Trying Out the New Post Hole Digger on My Kubota B2301

I acquired my first post hole digger for my Kubota B2301 compact tractor. I attempted to attach it to my Harbor Freight quick hitch only to find out that the way 3-point mounted post hole diggers work is that they need a certain mechanical geometry to work correctly, thus not compatible with a 3-point quick hitch.

I just bought a Stihl post hole digger, you have to wrestle it a bit but saves messing around with the installation of this tractor auger. I quite enjoy using it. If you are only doing one big job, fencing for example, I would rent one of those hydraulic post hole diggers from Homedepot if I didn't have the Stihl. I don't rate augers on the back of tractors at all and front augers are seriously expensive - around $2500 from what I saw this week at the Kubota dealer.

As you lower the auger, release the brakes on h to he tractor.
Other wise the the auger moving in an arc with bind a bit and drop dirt back in the hole

I would recommend building some sort of stand for the auger -- or at the very least hang it from a rafter in the garage/barn or from a tree. That alone will save time, frustration, and probably many curse words.

I would guess that the long handle is more than just counter balance I’m guessing once you get your auger started you probably leave it in float and use that handle for down pressure and guide the auger maybe I’m not sure. But it made a hole and it looked pretty straight so that’s a good thing. Lol
The thing in the bottom I believe they call crumbles same thing when you’re doing a trench, the bits just don’t pull all of the dirt out, a lot of people actually use a wet dry vac to get them out of there or just a manual post hole digger to get that little bit of dirt out, but that’s normal and I’m pretty sure they call it crumbles, something like that. Lol

To store it upright just dig a hole and leave it in the hole.

U HAVE TO DIG A BIT , THEN RAISE POST HOLE UP , CLEAN THE DIRT OFF , DIG AN OTHER FOOT , DO SAME THING AGAIN
WILL FIX ON YOUR QUICK HITCH
