Yeah dude...i remember when this album came out, I was in high school. I would sit in my room and listen to this so many times, and the chorus always gave me goosebumps. Fucking incredible. It still does.
A few years ago in my senior year of Highschool I couldn't come up with an idea for a short story for Creative Writing, then when I was listening to this album this sang came on and the opening line "2 nights ago I was shot, a bullet sank straight through my head, a friend pulled the trigger that silenced me" was all I needed and built a story around it because I wondered why someones friend would shoot them, not sure if that counts as stealing the lyric so much as being inspired by it (seeing as how I didn't copy any of the words in the story) my point is go ahead steal it just know Plagiarism is illegal so maybe don't copy it word for word.
Its also CZcams, not a spelling contest. You should shut the fuck up and sit down with that child shit when someone is paying their respects to such a man.
I love all of A7X's songs/albums, but nothing beats the Waking the Fallen album. Chapter Four, Eternal Rest, Reminissions, I Won't See You Tonight, Second Heartbeat, Radiant Eclipse, etc. are absolute masterpieces.
It’s 2017 they still haven’t and probably never will but I guess it’s okay because Matt would ruin it for me by singing the scream parts in this particular song it would sound strange to sing the scream bits
The single most underrated song in A7X's catalog! God I hope they do a Waking The Fallen 20th anniversary tour, so I can finally hear this track live....
@@BoOgEdYmAn Yea, unfortunately I came here to say exactly this. Matt will never be able to perform these tracks again, his voice is damaged from the years of screams/growls
+SGT EpicSpeed The album bro. Because Rev wrote most of that album in terms of his drum fills. Portnoy just finshed the end. And after that album it just sucked ass. Songs like Hail to the king made me want to vomit. I will admit Shepard of fire is good though, and no I don't hate arin.
I thought Hail to the King (the song) was good, so as Doing Time and Shepherd of Fire. But I do agree the HtK album isn't a good one. Least favorite of them all was This Mean War (and I think we all know why). Didn't say anything about Arin so I don't think you had to say that.
+Cyler s He can still sing like this easily lmao. This only peaks at Bb4. He's sung higher live and still sings higher live, usually going to C5. He can still sing and scream this song. They never played this song live and probably never will for whatever reason.
+ExternusArmy I don't know if he can still scream like this. I saw them back a year or so ago, and he was amazing singing but when he screamed it was kinda weak
TJ Ulrich His voice has been really tired recently so. 2014 was a really tiring year because he would play 1-2 hour shows so many times that his voice was thinning out, both in singing and in screaming.

that doesn't make it a good song?? Just because he can play fast on guitar doesn't mean anything. synyster did better work on city of evil as far as guitar solos and what sounds fitting.
I just love this song so much. That intro is little a huge locomotive building up speed, until BAM! Amazing song with some of the most metal lyrics ever written. Love it.
Syn took an extra step with his guitar abilities and hearing the Rev sing on the album makes it fantastic, especially Fiction and seeing it live with an empty piano playing

The first time I heard this song, the chorus gave me chills. The Rev was an amazing song writer.
the rev didn't write a single thing for this band until atleast city of evil

Avenged Sevenfold is their own genre of music and i love that.
I would definitely have to agree with someone.

The chorus part at 3:16 is so fucking amazing. One of the catchiest and most badass parts of a song ever made.
Sean Rushford yeah the guitar part is really well written there
Gotta be one of the best clean vocal choruses in metaldom.

“Close your eyes and look away. Faith exposed and won’t let me stay. Hope will fall tonight with broken wings, descending entity in me”

DanK NacHo nah this is totally metalcore
James Gorman for real?
Im more of a heavy, thrash metalhead but this is awesome

Sounds like the beginning of ksherwoodop's "The One" in guitar. That changes when the other guitar and drums join.
