Thank you for watching! And thank you for all your comments, I love making videos for you all!
If you're new to Actualol, my name is Jon Purkis. My two passions are writing comedy and playing board games, so I decided to combine the two in this CZcams channel.
I make all my videos on my own, in my flat in London, UK, with the help of a diverse selection of wigs.

Party games are extremely underrated and looked down upon by this community, thanks for posting this video.
absolutely agree
Really honoured to be amongst so many great games!
Chameleon was a big hit with our family. Such a fun party game.
I discovered your channel not too long ago so I have been going through and watching a lot of the older videos, especially your top 10 videos. As I was watching this one in particular I became very curious to ask you how many of these games you still play today? I realize you have tons of games and getting any game to the table more than once could be pretty tough, but how many of these still excite you? With so many games coming out every year it seems like older games (even if they are just 2-3 years old) can struggle to find their way to the table. Also, secondary question, have any party games come out in the last 2 years that have 'replaced' any of these games in the same way Muse replaces Dixit for you?
Thanks for making great content! Your reviews are always on point and my list of games I want to own has grown significantly because of your videos.
I finally got around to playing Muse. For a party game, it has a lot of downtime: one team waits (with nothing to look at) while the other team selects the Masterpiece and Inspiration cards, and then everybody but the muse waits while the muse figures out a clue. People were getting antsy. The art _is_ gorgeous. The scoring is cleaner and simpler than Dixit, but I don't think the experience is as rich. I'm happily keeping my Dixit (and adding the Muse cards to it).
Chameleon was definitely a big surprised for 2017. It was a great hit for my board game group
That "Debatable" game sounds pretty much like an exact copy of "Argue" published in 2005. I wonder if it's some sort of re-print or just a straight up stolen idea? Either way, I've found that these types of games can either be really fun if every single person in the group is all-in to play it. But if you have even one person who is a non-confrontational type or someone who thinks it's dumb to argue about something they don't really believe, it falls kind of flat. I think Snake Oil (which you mentioned) is a much better alternative which takes the same style of play but filters out the confrontational part. Seems like that makes it more accessible to people.
I like to see a list , i personally like your list especially because there are some title i know ;)))) but also because there are those i don't know and would like to explore and to find out more :) thanks for the list
Wits and Wagers Vegas is an expansion, right? So, it needs Wits & Wagers Party, right?
100% correct. Although I think it could be easily played with normal Wits and Wagers if you have that instead of party.
Hey Jon have you played Decrypto yet? I am curious on your thoughts of it. I have crosstalk and truth bombs but haven't had a chance to play them yet. Even more excited now after your review :D
I want to play!!!
quick question, 3 years ago there was a megagame "watch the skies 2" and su&sd have uploaded 2 videos about it. vimeo.com/124432757 at 00:18 is that you? great video btw
Yes, that is 100% me. I was chief scientist for Brazil and I discovered Sentient Bananas.
I think this is the part where you're told you have a two year old child
My uncle is planning a get together for his birthday and he’s entrusted me with handling the games. I don’t want to disappoint, so if you don’t mind me asking. what are your top 5 party games of all time?
Hay John. The Word Slam link is the German version.
Also I really want to support the channel more by using the amazon links but when I open them, it opens in the CZcams app browser not the amazon app. Is there anyway I can use the amazon app and you still get support?
Man I really want them to sell wits and wagers Vegas edition in the UK. I’ve seen a play through online and and it’s such a brilliant, elegant bit of design. Can’t wait to get one
I've fixed that Word Slam link, thanks for the heads up! As for the links, I'm not sure how it works in phone apps. I would hope that if you copied the link to your phone browser and it opened it up in the Amazon app it would still retain the info, but can't say for sure. I may look into it, but can't promise anything it!
I haven't played Debatable, but hearing that some topics are serious makes me say no way. I don't play party games to get feelings hurt and some of these would get heated. Something silly like 'is it ok to pee in the shower' is perfect. But a question of if Climate Change is real is not a silly topic (also, it's scientific consensus, so it's not an opinion like the pee shower thing is).
Good list, my groups LOVE Werewords so much. My wife said we HAVE to get When I Dream, but I was on the fence about Muse. Simply hearing how much you love it (and knowing that you tend to like the same games that I do) makes me go "blast, I gotta buy another game" :)
Well, it depends who you're playing with. I'm not likely to ever play with someone who believes Climate Change isn't real, so no-ones feelings are about to get hurt. And the debate is silly for everyone involved because we all agree deep down.
But even if you did feel that was an issue, there are 465 of debate topics in Debatable and most of them aren't likely to cause that issue. I probably picked a bad example, another "serious" topic is "Will World War III happen this century", i.e. you're arguing about something serious, but there isn't likely to be such strong divisive feelings connected to it that could make anyone upset.
Actualol wait climate change is real?

When I Dream has one problem, I do not need to buy the game, just one person closes his/hers eyes, and then, the others choose a word and ... this is IT.
Where can I get scribble time from please??
Hi Ellas! Did you find out where you can purchase this game? I can't find it either!
I'm looking also!
Love your videos. Do you know any that play well with large groups, about 15-25 people? Most games that I have played are usually good with only 6-8. I'm a high school teacher, so always looking for things that might work well in a classroom. Thanks!
Two Rooms and a Boom
Thanks Matt. I've never played it, but that was my first thought too. However, I'm not sure that is thematically appropriate in a school.
Ultimate Werewolf, Times Up, Monikers, Cranium Wow, Set, Funemployed and there probably are a few others that I'm missing.
Hi Daniel, I've racked my brain on this but there aren't many great options. I would say that Monikers could work with some big groups. Two Rooms and a Boom is the obvious one, but as you say the theme isn't suitable. Hive Mind could be played with any number of people if you ignore the board, but the scoring might be a bit drawn out with loads of players. Maybe Concept if you got the big play mat. Or Things, because it's just bits of paper. But really you're pushing all of them to work at that count, so they might not be at their best. Best of luck with it!
Minecraft
I've played The Chameleon multiple times but have never had it go over well. The rules are just too simple and the game is too fast. I think Spyfall does the same thing but better. I still have The Chameleon but mainly just for the cards. I'll probably try using Spyfall rules but with the cards from The Chameleon.
