  • Marin Bikes have a home with Bikes Online in Australia, and they have helped countless riders around the nation find a great bike for the trails via their direct to consumer model. Marin bikes are bought online and shipped to your door, and as such their website is setup to help equip you on choosing the right size, the right model - and building it up. The Marin Team 1 is called an aggressive XC bike, but what does that mean? Well it's fairly light for efficient bike riding, but with components and handling to suit aggressive riding as well.

    Riding this machine for a couple of months. It's light, fast and fun. The only trouble I am having is on slightly techy decents 😩

      Did you set the tyres up tubeless? Doing so can really let you get the pressure right for the best traction and confidence. We'd also suggest upgrading to a dropper post - it makes a big difference!

    Good review! I have my eye one this but the sizes are limited stock at the moment. Im on the cusp between L>XL annoyingly. I reckon I need an L. I saw you are riding 'L', how tall are you out of interest?

      178cm with lanky arms and a 760mm seat height, which was near max on the post.

    That is the older seatstay design that is prone to cracking. Wonder why they didn't send you the upgraded, more enforced, frame design that Marin put out to help with the cracking.

      Is that not only on the Team Marin 2…?

      @@JasonScottCarter Thanks. So it's a bad idea to buy one used from 2021?
      I have written to Marin many times, but they don't even get back to me. I am perhaps a bit afraid of this company, if they can't even answer a "to-be" costumer. What about when you have bought the product.

    • @JasonScottCarter
      @JasonScottCarter Před rokem +1

      @@danielfl.9347 They expect you to work with their dealers. They are not consumer direct. I wouldn't buy a used one personally. I had bought one from a dealer and it took months for a warranty replacement.

      @@JasonScottCarter Damn, good to know. I think I will stick to Trek.
      Marin have no official dealers in Denmark - only online partners.
      Very sad that this company does not take itself more serious.

    It sounded like you said that if I wear out a front chain ring I would need a new frame. That is bomkers, Is that accurate?

    • @Australianmountainbike
      @Australianmountainbike  Před 11 měsíci

      Ok - no. If you wear out a chain ring you will likely need a new crank set as we couldn't find an easy way to replace it.

  • @OldBumOnABike
    @OldBumOnABike Před 11 měsíci

    I was under the impression the chainring is a direct mount, and replaced from the rear of the drive crank...
