ANWAR SAID: The iconic modernist of Islamabad’. Anwar alone was responsible for over 200 of the earlier amazing modernist buildings in the young capital.
He received his education in architecture from the Liverpool School of Architecture UK as a chartered architect RIBA and became a young perfectionist who trained many and mentored many at CDA; that he joined at the young age of 26 and nurtured design at the architectural department as Design Director for 36 years.
Anwar’s delicate sense of design is evident whether it was a public building, the Standard Chartered Bank building or the Bibi Fatima Church in Islamabad that we see almost every other day.
His work is a source of inspiration for many young and established architects of the capital city alike, as he has left a mark on the architectural heritage of Islamabad in his own lifetime, which is a unique Honor for any professional.

So sad to see that national assets ,which are masterpieces ,are in so miserable conditions. Other the sides if these masterpieces are in other European countries ,they must be in better conditions ,why we are just ..... ? what's I say he. So sad.

These buildings being case studies are good examples showing the failure of modern architecture, as the building form of mosques particularly was not accepted by the local residents. The evidence is an addition of minaret in imitation to Masjid Nabavi by the community. Further, architect has not taken care of the requirements of peoples like shoe keeping area. No consideration for mounting of public address system, air conditioning, illumination, etc. So much that the entrance was not at its place. This modular type planning was not in line with spirit of mosque architecture of Muslim world. Mr. Anwar Said was modernist who conceived the building forms without giving importance to the tradition of mosque architecture. He got opportunity to work for 32 years but it appear that the office environment and CDA administration has not permitted him to execute the design according to its original building form. He might be caught in web of system of execution under government procedure.
