    Driving is the easy part
    But dealing with the knob heads on the road that's the real challenge, I think Alot of people forget what mirrors and indicators are used for on their car ,
    just how lazy you gotta be to not indicate
    The indicator is like a inch away from the steering wheel.
    Nowadays other drivers expect you to be psychic.

    • @happydays9613
      @happydays9613 Před 5 lety +8

      @zak anyone that tailgates me, I drop the speed right down and make them know this lady will not be bullied on the road. They get it and have to slow down or over-take. To me that inconvenienced them so my point is made. Not everyone they try to intimidate is going to cave in.
      As a new driver you are intimated but I was passed that about 6 months after passing and never looked back. Dash cams work and stickers at the rear of the car to let them know, you have one.
      Indicating a little harder as you have to be alert. White Vans, Taxi Drivers, boy racers and idiots in bigger cars tend to avoid indicating. Again a dash cam helps.
      I totally agree with your comment.

      I always say this! I LOVE driving. I HATE other drivers.
      Whenever I’m at a lights or a give way etc, I always leave double room between me and the car in front. So that if the car behind is so far up my back end that I think they want to try and make babies with my land rover, I can inch forward a bit.
      My rear view mirror is a dashcam fitted just above my license plate and some get SO close, all I can see is the inside of their car through the windscreen.

      Agreed. It also doesn't help that blinkers on a lot of newer cars are barely audible. Especially if you're traveling above 40km/h. (Sorry - metric system :P)

      @@jameskennedy6771 Did you take into account the internal and external noise that can hinder ones hearing before making that expected remark?
      Not to twist some elementary deductive thinking on you, Willie. But different car vendors and models support a multitude of varying indicator sounds and tones. Of which some, to a suprising extend, are less prominent than others - especially in motion.
      After spending 8 years of driving cars modelled as early as 1999, to late 2017, those ticks have definitely gotten quieter. And going back to Honeybee's comment (ignoring the learning part) when you're focused, those ticks, if not audible, can easily phase out.
      But alas, I guess you expect everyone to have 20/20 hearing like yourself. You should be proud, your narsassim is truly an inspiration. Hearing the screams of people whom get cut off by you and merge into daily.

    Bless her. You can tell she's a good student and has been trying very hard to get better. It's obvious she's nervous (1st gear, handbrake, leaving the indicator on) and probably hasn't driven outside her little test route at home. Whoever's taught her to hold the steering wheel so low down has done her a disservice as that's giving her so little control and she's swerving around. She has a great temperament for a driver though, and that's something you can't teach.

    Passed on Wednesday with 2 minors, and the examiner said it was one of the busiest he'd ever seen the route. These videos were a great help. It was the wyldney test centre, which is quite a nice one for any of you Brummies. I was pretty pleased as I've only driven for 25 hours, all in lessons as I didn't (and don't) have a car to practice in.
    Thanks for the videos, and good luck Caroline.
    Tip for anyone, see if you can learn with the radio on, only quiet but it helped me in my test as I was used to it and it broke up the silence at times, so the test wasn't awkward.

    A tip for other learner drivers, I know it feels safer closer to the curb when there's oncoming cars. But you can see much more easily the space you have out of your own window, so it's perfectly fine to stick close to the central broken line. You'll be able to gauge more easily too if you do need to give space to a larger vehicle by moving nearer the curb.

    • @Anonymous-fj2uo
      @Anonymous-fj2uo Před 5 lety

      I tend to use my window wipers as a reference point. The centre of the window wipe usually indicates if you're too close to the kerb or not. If the centre/slightly left of centre falls near the kerb, the car is usually in a good position.

    Caroline did really well. I think she has a good attutide, which arguably is the most important things when it comes to driving. Just small improvements in confidence more than anything need ot be made. I think the curb hugging thing is more to do with fear of on coming traffic. I think we forget that there is going to be some nerves because of the camera as well as just being in a test envirnoment, being judged and the silence.

    It looks like Wolverhampton test route is one of the toughest test routes in UK after Belvedere with so many confusing roundabouts. You can do the same mistake and fail in one test centre but pass in the other. I kept failing in the Belvedere test centre London with 2-3 minors and 1 serious fault four times. After that, I changed my test centre to Hither green and passed with only one minor.
    I feel like the test is all about luck and how examiners treat you. My examiner in Hither green was super friendly so I wasn't that nervous there as much as I used to be in Belvedere where examiners treat you like a prisoner. Even after passing my test, I still enjoy watching your videos.

      I can relate to this
      Passed my test in Erith test Centre
      Erith and Belvedere are cousins I guess.
      Very difficult routes and not so nice examiners.
      An examiner in Erith test centre spoke so rudely to me during one of my driving test and I got so nervous n stalled three times on a hill.
      I took up the challenge n continued till I passed at Erith Test centre.
      Will definitely not recommend those centres to anyone

    When I learnt to drive cars, ride motorbikes, drive buses, coaches and trucks we were always taught to keep moving if at all possible and plan ahead. Never ever get to the point at a roundabout (for example) where you may have to stop then look.. Always best to look as you roll up to the exit point and be looking to adjust your speed and time it right so all you have to do is slow down, then move off again.. It is much more economical and a smoother ride. As long as the vehicle hasn't come to a complete stop 2nd gear is usually always ok to be in.. I think that white car undertaking her unnerved her a bit. Quickest most effect method I found to slow down a bit was to foresee a problem just before it occurred and ease of on the accelerator first and or change down a gear if needed... like when going down a hill or steep incline for example.... then only brake if need be.. 3 or 4 times max or the vehicle driver behind can get irate and cheesed off at your flashing break lights every few seconds. I know I use to as well.
