    Research shows that teaching children about financial concepts as early as age 3 can help them develop money management skills that will last a lifetime. Giving them access to a debit card is one way to instill financial knowledge, promote responsible spending, and provide added safety benefits.
    Several companies offer debit cards for kids, and Greenlight is a popular choice. With the Greenlight card, children can securely spend, save, and invest all in one place, helping them learn the basics of digital money management while still under their parents' guidance and protection.
    But, is the Greenlight card a good option for you or your kid?

    • @TheModestWallet
      @TheModestWallet  Před 23 dny

      Great question: No, Debit cards are not considered credit, so activity with them is not reported to credit bureaus and does not appear on credit reports.

    I was looking for a simple debit card account for my teen, but the app and GL card management is doing waay too much.

    • @TheModestWallet
      @TheModestWallet  Před měsícem

      So are you saying GL was too complicated for what you needed the account for?

    • @reelgriot
      @reelgriot Před měsícem

      @TheModestWallet Yes. But it also seemed fundamentally complicated for simple, ordinary banking.

    I don’t like that my parents control my money and they can see where I’ve been buying things. And there’s a limit on this card too. You can’t spend over a certain amount. There’s like a $300 limit you can add to the card at once.

      @@rudolphbillups3119your parents know what’s best for you, they are trying to teach you. Trust me man, I went through the same thing with my father. Once you start listening more taking things in and letting less out, while also talking with them about the things you don’t like. You’ll understand.
