The bucket wheel excavator may not be the largest set anymore, but it still remains as the crown jewel of Lego Technic sets. The engineering in that thing is just insane, with a single motor powering so many different functions.
HORRIOR yeah what ever, have you ever gotten any other technic sets? I have the bucket wheel excavator and it doesn’t compare to the Porsche, Bugatti, lambo or the liebherr, the mechanisms in those 4 sets are far more complex and intricate, the bucket wheel excavator is just a few cogs with axles going through them, but still it’s a cool set but it is no where near the the crown jewel of technic sets
Bruh, the one motor is what makes it a let down, everything moves so slowly cuz of it while the Liebher has 7 motors so it can actually function at a decent speed
I built this. It was EXTREMELY complicated, but it was so fascinating watching all of the little gears work in unison to power different functions.
I have built no. 2 and number 1. The crane was pretty complex because it has 6 powerfunctions out of one motor. So if you forget one little piece, it won't work anymore . Building the Liebherr was different, more modular and in a way a bit easier. But massive. And bif advantage is that you can test sub-modules before putting them together. The sets have become expensive. I got my Liebherr for approx. $310
The bucket wheel was my dream and showed to be really disappointing. It doesn’t work. Sorry to tell it that way but it sucks a lot, the motor is too weak to make it work and the set was poorly designed, technically speaking.
Just finished building the Lambo, that thing is no joke, i think this was the first build I’ve hated for the complexity, BUT I LOVED the finished product and deeply impressed and appreciate the genius engineering that went into this model, holy cow 🤯
I felt the exact same when I built it
I built the bucket wheel excavator after coming home from hospital and needing to recuperate. It was magnificent. Kept my brain and hands busy whilst the rest of my body screamed nastiness at me. I love this model. Superb job from Lego. Thank you.
I just got my hands on the lego rough terrain crane and I'm so excited to build it.
@Mart Jan Koops prob would have prob not ieven it is
@Christian Kangasluoma I got one for Xmas to this year
I was laughing because i got a unopened 1 on ebay last year for £120 ;D
I have had it scince it came out and it is amazing
i got the bucket wheel excavator
The Mack Anthem is what all future technic sets should of been, finally filling in those ugly gaps with brick pieces for a more realistic look but still having all the technic features we expect .
Exactly. In comparrison to the car transporter it looks way better.Much nicer and more detailed.Even the seats are a class act compared to the car transporter. The Mack almost looks like a lego creator set.
I'd say, Excavator is "Hall Of Fame" level. You can play with this FOREVER!!
which one?? bucket wheel or og exca or liebherr??
I would love it when Lego would sell a model of the Mammoet crane. A giant tower crane that sits on a ring and is being used for extreme heavy loads.
*says Chiron correctly*
2 seconds later: I know that it's Khayron.
Your first pronunciation of the “Chiron” was a lot more accurate.
Very American lol. (I am also but I am a car guy so 🤷🏽♂️)
N3utr0N N3utr0N I mean i’m a massive car guy too. Technically none of his pronunciations were “right,” but it realy doesn’t matter too much. “CH-eye-ron” is wrong as well as “shear-on.” I believe it is pronounced more like “Shear-own.”
True, even a person from the bugatti company pronounced it like the first one
Yes
I want to believe he was joking. 😅
My wife and I gifted ourselves the Liebherr Excavator for our 25th Anniversary and YES, it's huge, it's expensive, it can be occasionally difficult to build - but when it's finished, and that "floor-shaker" trundles across the floor looking for dirt (or plastic rocks) to move -- well, let's just say, it's worth every penny, every minute, and every frustrated "GRRR!" you spend on it.
And then some.
My request is simple: Technic Delorean with Power Functions and/or App Control. Maybe even a moving Flux Capacitor. Nuff said.
I never even thought of that! Now I really want one, why would you bring this up :'(
You could probably mod one of the other sets to do that, maybe dom’s charger or that 50 dollar Chevy?
I'd actually rather have a UCS Delorean, no power functions or app control, just a large, high quality display piece.
Yes, full spec BTTF delorean, to the scale of the other supercars, this would be epic
I love the pirate ship that the crane lifted... That was my first and only big lego kit that I got back in 1994. I still have it on my shelf
I'd love to see a Lego Technic model of a Motor Grader. There would be so many moving parts and functions. Hmmmm one day. Please.
