Don't over shampoo it, let it fade naturally. You look great. It actually give you a dynamic look . We need to continue to make changes over time in our hair and makeup. I will be 78 this year with similar hair color. I bet I change to your new color from blonde by my 80th.

It is stunning! Absolutely stunning. What most women don't understand is gray hair makes your face glow. It complements your face and makes you look younger! I think you look absolutely gorgeous. Gray is another color like blond. It makes your eyes pop like nobodies business! Gorgeous, just gorgeous.
I think it takes 10 years off and looks so natural. It brings out your eye color. It is a great compliment to their blueness. Makes you look like you are in your late 40s or 50s. Pretty! 🌷

Love it. You have beautiful skin and eyes so the color looks so good on you. The gray highlights around your face look really good with the darker gray everywhere else. I have used original Prell shampoo to strip dark color off my hair many times. But really, I think you should leave it. Looks great!

Honestly I think this hair color is more becoming on you than the blond. Your eyes look amazing! I laughed when you said there's nothing wrong with being old... but I don't want to feel old. At some point, we have to embrace the fact that we are old. Anything over 65 is considered old age. Its just a fact. And I think you look amazing, whatever your age is. This color makes you look polished and classy.

I don't know who your hairstylist is, but she did a fabulous job on your hair!!! Like all the other comments, it does make your blue eyes pop and you look so sophisticated. I have watched you for years and I like your hair blonde too, but without the gray in it. It all boils down to whether you want to keep up the blonde color or not. Do what pleases you!!!

Every time I suggest to my husband that I might color my gray hair blonde he says "NO". And he's not someone that takes a firm stand with me very often. I think you look elegant.

OMG, I think it is beautiful!! You looks years younger. It really makes your eyes pop. I'm a natural blonde and started greying at 23. Since then, my hair has been every color in the rainbow trying to keep those greys covered. Now at 67 my hair is natural, very grey and yet very blonde. I feel washed out and going to the simplest of places need to do a full makeup and really don't want to. A lot of mascara and little bronzer and a light color lipstick. I think changing the hair color might do the trick. You are fabulous!

I am 62 and have decided in the past month to let my grey grow out. Now my husband and one son wants me to continue to color and am just tired of doing it. Embracing your age and all that comes with it, well that's where I'm at - will see when it grows out! You look great Patti and the color certainly compliments your eyes!!
I quit hiding my salt and pepper gray back in 2019. I don’t regret it at all!! I get many compliments on it- when I do it LOL. Go for it! It takes time but so worth it!!!
Patti I think it's beautiful, it takes time to get use to it...I stopped coloring my hair and the caramel highlights when I turned 62 and had my hair cut to a A-line bob...finally it all grew out and it is a pretty silver color that people asked me where did I go to get my hair color, even my grand-daughters, they're in their 20's, hope that they get the same silver color when they my age...I 'm 72 now and glad I did it❤😊❤
Your hair fits right into the "quiet elegance" styling. I went back and forth a few times until I finally said I'm done coloring. I had it cut really short and layered. Lots of silver showing, and I used a spray shine to enhance it. Everyone loves it it, as do I. I think your new color looks very natural and complimentary. But this may not be your time. If you aren't comfortable with it yet, just wait and try again later.

Just seen the new hair, was unsure it was so different, then I went back to your previous video. This looks so much better because the old hair was all pale grey at the front and the blond looked like a separate ponytail. I still liked the blond but it needed more coverage at the front. However let’s see how it fades but looking good so far.

As a hairdresser… you can add a little dish soap ( like dawn) to your shampoo and ‘ scrub it out and it will lighten up….follow with a conditioner.

