How to Make a Matcha Bubble Tea Latte

  • This Matcha Bubble Tea Latte is an iced drink that was created in Taiwan in the 80s. It’s made with matcha tea, oat milk, maple syrup (as a sweetner), and tapioca balls. (The tapioca balls, also known as boba, is why the drink is called bubble tea.)
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Ingredients (1 serving):
    1/4 cup of tapioca starch balls
    1 3/4 cup of water
    2 grams of matcha powder
    20 ml of maple syrup
    3/4 cup of oat milk
    Matcha Bubble Tea Instructions:
    1. Add 1 3/4 cup of water to a pot and set to boil
    2. Add 1/4 cup of tapioca balls to the pot
    3. Let the tapioca balls cook for 15 minutes. Stir frequently.
    4. Once cooked, transfer the tapioca balls to a bowl and let rest for 15 minutes.
    5. Sift 2 grams of matcha powder to a bowl.
    6. Add hot water and whisk until frothy.
    7. Add tapioca balls to a glass cup
    8. Add 20ml of maple syrup to the glass cup.
    9. Add Oat milk to the glass and fill with some ice cubes.
    10 Pour in the matcha tea and stir.
