How To Refill Brake Fluid On A Motorcycle

- In this video I show you how to refill the brake system with new brake fluid. This works for single-calliper setups as well as dual-calliper setups. If you just want to bleed your brake system go to minute-4:30 to see how you can do that. Don't forget to refill the brake fluid reservoir before it's completely empty (otherwise you'll get air in the system again).
This is part four of the custom brake line series, in which I've measured, and installed custom brake lines on the BMW R80. If you want to watch the other episodes from this series, here are the links:

Nice informative video! Love your journey ... cant wait to see it finished! Btw if your bike have have dual caliper you should bleed from the farthest point first. In this case it should be your left caliper. It should avoid bubbles getting back to the right caliper you just finished. And I usually have a spray bottle with water by my side. Sometimes there are spaces your towel cant reach to, so I use water at the end of process to neutralize.
Thanks mate I appreciate you! That’s great advice. I’ll keep that in mind for the next time and pin your comment for everyone else.
Awesome mate. And I’m looking forward to your part list. It’s one of the hardest things to find not only the parts we need but the supplier!
Hi Rob, I appreciate it. I agree, finding the right parts and the shops to buy them from is such a tedious process. That’s why I’m sure the build sheet will be super handy and it’s a way to support the channel. Have a good one my friend!
Very descriptive, thank you!
Thank you, I appreciate it 🙏
Really clear and straight to the point! Great!
I also have a giant syringe in my toolbox, but I actually use it to reverse bleed. When I have a completely empty system, I fill it up with fresh brake fluid, attach it to the caliper and push. Since air wants to travel upwards it will make the system easier to fill. I also do it when I'm hunting those last tiny bubbles in my system. I just push them all the way up to the master cylinder.
Ah, that’s actually a great tip. Gonna try that the next time 👌
