I wanted to get a Miyoo mini to gift someone.. but they look sold out as Russ mentioned in his recent video there seems to be pockets of times where they are available on AliExpress).

Awesome! I have two RG300Xs. I'm going to try out this new AnberNIX on my Gold RG300X and leave the stock firmware on my Silver one for now. If I like the new firmware enough, I'll then update my Silver RG300X with it.
The 280V was my first retro handheld, so it has a special place in my pocket.
I haven't used mine in a while but hearing that there's a new OS to try definitely gives me a reason to get it out again.

WHAT!!! I'm So excited to see updated firmware for the 300X thx for the link to this OS since its near impossible to find on the internet. Even Anbernic website has no mention of the new OS firmware!

I bought the RG300X last week. Its very fun to play
It's cool to see that people are still putting the work into these devices. I'm probably gonna stick with Adam because I love scrolling through a scraped fullset and mostly play Gameboy and NES on mine anyway, but if some of AnberNIX's PSX performance improvements make it over to Adam, I'll happily update it and give some PSX games a shot.

I wish Adams image didn't separate the handheld from the consoles in the menu. Other than that, I like it.

There is a opendingux update in the Chinese community that help improve the overly bluish display for the rg300X to a warmer/saturated one.
Don't see anything similar yet for a English system.

i still have the stock OS on the 280v. i want to update it only to be able to lock/sleep the handheld midgame just by tapping the power button. thatll be huge when im at work and can put it in my pocket if a random person is coming to talk to me. the adam OS seems more than i need, and waaaay longer to install than id like. im curious if the anbernix OS has the lock/sleep feature ? 🤔
Bought a 350P a while back, and couldn't get used to having analogue sticks where I would typically rest my thumbs. Went to the 300X and haven't looked back since. Near perfect little handheld, great ergonomics. Just wish it had a little more power under the hood.
Love my RG280V. It feels great in the hands and looks unique. I did not get the RG300X because I still own an original Gameboy Micro and that thing is way smaller than this, and I don't play it often but after 3 years later just sitting in a drawer it still turns on.
I have a 280v on the way! I recently got a Miyoo Mini, and I wanted a comparison as well as a more durable (allegedly) option. Would you recommend going straight to AnberNIX, or rocking Adam?
You made a wise decision. I own both the Miyoo Mini and the RG280V and they are both fantastic. Having the Miyoo Mini is like having a mini Gameboy and having the RG280V is like having something unique in your hands. You'll know what I am talking about when you get yours and admire the nicely squared aesthetics. I got Onion OS on my Miyoo Mini and Adam on my RG280V. Take a shot every time I said RG280V. You're on the floor. Thank me tomorrow.
How can 300x screen be OCA laminated if the plastic cover goes across the whole face of the device? Do they oca laminate to that front panel?
Just starting to watch. Please please please be good on the 280v. It’s such nice hardware but I have using it.
The sound volume when using this image is low even when pressing the volume buttonto max it, if you check in sound mixer, seems like the volume is affected by "Mixer" which is set to 31 by default and changing this value did not stick. After every reboot it will return to 31 again.
So AnberNIX is worse than Adam Image? What a letdown.. seems they even couldn't get to fix/work HDMI out. So i wonder what's the point of releasing this since it's a poor Adam Image ripoff..?
which firmware do you recommend more this modded anbernic OS or Adam image? I'm not sure which one performs better.
Adam is still my favorite since it has box art. Performance should be the same now. - Stubbs

I love and adore the Anbernic 280V. I bought it and an RG300. The RG300 crapped out. Was definetly a cheap POS lol. But the 280V packed some decent power and a gorgeous screen and beautiful aesthetics. I have the golden version. it plays PS1 games no problem! Though I mostly wanted these little Anbernics to play GBA, GB, and GBC games and SNES. They do not disappoint. I might get a 300X just because. When you hold these things they feel very quality.

Is Pico 8 part of the anberNIX package?
I have a Mac and cannot get the SD card to have a blank name. Using a "space" isn't working which was suggested to use in Disk Utility. Any idea how to force an SD card to not have a name (to leave it blank) on a Mac? Thank you for the help!

How to install FBA emulator on AnberNIX OS? Can't find it.
It's inside NeoGeo ofc. I'm always baffled of this emulation devices rg300x can play smooth ps1 games but do only 50fps on mame/fba games like Final Fight and Altered Beast.
@@trendafilov7 I use FBA 2012 core (retroarch) for CPS games and games go smooth
The 300X reminds me of the GameBoy Micro lol I had the Micro. In fact I had 2 of them. I accidentally ran over it with a power chair and had to replace it.
No WiFi is a hard pass. I love the form factor of the 300X but no WiFi kills it for me.

@@retrohandhelds LOL I was mad when it happened but I think I had a warranty on it so it was easy to replace. Or I think I just bought another one outright considering it was less than $100 at the time.

With some minor tweaking, it should! Working with the dev to get a 280m, 350m, and 350/350p build going.

I just tested it out with AnberNIX. It flashes on my TV for a second then goes black. I'm unsure what would make it work IF it works.
If I got another 350, it would be the original.
Problem is the price... they perform the same as VQ90 and other device that cost 30-40 bucks, so you're paying over double the price for slightly better buttons and a sturdier shell.
If they offered at least better ergonomics or a bigger screen i could see the potential.
I don't think that they perform the same of a VQ90, look at Mame, SNES and PSX performances. Moreover, the screen quality is way better on these two devices (no screen tearing, for example)

Dingux was an os for the dingoo a320). I suggest you say "based on opendingux beta and Adam" instead or something like that.
