Karan has a week before his actual practical driving test. He does a mock driving test so we can identify any issues with his driving.
Overall, Karan drives well but still makes some serious driving faults. One of these serious faults is very common.
This video was uploaded a week after it had been filmed so by this time Karan had taken his real driving test. We reveal his driving test result at the end of the video.
We hope you find this video useful.

Glad he passed his test, he seemed to be a very good driver. Nice car to be learning it, the interior is unmistakably a previous model A class.

written off my car that day bloody Tuesday
@OMAR ELATTAR 2 days! Good Luck
i have mine on the 28 of feb.
I failed my 2nd test on Tuesday, same thing as the first test wrong lane on a roundabout and got a serious hopefully 3rd time lucky!...... because I’m poor 😂
K Rose dont sweat it you will definitely pass the next one!
Passed my test yesterday with 2 minors! These videos really helped. Yet I'm still here watching lol.
I really like this channel man good job 👍🏼
Passed my test today, first time with 1 minor, these videos help a lot thankyou😎
lewis S how much hours had you done beforehand pal?
Thanks for uploading another mock video. This video is best in instructions, explaining plus and minus points. Keep uploading.🙈🧐
Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
I prefer the full version those r so much better oh well keep up the good work it's great
You are correct, SO many drivers do not move to the left lane on dual carriageways and motorways. Many drivers believe that you use which lane you want as they all go ahead.
Many do not realise that it is now illegal to 'hog' the middle or right lane as you are blocking people from overtaking, this then encourages tailgating and road rage, it also effectively makes a 2 lane road into a 1 lane road and a 3 lane road into a 2 lane, so causes congestion.
I failed for not moving to the left lane on a dual carriageway :(
If you drove in the left hand lane in Germany you would literally get pushed off the road... Even if Ur going 250+ khm move back to the middle cuz there's always people faster than you. Here in UK you get these pricks that drive in the right hand lane and done move out the way cuz for them it's ok as they are 'doing the speed limit' bullshit gtfo the way.....
@@Subieej20 well you shouldn't really be doing over the speed limit anyways should you? It's there for a reason. Only overtake if necessary not to go 100mph past someone.
This was an excellent mock test and the changes you've made to the length of video etc. make it much more easy to watch. Thank you. X
S McK Thank you 😊
Didn’t know there was someone creeping in the back till the end 😂
Wow in the UK it looks much more difficult than the US or at least than my road test in New York that practically lasted 5 minutes lol this is like a whole driving session time
Yup it’s takes ages, and so much money

Thanjs DGN the m9ck test videos are great! Helped me clear practical test today! Cheers!
Just passed after watching a few of these videos, thanks they really helped.

Love your videos! Have you done a Pass Plus video with one of your students? Would like to see what it entails.
I'm now 7 & a half hours into instructor lessons and I'm still enjoying it. The Ultimate Driving Course still a big help prior to lessons.
Had my test today, been watching your videos and they are so helpful!!
Is it difficult? Which manouvre you did?
Just want to say I've been watching your mock Test videos they are really great very helpful and feel lot comfortable I've just start learning to drink now n will be in touch for a mock when I think am ready for one
I’m getting addicted to these Vids 🤪🤣 well done to Karan 👌 but most of all this instructor seems so dwn to earth 😉
If only I hadn’t passed hey 😂😂
I just now, a bit late, checked this channel. I feel I shouldn't bring up my test today, since there may be a jinx kinda effect, but I'm getting so much great info from this video alone. Today, I will have a 1 hour lesson in the morning, a 1 hour lesson in the afternoon, and right after the latter, I will have my third driving test ahead of me. I've taken and booked up 10 extra hours in between the second and third test attempt. I've learned so much in preparation of the third test, such as that I can press the brake without hitting the clutch, which is very helpful and good to know for when I come across intersections where we yield to vehicles coming in from the right (right lane traffic in my country), since the said intersections have no yield signs anywhere.
Your channel is easily on my top 3 list of driving related channels.
Vikingboar how did ur test go bro
@@d.l.4899 I had a much different instructor, who was a male in his 50s, and he was much more understanding of my mistakes. I passed, and now my license arrived via mail. The only basic mistakes I did, were the following:
-Trying to get into the next lane for turning, but it wasn't possible, so we had to move on. I had already creeped a bit into the said lane, but it was possible to return to my lane safely, and the first thing I did, was mirror check.