The Mack Anthem was a really fun build for me. One of my favs.
It's one of my favorite builds too
Chiron is pronounced like the first time you said it, not with a hard "c".
I have 7 of the 10
@@DrRomantico73 what?
His "google translate" pronunciation is a character in Greek mythology, but obviously the car is French so it's pronounced differently.
I know that made me cringe
Josh Kirkfield
That’s Charon lmfao
I‘m surprised that the Unimog U400 didn’t make it into the list
This list is strange i know where 1st is mercedes arocs 2nd liebherr and then the unimog...
Usually on that list there are no chiron lamborhini and porsche ...^^
I have that one. That set combines the power function with Pneumatic parts. Why it's not on the list?
It has 2048 parts.
The UNIMOG Should have been included. It was really the first really complicated set complete w/pneumatics that actually worked!
I only had enough to get my hands on the Ducati but it’s amazing
Always loved technic lego, and since getting back into it after all the kids have grown up and having a very understanding wife I'm lucky enough to have all sets but the mobile crane and lambo, the best for me though hands down has to be the Arocs truck, this is what started it all off again after the dark ages! The pneumatic system is superb, I only wish there were more new pneumatic sets! I will never get tired of lego. Got a problem that you can't get out of your head, start building a lego set and all your worries will be gone, at least until you've finished it!
We are much alike.I'm 38 now and haven't played with lego since I was 8...In my country (Belgium), they aired a TV-show called Legomasters and that rekindled my long lost lego enthousiasm. So a week ago I bought the Lego Technics Ducati Panigale and enjoyed that build so much that I can't stop buying and building lego. The day after I bought and made the Corvette and a rescue helicopter...followed by the lego creator expert Fiat 500.Today I bought 3 sets !!! Going for bigger stuff, I bought the car transporter truck with the blue car 42098, the yellow mobile crane 42108 and the 4057 parts rough terrain crane 42082 showed on nr 2 in this video.I'm in full lego addiction mode right now !!! Today I've payed 360€ for the 3 sets and the big crane only costed me 180€ for 4000+ parts.Very good value for the money if you ask me.I also wanted to buy the Porsche 911 RSR and the Landrover Defender, but they are sold out in every toystore I've visited in my search.Hope I can find them soon.I would really like to have the Bugatti and the Lambo Sian and the Liebherr crane, but I think they are a bit too expensive. The bugatti costs like 350€ for roughly 3500 parts, that's the amount I've payed today for 3 sets containing around 7000 parts in total. That's the same price as the Bugatti or the Sian, but double the parts and double the hours of building fun...
Request: In future, could you make the number banners disappear after a few seconds? They block visibility of the items. Thanks.
I never got any of those but I got the fully remote control Volvo loader, its huge and somehow can lift a chair, the bucket rotates up and down the bucket moves up and down and it drives forward and backward and the motor pistons move as well as the radiator fan.
I just put together my first technic set, the Ducati panigale v4r and I love it so far.
Just finished the lamborgini zion, i have the bugatti chiron and the Porsche GT3 as well. All 3 very good sets... Premium boxes, special pieces and good working models. If u have the money and the time (about 22 hours a set) go buy them!
Don’t feel like the build is too similar? I have the Bugatti, but not sure about doing the Lamborghini as well. Maybe the Liebherr instead.
I just got my hands on this video and I’m so excited to watch it
my mind is blown, way bigger than i was expecting 👍
Iwe har a a Mercedes Benz Arocs for like four years and it has also survived a flood in the basement and the air thing is a little slow, it had been stored away for a while, but it still works quite well. And the electrical stuff is still perfect.
Ooh, I want that 42100. Got the Bucket Wheel Excavator a couple of years ago and it was awesome.
Daym this video is so good it never get old .. love this
3:35 all time favorite
Anything PAGANI, would be awesome...!!
I love lego vehicles so am always going to choose them as my favorites
Thanks bro this really helped me have my choices because my mum said I’m too old for normal LEGO so I’m selling all of my normal LEGO and collecting LEGO technic 😀
I own the terrain crane and the liebher and the terrain crane felt bigger and harder to create. Love both!!
When you were taking about the mobile crane mk2 if you read my mind all you would hear is “I want it I want it I want it” also great video 😁👍
I have the mobile crane mk 2 and the Bugatti Chiron. The engine and gearbox in the Chiron is a work of art!! Worth every penny.