I’m 74. Recently I was away for about seven months. I didn’t know what in the world my hairdresser was going to do. He just added some low lights so that my hair color could shine. I love it. Hi Patty, first of all, it looks beautiful. When I looked back at your more recent videos you actually look younger now with the new color! This new look adds much more depth to your color than what you had previously. I am going through the exact same thing in letting my natural gray grow out, I’ve got the same gray pattern as you, my hair is dark in the back, silver around my face. I’ve got about six more inches to go, but now that I see yours, I’ll be making an appt. with my stylist! I give it a two thumbs up!❤❤
10+ years ago I had chemo treatment and decided that whatever colour my hair was when it grew back, that's what I would live with. I was so tired of dying my roots every 3 weeks. My natural hair colour is very similar to yours - white in the front, mid-brown in the back (okay, more salt-and-pepper now). I love it. I get compliments on it all the time. So, of course, I LOVE your new colour. You say it makes you feel old and I get it but, frankly, Patti, I find it makes you look perfect. I found the blonde made you look (and forgive me for this...) like you were trying too hard to stay young. The fact that hubby likes it should tell you something, too. Of course, I had months to get used to mine (as it grew back in after chemo) while yours changed in an afternoon but I think you'll like it, especially once you get the number of compliments I'm sure are coming your way.
When you’ve changed colours it’s really no time to makes decisions on the resulting colour because it’s going to fade so quickly. Then you’re going to have to keep the roots upkeep to an extent, so u colours the roots again then u need to get use and adjust your thinking again on the results. I’ve bleached and toned since I was 16. My Aunt I was very close to was a stylist specializing in colour so once she taught me how to formulate colours I had a blast. But just turning 74 Vi have reached the point where like you said, I’m focusing only on the colour I’ve had for years being what Gi liked most and I’ve got to get use to having a new me and settle for a “tri” coloured white, no yellow at all, white, using a very light ash toner then pulling hairs thru a cap in 2 more diff coloured grey, maybe needing to only colouring twice a year. Say goodbye to the blonde yellow toning shades, it time I’m telling myself.
I also had chemo and came back and beautiful salt & pepper. I've had so many compliments on it. It takes a bit of adjustment..but who cares...I have hair!

I had a bone marrow transplant and chemotherapy finished 8 months ago, I always loved my beautiful long dark blonde straight hair, losing it was tough, it grew back in dark grey and super curly which has been ridiculously hard to deal with, but being 48 years old i didn't want to stay full grey so i recently opted to dye it back to similar to my natural dark blonde color, its true what patti says, hair is just hair its like painting the walls, but i never knew the huge emotional impact it had on me and my self esteem until it was gone, I look forward to going full grey at some point but felt it was too soon since it was chemically induced, i feel much better having some color back but I'm still dealing with the chemo curls which are tragic and a big change for me, I have to constantly remind myself of the sacrifices that had to be made for my health, its still hard to deal with though lol

This color looks classy and bright eyed on you. I’m 79 and within the last few years have gone all silver. It was hard to look at myself and realize that was the new me but I’m really happy with it now. Lots of people tell me it looks so fab and the others don’t say anything al all. Which I appreciate. Yes the makeup will change but that’s kind of fun too.
I honestly love it, it looks gorgeous, you absolutely suit it. My mum has finally made the decision to go naturally grey at 73 and she looks beautiful too. I’m 51 and don’t have any grey hairs yet and I can’t yet say what I’ll do but you must always do what makes YOU happy. ❤
Patti you are a beautiful woman!! I'm 74. This year in July I will be 75 years old. I tried letting my hair go natural when the gray/white hairs started coming. I'm Italian. Both mother and father were Italian. Grandparents came to America on a ship to Ellis Island in New York. I had very dark hair all my life until I was in my 40s and decided I wanted to become a blonde. My mother and all her sisters did the same thing. I loved being a blonde! Well just 2 months ago when I was getting whiter and whiter every time I looked in the mirror I gasped! In my mind I'm still a young 20 year old woman lol 😂!! I was starting to get depressed so I called my hair dresser and said "Nicole I want to be blonde again". I'm so happy I did it! I feel great with the beautiful color and I believe I look younger. Nicole did not have to use bleach on my hair. I found your CZcams channel because of Nanny and Moosie. I have watched some of your older videos and you were absolutely gorgeous as a blonde! Don't get me wrong. You are a beautiful woman no matter what. But if you're looking for some honest opinions I like you with the blonde hair much better. I love your videos and all the great info you offer regarding make-up and all the different products you purchase and try out. Thank you Patti! ❤

Retired barber here-most people have darker hair in the back when they start graying. The weird part is some people get darker in the back even more than their former natural color was.

My normal blonde hair is coming in more pepper than salt so therefore darker than the blonde. I really hate it!

Yup! I’m 77. My hair has turned mostly turned gray, but the back of my hair is as naturally dark as the day I was born. Not ONE gray/ white hair! Looks pretty crazy when I put my hair up

Hi Pattie, as a natural platinum blonde & a hairdresser, I can understand your thoughts on this colour. I think it is a too dark grey what I would all gun metal where as you are a natural blond you would suit a light silver blonde, it may fade to that with shampooing over time x😘🥰 love your chats ❤
I already commented but got to the end where you said the color made you feel old. It may make you reel old but it makes you look younger…the white at your hairline, the silver darkening at the ends makes your skin and your eyes sparkle and come to life!

