To answer the posters question, I purchased an Xmaxx within the last few months and it still had the tiny rear hub bearings that the original came out with. I blew one up on the 3rd run. Dozens of outings since installing the RPM rears and no issues yet. Great video by the way. Thanks for the good info!

Awesome video on your Xmaxx Jason! I think you have covered everything perfectly 👌 I agree the Traxxas upgraded servo is more than enough and due to the funky size that's a good thing. I have just started running an 1100kv in mine and I am loving it 🤩 I ran a stock 6s 1600kv motor for a long time but it's starting to really stress my batteries and probably my Max6. The 1100kv has really brought it back to life. I gotta upgrade my tires soon, I keep regluing stock tires every other run 🤣

I've had a to add shims, aluminum diff covers and Traxxas aluminum cases to my X-Maxx so I would stop chewing through ring gears and output drives after going with the Max 5, 1100KV motor and 25/35 gearing. Now I'm having an issue with bending the driveshafts. I also had to install wfo drive cup sleeves so those are would stop splitting. I'm waiting for the WFO titanium driveshafts. Hopefully those will not break or bend on me. I use duratrax lockup x 24mm belted tires. I don't like using heavier or bigger tires than those. Good review.

I just got a new X maxx …it arrived at my house yesterday, I can confirm that the truck has updated Hubs front and back with the larger bearings on the inside…20x32x7 which are the same as the rpm bearings…bad thing is I already ordered my rpm hubs for the rear… It’s about time they updated their stock hubs and bearings they’ve been crap for a long time. I’m not sure when they started putting these new hubs on their trucks but it definitely has a new model number for the parts.

Do u feel the xmaxx has more punch with the firma 160? Just picked up an xmaxx and given, I use the 6s arrma’s a lot off the ramp, the xmaxx rotates like a turtle. Can barely pull a backflip in under 4 secs. May just be used to the arrmas that can rotate in half a second, but the fun factor is diminished as level ramp jumps get boring rather quick.

I have max 6 and stock motor. Performance is still good. I actually use the higher kv stock xmaxx motor from the 6s truck. Can be found cheap. My buddy has new 8s all stock and mine beats his even with heavy tires. It’s not quite the power of 1100kv obviously but if you are on a budget this may be a good thing for you since the aforementioned set-up is powerful but not as abusive on parts. You could always add the 1100kv on down the road.

@@JasonPerrinRCVlogs disagree:), it's all about the ⚙⚙gearing, which would be the same for both 1100kv or 800kv. They are both the same can size. The torque is pretty much equal. I've never been able to drive mine at full power, it's just too much power, and that's the same thing for the 1100kv. I don't believe one is better than the other if geared right, and ESC'Z and batteries have a significant impact on speed and energy consumption.
