Just today (2 yrs after watching this video) I made this Dresden Plate table topper. For years I haven’t been much of a “pinner”but I decided to follow your instructions exactly. I starched my fabrics, cut them carefully, and pinned each blade as I sewed them together. I also used my clapper as I pressed each seam. I must say, this Dresden Plate is so accurately pieced and lays absolutely flat. Thank you Kimberly for teaching this old girl some new tricks. I really enjoy your video tutorials, you are an excellent educator. ❤️
You, my dear, would make an excellent plastic surgeon! I love your precision and your attention to the little details that make all the difference. You are a great teacher.
I AM A FAN OF WHATEVER YOU DO AND WHATEVER MUSIC THAT YOU CHOOSE, KIMBERLY.
I couldn't help it but I laughed every time Kimberly said "pivot" I am a Friends fan and saw Ross saying "PIVOTTT-PIVOTTT-PIVOTTT" every time. LOL Awesome tutorial! Dresden is my favorite bock!
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻😍😍😍
If you cut the circle out with pinking sheers, you can skip cutting all those slits.
Super great idea! Thank you!
Great idea, ty
My sister fell in love with this Dresden plate and is now looking at Jolly Bars to choose fabric for her Dresden plate.
This is the CUTEST!!! Love this project!! What a great gift idea!! Also WOW wouldn't it be cute to put three in a row across a table?!!!
I just adore your your "cut" moment. It makes you human.
Love this tutorial style with plenty of instructions but brief and to the point ( not a lot of blah blah dragging the lesson down). You have a very pleasant voice and pacing is perfect for me. I also love your technique and little tips along the way.
Glad to know I’m not the only one who draws the 1/4” lines on fabric.
Love the dresden. Thank you!
I always love a Dresden plate. So many uses. Great idea.

Would love to see the back. This is a great project and looks like fun. Quick gift ideas are always appreciated.
Love a Dresden and yours is beautiful. The fabric is beautiful. Tfs.
How cute is that! 😀
I just got a lazy susan for my table and this would be a perfect accent! I really appreciate your perfectionism. I'm not a perfectionist really but it really bugs me when I see quilters and even gals who make their own clothes make mistakes in their sewing (seams especially) and don't take the time while sewing to make it all match. They're all "oh well!" Hahaha! Anyway - thanks, Kimberly for at least teaching newbies, who don't have old habits to break how to do things properly. No one always gets it right but with minimal effort we can and always can learn new things from each other!
I agree, Kimberly's videos were the first I watched, then I watched some other videos and it's all loosey-goosey, no pinning, no ironing, I had to come back :-)
lovely gift
Super cute project Kimberly. Thanks for showing each step and how to get the best results. I can see where I would have taken several shortcuts without thinking about it and not had such great results.
Fabulous tutorial! Thank you.
I've been looking for this pattern and was so glad to peruse your site to find it! Thanks Kimberly! Also, love your ring. Hugs, Cathy
Thats so cute thanks for sharing
I love this. I have made a ring of coffin EPP shapes but have not sewn it together with backing or the center circle. Now I know how to finish it. Thank you for another great tutorial.
Thank you so much for the detailed video demo and all the great technique tips! And I'm thinking that Kimberly CAN do applique and it would be as perfect as her pieced quilts!!
Cute cute cute!
I use starch now after watching you. It has really helped me Beautiful block
Sooooo pretty🌸🌸🌸
that's beautiful! the top you are wearing is pretty too.
Can’t wait to make one
Very cute idea! I can see making 3 and sewing to a base for an easy table runner! ❤️
I was thinking about doing the same thing and I'm going to use Christmas fabric for the upcoming season :)
Beautiful 😍 !!!!
Waaayyy cute!! Just ordered my ruler!!
Great video- I have wanted to do a Dresden and this little project is perfect
Love it!!
Great video, Kimberly and staff and an adorable Dresden Plate centerpiece! I really enjoyed watching this tutorial and I liked the music you played!
Fantastic idea
This would make cute placemats.
This is my second try at making one of these. So far so good. I just have to make my circle and it will be all done. I used a Folktale jolly bar folktale backing.
Love the music.💕
I love your video. You explain EVERYTHING. I never use patterns. I could make this without the template. Creating your own template is a unique way of expressing yourself. You did an amazing job.
Well done again!!!
Kimberly, I love your tutorials! This Dresden plate is so pretty and the fabrics are beautiful. Pam Miller in Alabama
