when i was in middle school and discovered this album, my world was changed. i had thought at the time that Waking the Fallen was the best album ever made by man hahha. it has aged pretty well as well
Ballad of a Downfall yes the writing itself and structuring is actually better than most bands these days. if it were recorded today, avenged would probably play in drop b tuning and have this album produced by joey sturgis xD. the fact that neither of these things apply is what helps make this great

Although I didn’t feel anger at him, but I did feel furious at people who kept him feeling like he lived a pointless life in misery. He was a metalhead like most of my circle, helped me through highschool and was always a funny guy. I guess the best thing people can do is just be there for others when they need others. Still a kickass track!

Parts 1 and 2 are a fucking emotional ride. Especially for someone who has gone through ANY kind of coping w someone they knew that committed suicide whether its a friend, family member or a significant other. As sad as you can be it also pisses you off like they betrayed you. As someone w depression and knowing the feelings and thoughts of dying both of these are allllll too relatable. VERY well done musically and lyrically these pack a fuckin punch

My younger brother committed suicide last weekend by overdosing on something. He was found with headphones on, presumably listening to something. This is his youtube account. He made a playlist containing 6 songs that was edited the day he passed. This is one of the 6 songs. With the method he used, he was dead after about 30 minutes, probably unconscious around 12 minutes. I like to think that it was peaceful for him with his music on. I love you Myles, I'll miss you everyday for the rest of my life

Great song. I don't think this song gets as much credit as it should get. The first part's really emotional and sad, but this part, as heavy and brutal as it is, is also very emotional, as it's talking about M. Shadow's reaction to fomer member's Justin Sane's suicide attempt (which the first part is largely about and has lyrics based on a suicide he note before attempting to kill himself), and it shows off Shadow's fustration and anger about it very well. The beginning sounds like him screaming in anger after discoving his best friend just tried to kill himself, while expressing how pissed he and everyone Justin cares about is that he abandoned them. Then the song talks about how depressed he is from the aftermath, and hints at him possibly getting to his own breaking point of wanting to kill himself. A really deep song when you look into it, almost as deep as the first part is.

It's the perspective through the friend of the person who killed themselves. The friend who killed themselves was all depressed and sad and the tone was very calm yet sad, and this part is all rage, anger, and devastated by his friends suicide. I can imagine the fade between these 2 songs, the friend slowly slips away and then it switches to the scene of the thoughts inside the friends head being all distorted and chaotic.

Today I noticed my new favourite band Pantera (their main influence) has a really similar song called Suicide Note Part 2. I always counted the first and second part as just one long song so its equally awesome as the first

I'm not a metalcore fan by any means, but I love A7X.
Parts 1 and 2 are a fucking emotional ride. Especially for someone who has gone through ANY kind of coping w someone they knew that committed suicide whether its a friend, family member or a significant other. As sad as you can be it also pisses you off like they betrayed you. As someone w depression and knowing the feelings and thoughts of dying both of these are allllll too relatable. VERY well done musically and lyrically these pack a fuckin punch

My younger brother committed suicide last weekend by overdosing on something. He was found with headphones on, presumably listening to something. This is his youtube account. He made a playlist containing 6 songs that was edited the day he passed. This is one of the 6 songs. With the method he used, he was dead after about 30 minutes, probably unconscious around 12 minutes. I like to think that it was peaceful for him with his music on. I love you Myles, I'll miss you everyday for the rest of my life

I mean, I know this is a song with two parts, but I find it really awesome how they put a little bit of part 1 into part 2.
Great song. I don't think this song gets as much credit as it should get. The first part's really emotional and sad, but this part, as heavy and brutal as it is, is also very emotional, as it's talking about M. Shadow's reaction to fomer member's Justin Sane's suicide attempt (which the first part is largely about and has lyrics based on a suicide he note before attempting to kill himself), and it shows off Shadow's fustration and anger about it very well. The beginning sounds like him screaming in anger after discoving his best friend just tried to kill himself, while expressing how pissed he and everyone Justin cares about is that he abandoned them. Then the song talks about how depressed he is from the aftermath, and hints at him possibly getting to his own breaking point of wanting to kill himself. A really deep song when you look into it, almost as deep as the first part is.

Both part 1 and 2 are flawless
It's the perspective through the friend of the person who killed themselves. The friend who killed themselves was all depressed and sad and the tone was very calm yet sad, and this part is all rage, anger, and devastated by his friends suicide. I can imagine the fade between these 2 songs, the friend slowly slips away and then it switches to the scene of the thoughts inside the friends head being all distorted and chaotic.

Today I noticed my new favourite band Pantera (their main influence) has a really similar song called Suicide Note Part 2.
