    You are doing a fantastic job of renovating your bout. Don't worry about the little mistakes we all make them. People don't realise how much hard work goes into this type of thing and just how long it takes

    i love the music - so many channels have music that doesn't fit the visuals or is too jarring. Thanks for your care in selecting the music!

    Hi. Lovely to see another of your videos.
    It’s pretty cool how much progress you have made with your Re-fit,just a little bit of a heads up with Tongue and groove panelling ( especially in a narrowboat ),you need to have 2 screws or nails per batten otherwise they will go misshapen as time progresses,many boat owners have tried with singular screws or nails in the middle or on one edge and they end up having to remove the T+G and replacing the lot,the problem is the Cold,condensation and the heat which greatly effects the Wood,Screws with a bigger head are best and a top tip with screwing into timber is a little bit of sikoflex per screw which prevents the screws from going rusty or squeaky ( as the timber moves ) which it does especially on a Narrowboat.

      @DriftwoodFolk  Před 3 měsíci +1

      There is two nails per batten you just might not have seen me do that in the video because I don’t include every step 👍

    • @moffatt43
      @moffatt43 Před 3 měsíci +1

      @@DriftwoodFolk I’m glad you did do the 2 per batten, I was in two minds about saying something to yourselves and decided it would be better for me to seem like a interfering so an so rather than you having to re-do all the Work of the T+G…. Better to say something than nothing scenario 🤷‍♂️.
      There’s plenty of times when I’ve done DIY projects and I wish someone had said something at the time,rather than after the fact Lol 😂.
      I hope you didn’t mind me passing on my little nugget of knowledge to yourselves

    It's great to see the progress you have made. I too am doing a full refit of a narrowboat - I think we're mad, but it will be worth it when it's done 😊

    Hi Nesha,
    Haven't you come along with your carpentry skills. If I may offer a few suggestions. Do get yourself a few clamps if you do not have them. Also when you install something with screws drill a pilot hole first then the screw(s) will suck the wood down tight first time. It will also reduce the chance of splitting the wood when a screw is put close to the end of the wood.
    Third there are skill saw blades that are more narrow than the one you used. Their purpose is to make cutting a radius easier, B&Q will have them.

    The boat is looking fabulous, but what a long time it’s taking I bet you can’t wait to be finished so you can move onboard. X

    Still wondering where the lady went that thought what your doing was impossible. That would be the same lady that sat and had a tear because she thought she had made a big mistake. If she could see the boat, I wonder what she would say as she watched you trimming T&G like a pro around the windows? Looking good you two.

    Having solar cable joints above the ceiling is not a good idea in case they fail.😮

      Hi there thanks for your comment ... They are ip67 rated connectors so shouldn't have an issue but id rather have the connectors inside than having them outside in the elements .... Its only behind some t&g so if they do end up failing for any reason the t&g can be removed & replaced easily.