I am such a Lego technic fan I really want lego to come out with a McLaren 720 S spider in technic pieces
Just finished building the liebherr. What a monster. Have to buy a new shelf for it
*pronounces Chiron somewhat correctly* "I said that wrong, I know it's" *pronounces it completely wrong*
It’s pronounced kyron though
Yeah exactly what i was thinking. It's 100% pronounced as "sheeron" not kairon 😂😂😂
I pronounce it cheeron
@@jackborgman5069 It isn't though. It's named after Louis Chiron, who was from Monaco, so it has a French pronunciation: sheeron.
@@dragonquesti8629 same
Wow this cool
I’m about to get the Land Rover defender and I will hopefully remember to post videos about building it
I’d like to see the old school Space Shuttle they made, ‘remastered’ in a way, so I can build it again, but so it’s even better with 2020 tech and not 1998 tech
I love lego, it reminds me of my childhood.
I just finished the liebherr 9800 today and it’s awesome
Amazing video 👍
Being a trucker, I had to buy the mack anthem. I love it. Great set
I have the Land Rover and the Mack.
They are sooooo good and beatiful.
Annnd want to say this was a good video 👍🏻
I'm surprised that these 'newer' sets have so many more parts than the old sets I grew up with. I own the legendary sets 8868, which has just under 1000 parts, and 8480 and 8880, which both have under 1400 parts.
damn those are legendary sets.
Very cool video
Would like to see Lego version of semi heavy hauler with a low boy trailer to haul 8275 dozer, 8043 excavator, or 8265 rubber tire loader.
7:44
HEY! Do I see LEGO finally using stud shooters *properly* ?
Daniel Lamping I don't see any plz explain
@@absolutearcher n the back of the Chiron at the ends of the red light strip
I would love to see them tackle another truck. Maybe a Kenworth with a Miller M100 rotator.
You forgot the unimog! That set is my favorite technic set! It had so many functions! Front motorized chain, pneumatics, 4 wheel drive with 3 differentials, suspensions, moving pistons.
I would love to see some farming equipment. Like big Tractors and possibly some Harvesters.
Lego 42080😉
The biggest Technic set I own is set #8466, 4x4 Off-Roader, from 2001. I have no idea how many parts it has (and mine has one less because I got it used). My point however, is that it came with instructions on how to add power features even though it did not include them.
Beyond the brick: Would you like to have the 1:1 scale Lego buggati Chiron or a real Chiron?
Me: Is it too much to ask for both?
just ordered the Liebherr a few hours ago. looked back at Lego.com and it said it was on backorder again! I must have gotten the last one! :O
so stoked to build the largest Technics set.. and then take it apart to build other things hehe
I actually have the Bucket Wheel Excavator. It's an insane set.
I'm building the R 9800 now, it came with two dead motors, so waiting for those in the mail, so unfortunately I have to break down most of step 2 to replace one of them. But I can't wait to get it finished.
props to you for trying to get the upper hand. it might not have been the right prononciation, but there was an attempt
13:21 As someone who owns Set 42082, I can confirm that with the arm fully extended and that it’s maximum height, I can lift about 8 ounces, but with the arm not extended, it could lift up to 2 pounds.
I have many of these and they are Nice
Got the Lamborghini - love it! 😀 I think it's pronounced like the name Sean, Shawn.
To everyone who has bought and completed all 10 of those sets, you have my respect.
And no life lol
The Land Rover defender is huge, but the box is massive
Ordered the Lambo this morning at 5AM, received it at about 3PM ❤️ now there’s only a matter of time and being brave enough to embark on that amazing journey 🎉
Enjoy it. Easily one of my favorite builds. They really took it a step further than the Bugatti in terms of technicality and general stability. Both are absolutely gorgeous (especially next to each other), but I was seriously blown away by the Lambo.
@@jtfujiman got the Bugatti as well in the meanwhile, but after starting with the 911 RSR, I’ve found out that I don’t have a space to put them! So I’ve still not started the build, I think I’ll buy some custom furniture before. Thanks for the reply!!
With my Chiron. It was the very first model that had a couple of pieces missing.