-Getting into a motorway safely, but accidentally leaving the signal on for 5-10 seconds after picking my lane, which was to the right. (right side traffic here)
Also a very funny situation before the said motorway. I stopped for red light, and I noticed that car A intended to go from 3 o'clock to 9 o'clock, but maybe panicked or was simply just way too late to go on. There was a second car behind him, car B, and both were sandwiched between my exit road at 12 o'clock, and the stop line behind them. When it was my time to go, I tried to do everything to make sure that nothing would go wrong. I checked my mirrors, since I'd have to turn a bit around car A, whose nose was in my way by a little bit. As I moved off, car A looked like it would've tried to "fix" its situation, and drive forward, but suddenly stopped. Car B wasn't happy about it, since he must have had to break really hard due to car A, so he horned at A, pretty much due to A trying to see if he could make it.
I'll come back later after checking my feedback, and give you more details. I'm gonna need it.
Vikingboar nice bro good luck next time I'm sure you'll pass
@@d.l.4899 I did pass. Pardon me if you got confused. I didn't write the part about me passing the test into its own separate part on my comment. Also, I accidentally said "instructor", when I meant to say "examiner", whom reviewed my test.
Karan!! You smashed it brooo 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
Ahah thanks!
Thanks for all the videos! Passed my test today with 3 minors.
only ONE minor? omds that's amazing, well done
Because of some of your tips and videos I passed my test today ! Thanks alot man
Peter Soska Congratulations, well done!
I passed my driving test a week ago. Thanks Ultimate driving course. I never had it and watch it. But thanks anyway!
ur videos are sooooo helpful but one a humble request plz ..at the end if u show the faults in video clips that be more easier for us..Thanks👍
Passed Jan 2018 with one minor fault and still watching these😂
Looking forward to another mock test 😀
Really helpful thanks 🙏 a lot
Great stuff! One thing I don’t like about Mercedes cars is the handbrake. For anyone wondering, the handbrake is foot operated. It’s next to the clutch pedal. That’s how you engage the handbrake. The release is a little lever down by the right side of the wheel. I’m guessing they have hill hold for hill starts.
Aaah really,? Great insights been wondering what the guy is doing everything time at the door, I thought he kept opening the door lol😂😂😂
Good video and good instructor. One thinks for me is if you can change your interior image on the right top corner.
Hi, which test route would you recommend out of Redditch, Dudley and Wolverhampton for taking a driving test? Thanks
He's. Good driver. The instructor has a nice voice.
Subtitles: ‘hi guys this is pin bending from degenerate in school’
When I did my driving test my instructor came with me in the car. I tried very hard to concentrate.
Tbh the round about turn left 2nd exit I would have done same as him thinking the left lane was the first left turn only. I got my test tomorrow. Here's hoping I don't do the same lol
Natalie Blades A lot of people do the same. They think the left arrow means first exit only but there could be more than one exit that turns left. Always check out the roundabout sign. Good luck for your test.
To be fair, the sign on approach to that roundabout indicated the 2nd exit was slightly left and ahead. Even experienced drivers can find themselves in the wrong lane when driving on unfamiliar roads. The only difference is that experienced drivers know they need to check it’s safe before changing lanes. In this example, the pupil checks his mirrors then changed lanes, and so was still safe in his driving. A driving examiner has to ensure that the candidate drives to a safe standard, and in some situations, can let procedurally incorrect driving go so long as the drive itself is still safe. On a real driving test, assuming the exact same scenario happened as in this video, I would suggest the examiner would assess that fault as a driver fault, due to ambiguous signage on approach coupled with an inexperienced driver who remained safe as the driver made sure their actions did not endanger or inconvenience any other road user. In the video, it could only be a serious fault if another driver was in the left lane and his actions caused that driver to slow down. It would then be dangerous if there was a car directly alongside and he still attempted to change lanes, forcing an intervention from the examiner/instructor.
Stu Askew Good point and assessment. Totally agree with what you’re saying but the 2nd exit is classed as a left turn (anything before 12 o’clock on the roundabout sign is classed as a left turn). It is a difficult one.
Im so confused about this
Well lucky for me I didn't get a roundabout like that. I had my test Friday and passed 1st time with 3 minors. I'm still in shock lol
I'm in Australia and usually when only start the car after the instructor and I have discussed what we're going to do and whereabouts I wil be driving to/from.
We got stuck in heavy traffic once, time was up and I got a free-ride (kinda) back home. To be fair though, I had no idea of how to get home so I was lost anyway...
Passed nearly a year ago took me years to pass but im here watching this 😂
I'm quite surprised that it has to be quiet during the test. Here in the Netherlands you can either talk to the examiner or listen to the radio (not too loud ofcourse) if the student wants to.
MrHenkkkie It’s the same here, you can talk to the examiner but they try not to start conversations when you’re moving as the learner may lose concentration.
I had music playing quietly on all my lessons and my test - helped to keep me calm.
Got my test on the 11th March. Been watching this type of video constantly for a week.
Did u pass
respect for the instructor
I passed literally a week ago lmao ur videos helped so much
just a question, how is getting confused on directions a driver fault, especially if they just asked you
シTheCødyMavrick2.0ツ You’re right, that wasn’t a driving fault. I just wanted to put that in to show you guys that it’s okay to ask. Maybe I should have explained it better.
