Very nice video. Good job reviewing it. Can't wait to see more videos soon my friend. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work my friend. Forge On. Fab On. Weld On. Keep forge lit. Keep making. God bless.
thanks!
carefully check wheels before assembly. I had (4) 3" wheels and (2) 3 1/2" wheels. The reverse is what is needed.
thanks for the measurements, gonna try to fit this in my 2014 mustang minus the passenger seat 😎
You're welcome and good luck
Haha I kept thinking that shirt looks familiar until I got a good glimpse. Got same shirt lol.
My wife bought it for me.It's one of my favorite shirts
Picked this up yesterday, the hand truck tire exploded when I loaded it on. (Too much air in the tire) got some solid tires on it now. Had to drag in the basement.
Yeah man, this thing was HEAVY!
can u please tell me how long the legs are from caster to caster? i only have 4 ft of flat surface, want to make sure this will fit before i purchase. thx
I certainly can, will be awhile though. It's currently shoved in the far back of the shed.
Great vid thanks man helped a lot......
Any thoughts now that you had it a while ???
You're welcome. That's what this channel is all about. So, unfortunately, I've only used it once to set up my lathe. You can see it in my first lathe set-up video. So far, it has performed well.

How thick is the steel? I'm trying to figure out if I'll be better off building my own (heavier), or hack into one of these and modify it to connect to the hitch receiver of my truck.
Sorry for taking so long to get back to you. I keep the Crane in my shed now. And we had someone insane drifting with the weather lately, and I haven't been able to get in. I know exactly what modification you're talking about! The tubing for the bottom of the unit where the wheels attach is 11 gauge.
@@steelforestweldingandforge Thanks, good video.
Which crane would be best or adequate for lifting a Ford F150 bed off the truck? Would the 1 ton crane do the job safely or would I need the 2 ton crane?
Sorry, but I'm not a mechanic. I can't give you the accurate and safe information you need. I would start with finding out how much the bed weighs. That should help you narrow down your choices.
The bottom of the two red side arms go on the inside not the outside of the black base in the new models
You are correct. I didn't realise this until after I finished the assembly. But I didn't see a need to change the locations. So I just left it as is.
Can you use this on a pickup truck? My husband said it wouldn't work, not enough clearance.
Unfortunately, I can't give you a confident answer.
I watched to see how high this lifts, but it doesn't look like it would lift an engine high enough to get it over the radiator support?
I'll get back to you on how high it lifts.
what are those two collars sliding on the legs for?
Unfortunately, I don't know. They are listed in the bill of materials as simply "sliders." And their function is never mentioned in the instructions.
Do you know what the slides on the fold out legs are used for? Is there any reason why you installed the support braces on the outside of the base frame instead of placing them on the inside as per instruction booklet? We just purchased on of these and we are curious about the location of the braces. Thank you for a detailed review!
No, I'm not sure what the slides are for. I had assumed they locked the legs or held them in the upright position. But that doesn't seem to be the case. The supports with the bends on my parts didn't line up well with the holes when installed on the inside. They fit better installed on the outside. That's the only reason.
@@steelforestweldingandforge Thank you for the reply.
Currently halfway through assembly. Got to the thin braces. Tried the inside as per the pictures. Didn't fit. Rage quit. Will try them on the outside tomorrow. Thanks!
I noticed they didn't fit on the insides as well@@steelforestweldingandforge
@@dennisparks3692 Yeah i'm still a loss at what they're for
Do you think it will lift my 7.5L 460?
I'm not a car guy unfortunately, I can't give you a yes or no. All depends on how much that engine weighs.
@@steelforestweldingandforge about 600. im going to go with the 2 ton if i end up doing it. the truck sits up pretty high too.
@ethanelectric1024 it's a 1 ton. Should be good
@@nauidiver227 I was able to find a 3ton on market place for $270. I'm glad I found it and was able to go that route.
Just in case anyone in the future is struggling with assembly and parts not lining up, keep all the bolts real loose until it is all together. Then tighten them. It needs to be a bit wobbly to get the holes to line up
Good advice
Support brackets did not fit in the holes they were supposed to go in. They were too short so we just skipped that step. Wasted so much time on something so little.
Thx for the feedback. Good to know. Did you put the unit together loose, or tighten as you went?
😎😎😀😀😅🥰🥰🥰🥰🥲🥲LMAO! (10:42) Just imagine that hoist: ontop of a Lifted Subaru - and the backside, ((I would have to install 4 inch wheels, for the drag ramps - to the top of Custom Bed railing rack - thick wire messing. 😎😎🫠🥹🙃🙃🤡🤡😏😏 Then the cops will be pulling me over for carrying {{heavy arms}} - 🤡🤡🤡🥲🥲🥲 Serious: they be that stupid here/!\
😎😎🥰🥰🥰🥰🤌🤌💁♂Awesome Demo: (9:29) I think I can get 2 legs and hydraulic centered sideways in Rack. - Worse case scenario - on the side of the road or parking lot. =
🤔🤔🤔🤔💁♂ Guess, I will have to use ((All Thread Steel to replace top bolt? - as a steer handle)) + Eye loop on Top of Staff - for front wench to grab a tow loop. == 3 wheel loadable: with some drilling of course.+ reversing the legs with wheels - might have to cut back steal
Thanks for watching i'm glad you liked it. I've seen a lot of people make custom modifications to these cranes.
