This song was the opening song of my daddy's funeral last week. One of the 3 songs he chose himself. I remember hearing it when i was just a little kid in the house growing up. I will kep it with me.
@@KowalskyLeon The other songs he chose where Metallica - Sad but true and U2 - Still haven't found what I'm looking for. Metallica was amazing in the funeral home. Some of the (old) people there where very unhappy with it. But my dad loved it and I believe he was there ghost smiling at all the cringing old people. In life he wouldn't have cared what they thought and he would have laughed at their cringe.
@@Saskia_vm He has found what he was looking for now, Bubblegum. So sorry for your loss, but I have a sense from his selections that he knew he was going to a better place. All the best to you and yours and may God Bless.
Your vision about religion is a little bit limited. Don't forget that we are all God's creations. Once you're born you can decide of you can use your gifts to heal other people or to be a nasty man. This is Real Life not a book call Bible or under other name.
I was lucky enough to meet Mr Hooker, in my late teens. He was memorable then (for all sorts of reasons, not just musical), and he’s stayed with me ever since.
Music unite Music is my everything Blues Heals atleast I feel so I❤this tune so much John Lee Hooker's singing and Santana's magical guitar=Pure PERFECTION!
In the early 90s I was a single dad with a full time job. I was a field service engineer and I used to set off for a long drive every morning, feeling crap from lack of sleep. I listened to this track repeatedly in the car and, yes, it healed me. It was, I know, the natural process of recovery but the song made my hairs stand on end and still does, to this day. Chill Out does the same, too. A pair of geniuses...
I am getting goosebumps listening this sing, so powerful, no adequate words to describe my hype. This song was released back in eighties, and it is like i am listening it for the first time..
Lightning strikes twice. Listen to Chill Out. So good. Carlos has some great records through the mid 70's. His collaborations with John Lee Hooker hit some high water marks. His collaboration with Everlast and that other guy, (Smooth song)....outstanding.
If you ain't feeling the vibe in this cutt, you ain't got no pulse. These two legends collaborating, you knew it had to be something special. Listening to this on my Bose headset, I thought that I was there at the recording studio. Classic, classic, classic.
I know what you mean every cd, tape, whatever, this song is on everyone. Can not get tired of hearing it. Play it every time i'm feeling down it it brings me up! It's my Healer works for me every time.
You can feel the cosmic energy crackling between these two titans. I interviewed Carlos for a UK music magazine during promo for the Shamen album. An alltime hero of mine from Abraxas onward he was really open and i learned a great deal that day. John Lee is a true legend of the blues. Together instant magic is made!
Whichever year this was made, it was "song of the year." What a band! Santana on lead guitar. LJH singing. Some cool Caribbean and (I think) African rhythms in the background.
I was parked in my car in Edinburgh playing this full blast and two guys stopped and began playing air guitars real excited like; stopping passers-by, saying, 'stay stay you must hear this!' Then one of them climbed in the back seat to get the full blast. I think he was having a mental orgasm or somethin. Wondrous piece of music, brightened that street for sure. I'm glad I was able to discover the good stuff and spread it around.
I bought this as a 45 as soon as it came out. Listening + finally finding this clip is phenomenal. Gonna tell those guys who do reactions to have a go at this.
SOB. I heard this song on a plane over twenty years ago and I haven't heard it since. Now, I'm in my favorite bar and what song plays on the jukebox twenty years later....you guessed it. God has a sense of humor.

Very Very special sound I like so much

Una guitarra de rock latino con uno de los padres del blues. Awesome!!!

The awesome part in this is that most blues musicians play by ear and the lyrics just come natural.
My first concert was in 1979, santana with eddie money at the international amphitheater in chicago. Still my favorite.