シTheCødyMavrick2.0ツ that’s why we need to survey the road before apply for a driving lesson i mean.. i dont mind if i have to sleep on the road as long as i can get my licence 😅
Humble Bumblebee i think its fine to learn on the go if you are ready by the time the test comes
Congratulations
Quick question instructors i have here would go mad when reversing they always say you should be looking where your going so out the back window
I always thought and they always complain. But why teach to look out the back window if you have a van or something you have to use mirrors
Great Videos, so what mirror should I check when overtaking a park car?
Second question.. With automatic car, when waiting in a queue should engage the handbrake?
I've been told by my instructor to check the middle and right mirror when overtaking a parked car, but check the left when going back into normal road position just In case.
The people who are saying that the mock test videos are too long, are the same people who are unable to concentrate for long periods , which makes them dangerous drivers.
I want to continue to watch these videos
Hi Pin, how would you feel about doing a Mock test for an already qualified driver, I try to keep my driving standard high and wouldn't mind getting it tested to see how it fares, im 43 and want to check no bad habits have crept in over the years
ricardo thomas that would be fine
@@DGNDriving that's great what's your availability
I'm near the bilston test centre and hopefully it will be yourself
I have my license and yet I'm confused by those filter lights😆(I still would have gone but I don't understand what those red lights are for) , could someone explain them please
edit: on second thought I think I understand now, the red lights were for the cars in the right hand lane wanting to turn right only I think
Ahmed Tagelsir Yes you’re right. The green arrows are pointing straight and left which means anyone going straight or turning left can continue. There is no arrow pointing right so the red light is for anyone who wants to go right.
Hi Instructor,
I like and am a fan of your videos.
I failed my test recently for lane decoupling, something similar which Karan also made and you didn’t noticed or mentioned.
It was on a bit roundabout, when he exited the roundabout while he was in the right only lane. You can check that on recording at 13:37 timeline and after then when he exits.
Please can you confirm if that was correct to do?
The left lane starts at the other entrance, and since the lines are dashed, it's okay to cross it, lane discipline is for when you cross lanes when you don't need to
Good info, mate. I shall gander on and learn more! LIKED agus SUBSCRIBED
Keith Plunkett Thank you.
Good sir...
u have to be in the left lane to turn 2rd left which was pretty much straight on anyway iv never heard of that before i would never do that people would think ur turning 1st left and pull out in front of u
Pass my practical test yesterday first time
I know you said that the examiner is not talking to you and i respect that however i got a friendly instructor and we chatted all the test about motorcycles and cars and stuff as i was riding for a year and a bit, and I’m a petrol head too and managed to pass it with 1 minor
Yammie_ Brandon Yes you’re right some examiners are chatty and really friendly.
Very unprofessional of him.
Is the handbrake on the right side of the steering wheel in this Merc?
Hi, I have a question. In a 3 lane roundabout (not spiral), if we're taking the third exit past the 12 o'clock, is it okay if we enter the middle lane on approach, and then move over to the left lane after the second exit just before we exit? I think my instructor said it's easier than having to cross over 2 lanes just before exiting if we had been in the right lane. Is that okay?
Yes that's absolutely fine.
19:57 seems a bit harsh given it looks like he has to stop again anyway
Do they do mock tests at featherstone?
One thing I don't understand is 17:52. How can it be a driving fault to look and be cautious of cars in front of you coming from the left. Even if they don't have priority shouldn't you be watching them in case they decide to pull out?
I failed on the exact same thing 2 days ago. I now have to wait 2 months for my test
Where did you failed
😂 😂 He failed a diving test. Is this swimming 🤣
Bryan 22 😂😂😂 What you on about?
Thanks, I’ve just corrected it!
DGN Driving School maybe i need earwax because i dont care as long as my brain can understand what the video trying to show to me 😅
that route though! jeez
Can you put the time markings of the faults and major faults then the discussion at the end in the description?
Look for the ads ;)
Left second exit! I believe he can go into middle lane. Its like going straight.
His first roundabout he didn't even check the blind spot..
Or move over soon enough
Harry Frankham oh shutup Harry
@@Shakattack45 what r u gonna do shark boy🦈🙄🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@Shakattack45 shak*🤣🤣🤣
damn i didnt even know about staying on the left lane
do not rest hand on gearbox, it damages bearings, only touch it to change gears
good job
You didn't notice or at least didn't say anything about blind spot checks on dual carriageways
Nathan Sherwood Hi, they are not always necessary. Mirrors are sufficient enough. You can do a quick sideways check if you want.
do you check both mirrors both mirrors when exiting a roundabout straight ahead
Where is the handbrake in your car?
