes this specific case quite interesting.

and perhaps wallhacks or made it where theres a point censor on people at all times since there were times where he knew where people were despite having no view on them or have any vision of them going to that place on their screen

Some of those shots were possible but not that frequently. The shooting over ledges and people poking walls was way too consistent to be close to legitimate.
@@harmless9336 Well sometimes he shot people who were standing next to each other not behind each other from the e-liter's perspective too so somehow the hotbox was increased
E Liter and Z+F main, he was also too consistent to not be using hacks since he wasn’t aware. If he was aware AND consistent, it could have been possible he wasn’t using hacks.
(Basically what I’m trying to say, he only is good at one area of the weapon which is a red flag. If it was legit, he would’ve been better in all areas.)
The main thing that was initially weirding me out was that the laser was moving somewhat independently of the camera. I don’t play any charger, so it’s probably normal for all I know.

My biggest take was that they seemed to know where all the players were. they're aim seemed regular. Maybe they had some type of hack that let you see every opponent...

The main thing I noticed too easily is the way the laser was moving. The movement is jagged.. Not even control sticks or motion could do it so easily. Non-hack related chargers’ laser usually move smoothly. The fact the sniper got someone with no way of telling someone was behind the tree with precise precision is a red flag.
No, as a charger main when I look at footage the laser moves in the exact same way. I dont know if it got patched because I dont watch replay footage much anymore but it was like that for at least 4 months
@@Coalgate_frsh if you take a better look, it still snaps and moves differently than your average replay would, you are correct that it does this during replays but if you look closely it still looks very off

With how bad squiffer range is I doubt they would have made any impact. Then again it would have been better as they'd be awful with hacks and have no range (for a charger that is, not knocking the squiffer. Its better than bamboozler).

People who do this kind of stuff in all games are usually this bad. An amazing example of this would be people who do god mode aircraft glitches in GTA Online. It’s unfortunately very common and part of why I quit the comp scene for that game. Despite being literally invincible, I could usually infinitely 1v1/1v2 them to keep them busy and away from my teammates. It’s also always funny when they manage to crash the jet and get It lodged in a corner.

I always wondered about this issue since Splatoon 1. We can always notice when people do insane hacks like crazy fire rate, but what about subtle hacks? Like a bit of damage up? A bit less rng? A bit longer brush reach? We can never tell when players do this.
I politely asked in one of their comment sections on one of their community posts for them to stop hacking in online, but they replied and tried to go off on me for it. I can’t believe they did that, so I unsubscribed.
I actually faced a hacker yesterday, they were playing the splattershot and I knew something was up when they killed me in one shot. Rewatching it, they were definitely hacking, aimboting and maybe weapon damage. They lost though which is hilarious to me

I personally have never encountered a hacker in my now 12 year gaming experience. At this point I am debating if they even actually exist.

I have but not in this game. It was a dinosaur survival sim and they were awful. Even with tp and speed hacks they couldn't even get me as a dryo! I admit I'm bad at that game too along with splatoon, but it says something when you can't get a single kill WITH hacks. Admins blocked them eventually as they were breaking server rules.
I still remember the player tag of the hacker and how the entire server basically united against them while still obeying said server rules.
I found one in splatoon 2, they were an octolin before octo expansion even came out.

All because most of these people are playing on a model 1 Switch, which is way easier to mod than a model 2, Switch Lite, or OLED.

@@SilverRyuu yes I'm aware of that, the hardware being somewhat different makes sense but less so about the software as its the same across all models that I'm aware of.
@Hikaru Software is the same across all models, but early models of the Switch had a hardware exploit involving a paperclip. The original chip the release switch had is different from the default switches nintendo sells now. The old chip, while running the same software, is easier to mod because of the exploit. That's part of the reason Nintendo changed tree chip
It does look like auto aim. Obviously they’re hitting shots that shouldn’t have even been possible but also the charger line is glitching out. Like it’s looking for people. It’s also tilting to one side, instead of a straight line. Plus has a bigger range then normally. Either way hope they can fix the problem soon.
You can definitely tell somethings up based on how the line moves, it doesn’t sway smoothly like it would if the player was using motion controls. And it’s not static enough to look like the player is using sticks. It looks like the motion controls are being “dragged” in a way, by certain increments; instead of the usual swooping motion.
If im being honest I could not tell if he was hacking at all because the netcode causes me to get sniped right through walls.
That guy ain't the only one!! Almost every game there's a sniper who makes the most sus questionable perfect aimed kills. I dont know how they did it but the sniper aimbot thing is getting out of hand......
So my theory as to what this is is it’s an auto-release for charged shots, when the reticle is on a player, the shot releases automatically and the aiming slightly drifts towards the anticipated position the target will move to

