30:09 Oliveira is ALWAYS underestimated. I don't know what it is about people, but they see Charles and think whoever is across from him can beat him.
It's just compounded by the fact that he's getting older.
Not really. He should have been a bigger favourite vs Dariush, but also should've been a bigger underdog vs Islam. The odds of his fights vs Gaethje and Chandler (slight favorite), and Poirier (slight underdog) made perfect sense.
He was the underdog vs chandler for sure i had money on chandler i remember🤣
Olives is the underdog because Arman is the only opponent to actually go even with Islam in grappling. Say what you want but Islam vs Olives wasn't a stalemate on the ground. Islam had control the entire time. The first takedown in that fight was to prove that Olives couldn't do anything to Islam. And it was true.
So people see the fact Islam wasn't in any danger on the ground, and Arman's grappling is there as well. And Olives gets dropped by everyone he fights. Arman is being viewed as Islam 0.5 in this fight. And given that Islam had zero issues dismantling Olives, MMA math says Arman should be in a similar situation to Islam.
Whether or not that happens, who knows. But that's why.

@@BlahBlahFreeman I mean he wasn't getting dominated on the ground he was constantly threatening submission and ground strikes in the first Islam for sure won the first with control time but he wasn't dominating and in the second Charles got up after getting taken down and I thought Charles will knock him out but Islam surprised everyone with his striking. So it was stalemate on the ground when he wasn't hurt Islam was winning but not dominating.

Im kinda shocked Charles is that much of an underdog. If he got kod twice in a row or something and looked like he was on a skid those odds would make more sense. But hes only lost to Islam and destroyed Dariush in his last one. Maybe im underestimating Arman but Charles is still Charles. It won't be easy but I definitely see him winning that one.
Go back and watch Islam vs Arman. That fight explains why Arman is the favorite. Islam wasn't in any danger on the ground with Olives. Arman was/is the only opponent to really give Islam any sort of competition on the ground. Islam is the better striker between them for sure, but the fact Olives gets dropped by literally everyone; odds makers are probably expecting the same course of events. Then you have a perfect rematch setup against the two people to submit Olives.
Or we get Islam vs Olives 2 and watch Islam destroy him again.
oliveira is constantly underestimated. he's been the underdog in most of the recent fights he's won. after that one loss from islam where he didn't look like himself most people were picking dariush to beat him. then he came back and proved he had an off night against islam by looking much faster, stronger, and sharper against dariush.
now he's gonna go in there and destroy arman and people will still be acting like he has zero chance in the rematch against islam. the weasel is the only one who seems to realize that if they fight again it'll pretty much be a 50-50 fight.
in the first fight charles completely neutralized islam on the ground in the first round and got back to his feet, and that was not charles at his best. in the 2nd round he threw that slow, half-assed jump knee that left him wide open, which cost him the fight. against dariush his strikes all looked so much more fast and powerful, nothing like that slow jump knee. and we won't see anything like that slow jump knee against arman either, yet people will still expect an islam rematch to go exactly the same.
@@Jack_80 See, the issue here is that Olives fans always make excuses for him. He didn't look like himself, he wasn't at his best. Olives is always unbeatable until he isn't in the eyes of his fans.
Olives didn't neutralize Islam on the ground. It's the other way around. Islam happily went to the ground with the most accomplished submission artist in the UFC, and completely controlled the fight. That's not Olives neutralizing anything, that's him being controlled.
I'm not saying Olives will lose against Arman, but if he does I wonder what the next excuse will be? Maybe it'll just be another fight where Olives wasn't himself. Maybe he'll take a page out of Rousey's book and blame his mouthpiece. Maybe the solar eclipse caused his foot to fall asleep. Maybe Venus was in retrograde and the caused his eyebrows to be itchy.

Nowadays Achilles tears are a lot more treatable. Most times it minimum 1 year recovery, but I've seen recent cases of guys coming back fine in 6-9 months. I'm not saying Jamahal is one of them but if he took this fight with confidence that leads me to believe that he's good.

If you Google Pereira double combat athlete it will tell you he’s the first and only combat athlete in history to win 2 weight belts, in 2 different weight divisions in 2 DIFFERENT Combat Sports MMA and Kickboxing . 1st in Glory Hall of Fame and first simultaneous double champ, most defenses MW history (Glory) and now 2 Division champ in UFC. What’s more amazing is he came to UFC at 34 so already out of his prime but still beat 4 champs in a row, 3 by tko all younger than him 🤔

I think Pereira just flattens hill without much trouble.
As you broke it down in your video, hill's footwork is absolutely awful when he isn't blitzing forward, if he keeps putting his feet together and squaring up right in front of Alex his legs are going to get chopped down like a tree, and then he won't be able to put any power in his lunging shots and he'll get steamrolled.

Interesting take on the holm vs Harrison right. Kayla is not orthodox, she is southpaw. She weighs 160 but is currently walking around at about 150, and I would disagree about her footwork and being slow. She’s quite fast for her size, she has much better movement and striking than Ronda did , and she implements a lot of wrestling, where Ronda did not. Looking forward to seeing how they match up.
Ronda used to Judo throw a lot of people and armbar them. That was like her go to thing initially. But I think Kayla is just a better athlete than Ronda has ever been. Kayla accomplished a lot more in the Judo world than Ronda did and I think Kayla is a lot more disciplined and focused than Ronda was. This is Kayla’s debut and idk that Ronda was very focused on fighting when she fought Holm. Combine that with Holm being a decade older now. It’s like a better version of Ronda vs a worse version of Holm