Lee Miller I was thinking the same
Some cars have a button for handbrake
Lee Miller This car has an electric handbrake. It’s like a pull/push switch. On this car it’s towards the right of the steering wheel, that’s why you’ll notice the learners right hand pressing it to put it on/off.
E brake u pull up it goes on and bitting point+ gas pedal moves that car off
I want to take a lesson with him before my test but they are so far from mine 😔😔😔
There are lots of other Instructors running you tube channels doing exactly the same thing as this channel. Find another one, closer to where you live.
Point for hesitation was well uncalled for. If you want to let somebody go then you have every right too 🤷🏼♂️ even with priorities it’s the drivers discretion
nope, its classed as poor decision making and observational error. if you have right of way and its clear, you go. you dont get points on being polite lol
I wish his covering Manchester 😜
MashAllah
I did not understand the filter traffic lights with green arrow ????
Am I the only one whos passed yet still watches these videos?
Nope hahahaha
Wait I’m confused at his major driving fault. I get that the right lane is used for overtaking/right turns but I don’t see why he had to go into the left lane as soon as the lane appeared? I’m either being really dumb or really dumb😂
This isn't a drag against the instructor himself in this video, but examiners/instructors give minors for the most stupid of things. Hesitation for example, what's the point in that? He clearly thought that it was safer to hold back rather than go (17:34), which is understandable because other road users can be unpredictable, so I think that shouldn't be a fault. He was doing what was safest in my opinion🤷🏽♀️
millie X yeah it's sad how they care more about hesitation than being safe. Even if your obstructing and creating traffic it's better to be safe than sorry.
1000 subs with no vids exactly!! Finally someone with logic
Question? Can i use my own car for driving lessons?
Jadah Mastura yes you can , as long as it’s insured, has MOT , taxed, has L plates on and also a mirror for the examiner , you can find all information on gov website
For my first mini mock test i got 5 minors n one dangerous
17:55 that yellow car was legit on the verge of moving onto the roundabout if he had went I doubt it would have pulled back not really a fault
The fault the learner exhibited related to undue hesitation. The root cause was the learners lack of action on approach to the roundabout. He does not scan to the right to know what the situation will be when he arrives at the give way line. You always need to know what traffic is approaching the roundabout from your right, which way they are signalling and intending to turn, in addition are vehicles already on the roundabout coming round past your road and finally who is on the road ahead of you. There is a lot to do approaching roundabouts. If a vehicle is ahead of you you need to remember that and still make the other observations. It is tempting to just draw up and stop but this will give a bad result on test if it is found to have been safe to keep going and take your priority. If you make all the checks on approach you can anticipate what will be the appropriate action for you when you arrive at the give way line, you already know.
ITS RIYADH MAHREZ!!

Dont test examiners get you to do bay or parallel parking too? Just started my lessons so confused as to if thats still part of a test
Okay. So they get you to do either or both. if you’re lucky u only have to do one. Best thing for u first is to get good at the clutch and gears and getting relaxed when doing them. Then you’ll learn mirrors, parking etc.
Unit G im learning in an automatic mate so after 2 lessons in already doing roundabouts and done a dual carriageway this last lesson so moving quite fast, instructor thinks im 10 hours away from a test so im starting to watch parking vids etc! Thanks though pal 👍
@@georgep7925 the examiner won't ask you to do both parallel and bay!! You will only be asked to do one manoeuvre and possibly emergency stop. There are four manoeuvres and you will be asked to do only one. These are: 1) forward bay parking, 2) reverse bay parking, 3) parking on the right and reverse two cars length, and the 4th) is the bloody parallel parking. Good luck! Am learning automatic too, have don 21 lessons so far, so hopefully will do my test soon. Best decision to learn automatic and good luck :)
NA66 35 100% im happy that i chose auto as only ever wanted to drive auto’s due to family etc all saying they prefer it!
Thank you for the info and big good luck for when you have your test!
At some point during my lessons I was really upset why I was wasting my time struggling to learn manual car instead of automatic, in this 21st century; when driverless cars are coming in few years from now 🤷🏽♂️
Driverless cars will definitely not be coming for now
It’s not compulsory to learn to drive on a manual car. You can learn on an automatic, and you can also take your test on an automatic, if you want to, but the driving licence you receive will be a licence to drive automatic cars only. Your licence will not permit you to drive a manual car.
He’s not changing lanes on the roundabout tho so why does he have to check mirrors
Because there are Cyclists, motorbikes, pedestrians, loose dogs, children, police cars and ambulances, …… you never know who is going to get in your way.
How is being confused about directions a minor? I think that’s a bit harsh
Amirah Tianne It’s not a fault. Just pointing out that he was confused but did the right thing by asking to make sure.
Where are u based ?

14:55 no way, i thought he was right