I'm a charger (mostly) main and I'm just smh-ing my damn head the entire time, so much of those shots make no damn sense, how you gonna hit someone you didn't even see 5 seconds ago??? And as you said their awareness otherwise if just atrocious, yet they're aiming at players through walls lmao! The confusing name too, found that to be a moderately common thing amongst hackers (not always but quits a bit of the time that's the case)
i have seen someone once a while back with actual aimbot where you see as soon as an enemy is on screen it flicks there, shot and back in an instant (replay sadly dosent exist anymore since it was before the update), only other thing i remember is that their name was a yt channel with a video of them playing E-liter with sensor effect on every player and the aimbot flick
The big omg moments for me was the guy killed behind the ramp at the start area and the one behind the central tower.
Theres another hacker i played against whos goes by the name of haxxie/huh? Dude really was so desperate for top 500 that he uses hacks… its sad honestly dude uses aimbot with a squeezer, its really embarrassing tbh

I've had many games where the sniper is really on point with their aim and I start wondering if they are legit that good.
I've never been against a sniper like this.
After seeing this, the one's I've come across were unlikely to have been hacking.
I'm confident that this is just really good eliter gameplay. The sliding is due to interpolation (because this is a replay, the game is polling what they are doing every few frames or so, and averaging movement between them.) The latency in this game is also terrible, so you can easily be behind a wall on your screen, but *just* visible on someone else's.
What I think we're looking at is someone who mains a different weapon (e.g squeezer, squiffer) applying their skills to an e-liter. That's why it's overly aggressive, and why they completely freeze up during a push, and why they don't do common e-liter stuff, like using mines, jump-snipes, etc.

I am not sure whatever I saw was a hacker or not, but during Splatfest, I saw a bunch of purple on my team’s bass, but I didn’t see any Team Alien players on or by the base yet. Right after I saw that, I got kicked out because of a “connection error” so I don’t have a replay unfortunately. 👎🏻
To be frank, there isn’t really anything Nintendo can do about this anymore, assuming this is “Haxxie”.
Nintendo has tried different types of bans and anti-cheat methods, and she just hacks her way around those as well.

You can see whatever aimbot or aim assist that they're using tracks enemy player movements through obstacles. There's some level of prediction that skilled players can do against their opponents, but the way they aim in certain moments really gives it away. Also these kinds of hackers just seem to have no idea how to position. It's probably a mix of piss-poor game sense AND trying to throw a little bit to not be suspicious. Of course, getting that many snipes the way they do is just too weird not to notice.
When you want to use hacks, most people would usually try to hide it. But this one is not even trying.

Here’s what doesn’t make sense to me - he DOES miss some shots here and there, and I have to ask why does that happen if he’s using a hack? Is the hack not 100% perfect? I don’t think the answer is that he’s too far each time. If they can hack aim then why couldn’t they also hack distance of the weapon too? I don’t know, the thing is even with cheating they still almost lose which shows you even cheating doesn’t guarantee wins. It also won’t teach you how to play the game at a deep level.
I’m waiting for a hacker Tri-stringer to pop up. I will admit some of those shots looked natural but honestly I don’t understand why you want to hack I mean I play E-liter since splatoon 2 I practiced it’s so rewarding and I’m still practicing.

almost nobody uses cheats on e-liter, because you still have to play well and know something about how to play it. Aim is't everything in splatoon 3. From what I saw, most shots were definetly possible for a good charger player, but he just aimed next to the enemies and shifted his aim in one frame(aimbot or bigger hitbox idk). He still played pretty bad though.

Backliners don't get 26 kills at high levels, as the opponents don't make themselves available enough to get that many kills. Also you're teammates take advantage and end the game early. A great game for a backliner is like 12-2 or 10-1 depending on mode. At rank X they are gonna find you in replays every time if the game feels odd.

To address the "why doesn't Nintendo address cheating more" thing? I honestly think Nintendo wants to *however* can't due to time or *not knowing how the issue works* yet.
Remember, there will always be a bigger market for cheating than there is for anti-cheat. Nintendo has to add new content, balance the game, and bug fix *while also* trying to adjust their anti-cheat measures so that cheats don't happen... in 1.5 months on average. 3 months, if we're being generous. Lets cut Nintendo a bit of slack for their overworked devs, here.
Edit: Also, I think I may have worked it out. This guy is definitely using an aimbot of some sort... specifically, to me, it looks like silent aim. But he *100%* locks on to targets before he fires. entirely. Checked in slow mo.

This elitre game looks legit to me. There was 1 or 2 times where they seem to flick towards a wall weirdly but most of their flicks were to already onscreen opponents. And it’s really a hard sell for you to tell me he’s hacking when you can’t even say what kind of hack it is

The reporting system for splatoon isn't that bad. When the big swig lag switch was still a thing I banned to the first and only player to do it to me
We can report them. In past games Nintendo has taken hacking and cheating pretty seriously, it was almost nonexistent in splatoon 2, so I don’t know why everyone is acting like they won’t do anything. They don’t typically like stuff like this, and they usually go pretty far in fighting against it.
Most hackers just have terrible game sense. I suck at aiming and am wholely mediocre at the game but I have a pretty decent sense of what needs to happen and how I can help make it happen. I'm not always able to make it happen. But I can make it happen.