When I heard about Lego doing a Lamborghini, I had to sign up for that. Was originally hoping they'd do the all time archetypal Lamborghini that is the Countach, but the Sian is an OK second. Love the idea of th3 Delorean though, that someone else suggested on here. So they would be my top two - Lamborghini Countach and Delorean DMC-1
I just got my hands on the lamborghini sian, its day 5 and its pretty cool, i been having fun with building it, very few frustrations in it, i recommended to everyone that likes sport cars!
Husband and I just finished up Liebherr R 9800 Excavator! Was super fun
Especially the techniques
The Chiron wheels are beautiful
I had the Land Rover but the gears or something was clicking sound when I drove it so I completely rebuilt the chassis and it was ok for a few weeks then started clicking again so I used the pieces, I still have no idea what the problem was with it but it was still epic while it lasted, we also had the bucket wheel excavator (my brother and I) but we never touched it anymore so I took it apart and I built an RC thing, we now also have the rough terrain crane (btw the crane and excavator were from my uncle, and the Land Rover was my 12th bday present) but the crane is still alive and I have no plans to take ot apart it is very cool and functional
I have the chiron and it is absolutely insane
too bad they're so expensive
Lego Technic should licence the Chevy Suburban! This vehicle will be the 1st in automotive history to hit 100 years of "continuous production" without a break. I would love to see this one made in Technic form.
I have 5 of these. Land rover, mack anthem, aroc, rough terrain crane and leibherr
I have chiron and sian I love them
They only took me like 3 days lol
I'll take 1 of each please. Love these sets
OK it'd be $2890
😂😂
Those tires on the crane are huge
I want a Lego Rolls-Royce so badly
I love this vid and I have the Mercedes arocs
I LOVE THE BUCKET WHEEL EXCAVATOR
42043 still has the best form/function, #1 for me.
Im making the Porsche now... pretty dope
Is how he said Chiron right the first time then say it wrong 🤣🤣😭
Just started the Lamborghini build last night. Only one box done and it took about 4 n a half hrs.
Nice
During summer I bought the Bugatti Chiron model and it was super fun to build! And now for Christmas I bought the Liebherr crane and I’m so excited to build it!
Hope you have fun 😊
Just got done building a Mould King Red GMK ltm 6.1. 4606 pcs though it's not lego brand I feel the quality was on point and was a great build.
I Like a lot of gears and a lot of parts !!!
I cant believe I made the 3th largest technic kit as a 13 year old and I felt it only took a day. Must have been alot of fun
I would love lego technic to do either the van out of A-team or Knight rider that would b kool
I have the liebherr r9800 and the thing took me like 20 hours to build (spit over three days)
Me in my dreams: I’ll take one of each, please!
I'm lucky to have the Mack Anthem, Mobile Crane, Mercedes Arocs, GT3 RS, Sián, and the Liebherr, they're all amazing, I do think the Mercedes-Benz Unimog U400 should have been on the list though
I have number 8 and number 6. I've built both versions of them and now I'm going and getting your number 1. Lol I can't wait to dig into that one. Nice list by the way.
Nr 8 is a beauty i kinda broke the motor it still works but its slow
Imagine if LEGO decided to make a replica of the Sagrada Familia to commemorate the completion of the real life structure itself.
Oh man... That would be absolutely heavenly! Got to wait till 2026 though haha.
I’ve got the Bugatti,an awesome build, saving up for the Lamborghini ,there’s a back order of about a month already, but will be worth the wait
I have the Crain, the bucket wheel excavator and the liebherr
I think they should make an rc boat
I was surprise to see I have 9 of these, might wait for good price on the Sian
Lucky duck
Make that 10 now
I love BTB and all that you guys do - showing always the inspiring side of our hobby.
Even this vid shows the fantastic Technic sets that TLC is producing now and how massive and intricate they are.
That said, not a single set in this "largest" list was produced prior to, well, very recently.
Im not saying the first 6 'supercars' (853 - 8448) should have made this list - there were so many better cars, as you showed here, made after those...
But to have a 'largest' Technic vid and not include the Space Shuttle? I mean largest built, obv, not piece count. :)
And the intricate mechanisms of the space shuttle, and the 9v...
Love the list, but you missed anything 4 digit.
This video is a list of the top 10 largest LEGO Technic sets. The placement of each set on the list is determined by piece count, so it's not up to us. Thanks for watching!