Patty, I love the new look. I color my hair (blonde), and I can say that no matter what, I'm always a bit dissapointed. It takes about 2 weeks until I'm happy. With that being said, I would suggest that you give yourself a 2 week window before you make your final assessment. Also, I think that the current color looks younger on you. It is normal to make changes to your makeup when the hair color changes. You have beautiful facial features and at 80 you are stunning. I think a little more deeper blush is what you might be looking for. So, love your new look. Take a bow!
I think you look stunning. It looks healthy and shiny. I am 64 and have short hair and stopped dying my hair, so I understand the double take in the mirror. However, I have never received compliments on my hair as I do now. You look great!!
Patti, your hair is very beautiful blonde or grey. This is very lovely. It is such fun to have all the options to change if we wish. I think the process is called low lights.Darker color added instead of lightening. ❤😊
It makes your eyes bluer. I'm going thru a secret transition with the help of my hairdresser. Right now it looks like I purposely did ombre on my hair. I think you look great.

Your hair looks beautiful. I stopped coloring my hair during Covid in 2019/2020, and I have received so many complements that I would never color my hair again. I've used the gloss and it takes the yellow away. My hair is naturally curly and two toned gray and ash brown. The most gray in just like yours. I see more and more ladies embrace their gray and I think it really feels empowering. love love your har!! ❤

I am nearly 74, and my greying hair 's original color is very similar to yours. I only started getting grey hairs about 12 years!ago, and the process is happening so gently and gradually, that folks think I have an awesome colourist! I do: God Almighty! I am loving how gradually it is softening with my skin and features... and YOU look amazing! Dear Patti, I’m not a great commenter, but felt compelled to say a word about the hair color. It is a beautiful color, one can tell that it was very well done, and I don’t think you should regret it at all. However, I do think that you would be happier with more blond. I am grey blonde myself, very close to your age, and I find that darker grey is very hard to make look good on me. Even grey clothing around my face is just not flattering to me at all, just makes me appear dull & drab. I have naturally mouse brown/ dishwater blonde hair and I am down to just using a lightest cool blonde toner with 30 vol developer. When first applied, it will be a darker grey & I don’t enjoy it until it’s washed a couple of times. ❤❤❤
You must consider that every complection is different and makeup can be adjusted to hair color. We all know Patti certainly knows how to do that! ❤

Hi… I’m newer to your Channel and love watching you. The latest post on hair grabbed me. At 78 I just transitioned to gray with shorter hair.
Everything you mention I totally related to. Scared myself when looking in the mirror, had to change my makeup as I looked washed out. And I feel old now.
The only thing I will say are the positive feedback from friends and family is uplifting. I lack self confidence, so this was a huge step for me encouraged by my husband. The color of your hair is much like mine. White on sides and natural whatever throughout. I love the gloss in your hair and would love to try it. You are beautiful with this new look, and think you will embrace it. It’s a shock for sure but we earned these aging steps. I keep telling myself this💖💖💖. Thank you for reading. Sandi
I feel that this natural look perfectly compliments your skin tone! I started graying in my late thirties. It is easier to accept when its a slow progression. Try to live it it a while. You are beautiful either way and ultimately we should do what makes us feel the best about ourselves .... so you just do you!

You look great with either hair color. But the silver in your hair looks fabulous on you and I think it compliments your beautiful eye color so well! Unfortunately ( I just turned 60) 80 percent of my hair has turned white and not this beautiful silvery gray that you have. So for now I am sticking to a silver blond color.

Your hair is beautiful and your hairdresser is very talented. Having said that, you should do what makes you feel best. I’ve been highlighting my hair for years and recently went back to my medium brown color. It just wasn’t “me” and I’m back to blonde. I’m happy again. Either way, you’re beautiful inside and out. ❤

A good way to gage if you like the lightness/darkness of your hair is to take photos of yourself in black & white. By taking photos in black & white, it takes the "color aspect" out and allows you to focus on how you feel about how light or how dark you prefer your hair to be. Good luck in whatever you chose.

I love your hair. I've embraced grey in my mid 40s after having highlights, cour and any other suggestions. There was only one lady who said I should colour it. She even embarrassed me with a shop assistant in a fancy make up shop by saying I should dye it to get rid of the grey. The assistant said loudly that she loved my grey colour, even stopped shoppers, not sales people, who all said they preferred it grey. My friend was very quiet afterwards and went home early. But you do as you feel happy with. You look beautiful either way, believe me. ❤
