As someone who's started off playing Gen 1, I can honestly say that Gen 4 is my personal favorite out of all the gens. There's something about the new features that GameFreak added and the story, that made me invest over a thousand hours on the Diamond and Platinum when I was a kid.
gen 4 and gen 5 were the best imo
@@altreon3608 Its 2nd for me
Pokemon SoulSilver was my first Pokemon game. And it will always be great because if that. But imo gen 5 is much better overall, great engaging story, good Pokemon designs, graphics were better, and only being able to find new Pokemon until the postgame, made the entire game feel like a fresh experience.
But that's just my opinion, feel free to politely disagree.
Overrated opinion tbh. Gen 3 takes the cake for me. Don't get me wrong, gen 4 is amazing, I just don't think it deserves title of best.
@@theultimategamer95 how can an opinion be "overrated"?
I absolutely LOVE Platinum; it's my second-favourite entry in the series, behind Black/White 2, due to just how wonderful Sinnoh is, and the Battle Frontier is great.

What made Diamond and Pearl so special is that many towns had multiple purposes. For example, Canalave hosts a library supporting all the knowledge of the region, but also has the ships and stuff for the trading. The Great Marsh is in a town made in a corner specifically to protect it. And so on...
This game mixed myths and put them in every town, making them feel unique when you look around.
Cynthia herself represents old and new, as based on her japanese name which is based on a flower that has some leaves that die and some that don't on the same stem.
If there is a Pokémon game with the most meanings behind every single interactable NPC, object or Pokémon, it is Diamond and Pearl, and the best thing is that this is lore that is entirely optional, it enriches you when you go off the beaten pathway.

@@theillusionist1494 Everything that has come out has been great? Like the cutting of 60% of all Pokemon? The lazy versions of Megas, Dynamaxing? The gutting of beloved features from old games? Oh yeah, Masuda and GF are totally knocking it out of the park with what they're giving us.
My favorite game of all *times.* This was my childhood game.
What I really love is the Pokémon center night theme
These games are my childhood. I hope they'll receive the praise from Game Freak one day.
Gen 4 was brilliant. It took all the good things from Gen 3 and perfected them. I don't think any generation since then was as good.
it didn't just stop with gen 3. It add stuff to Gen 1&2 Pokémon.
I honestly think the series has been getting better since gen 3, but whatever floats your boat
Gen 5 was too linear and some of the pokemon are ripped off from gen 1 but gen 4 most of the pokemon have 1 evolution
One of my favorite games of the series honestly brings back so much nostalgia
OMG! That Weedle named Buntd, and that Pikachu named SPLAAART!!! were from Game Grumps! Love it!🤣
Me: Oh cool! Now it's time for Diamond and Pearl Did you kmow facts
0:05 starts playing Cinthya's theme
Me: *Suffering PTSD from Cinthya's battle*
Here after the remake announcements
Great video! Diamond and Pearl was the first Pokemon Game I played properly and didnt try to almost Solo with my OP starter! Always get a nostalgic feeling from Gen 4
A Sinnoh video? Lemme grab a snack.
exactly what i did
Platinum helped me learn English as a child being adopted
I love how everything in pokemon games is carefully designed to be for all ages, gen 4 having carefully designed battle ui so anyone can understand it, the pokemon themselves not looking too scary to let players befriend them more easily, the let’s go games having simplistic orchestrated music to fit in a family tv setting, it’s all so carefully done and i love it.
Diamond and Perl is my favorite out of the Pokemon Gen series so listening to this is a treat.
Can you do one on Pokémon Battle Revolution? Or Colloseum/XD
FINALLY THE VIDEO I WAS WAITING FOR
Now we wait for Black and White
I'd just like to appreciate whoever supplied the footage with the Psychic/Fighting Gallade nicknamed "Psythe"
i've been waiting for this for so long
Most people don't even remember how they increased gameplay speed with every title from DP to BW significantly. The originals are a bit of a slog to play novadays.
thats the reason i stopped playing
S/M were when things got out of hand. Level 80 pokemon battles don't feel like "colusus battles" anymore because the health bars drop so fast.
Can thank the changes to exp sharing for that. You were expected to be training your entire team linearly throughout the story so you never had to go grind.
@@davidmcgill1000
No. Movement is slow, battles are slow, saving is slow, everything's slow.
And then moving from DS to 3DS Pokémon games shows another huge difference. I still love them, but the DS games take so. long. to save.
I like gen 4 so much but gen 5 is just insane compared to it
Gen 5 was really just a natural extension of Gen 4. The only problem it had was that the map was too linear.
Gen V for life
@@AngelSamael the plot was great, and the fact the post game allows you to explore everywhere makes it even greater
Insanely ugly looking, insanely linear, insanely content districted and insanely ugly looking mons, at least BW2 was better then that trash BW
@@p.i.m.p8208 whats ugly about them?
3:59 Ironically, it says "PHYSIC" (typo for "PSYCHIC") under the (non-physical) Special attacks category.
Great video! Just wanted to point it out though.
I love that this posted today while I was hiding in the restroom at work playing Pokemon Platinum
There’s only one thing you need to know about DPP:
*It’s the best gen in all of Pokémon*
These games are my favorite. It’s nice to find out more of their development and secrets.
Neat stuff from my favorite game of all time!
I truly can’t describe how happy it makes me that these were designed to be the best games.
I appreciate the physical/special split that this game introduced, made battles put more thought into it.
"Pokémon Diamond and Pearl - Did You Know Gaming?" - Uses Platinum footage...
platinum is dp just advanced
@@hennibsdp9528 Pretty much, it's the best way to experience Sinnoh and unless GF changes (Which I highly doubt), it will probably remain that way forever.
Its time for adventure
Diamond and Pearl
We can change the World
Pokemon!

@@heyitsaye9439 I'll be honest, I always liked Battle Dimensions more.
