The 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Is Still A Highly Desirable American Sports Car

- After nearly 3 years since its reveal, the 2023 #ChevroletCorvette is still the bargain price American Supercar that we've been waiting for. While Chevrolet has continued to expand the #C8Corvette family with the #Corvette Z06 and the upcoming E-Ray, the standard #CorvetteStingray is still an overachieving sports car that turns heads like a supercar.

Since I was a kid, Chevrolet always teased a Mid-Engine Vette. When the C8 was introduced, I suddenly wanted a Corvette. I just got my 3LT Rapid Blue Stingray and it’s better than I could have imagined!
Numb wheel
Have had my ‘23 C8 2LT Z51 with Magnetic Ride. Only 900 miles in six months. I’m going to drive it more now that spring has arrived. It has looks, power and comfort you just can’t get from other cars for $85k. Was about to sell it for a BMW M Car but I’m going to keep it. Never been a “Vette Guy” but who cares. It’s an amazing car. Get one and you’ll love it!
Same in games/sims I always hated how vipers and Corvettes orbited the engine. So when they anoced a mid engine corvette I suddenly wanted one instead of simply respecting it.

vs z06 better steering etc
@@dodgehemi5045 I’ll Google and take a look. Thx
This masterpiece is sick in every damn color. It's stunning on the roads
I actually prefer the Stingray over the Z06 because it offers more than enough performance for me and it's the bargain of the century. I'd go with a 2LT Z51 w/ magnetic ride, GT2 seats, axle lift and nothing else for $89k. You just can't beat that deal with any other high performance sports car.
You must have read my mind!
Totally agree! I love my C8 Stingray!❤
Absolutely agree for my own choice…in Hypersonic Gray 👍😎
I love my 2023 C8 w/ Z51. Handles fantastic, is fast as hell, and it gets tons of attention everywhere I go.

“Supply chain problems” = record profits selling vehicles
Facts. You’d think that a bunch of ‘brilliant and intellectual’ executives would’ve figured out a solution to “supply chain problems “ by now
Supply Constraints - purposely producing less so they can profit more. They are doing that with GM trucks now.
There are still supply chain problems. G.M. would make much more money by producing more cars if supply chain issues weren't a factor. The argument of an artificial constraint equals more money is false. The marginal profits per additional vehicle far outweigh any temporary spikes caused by supply disruptions. There's no conspiracy here.
@@weirdshibainu Oh whenever it’s GM, their haters will ALWAYS find a way to fault them for something. Now it’s their fault they are having supply chain issues because they’re doing it to raise their profits? These people are SO DUMB and clearly don’t know how profit works for car manufacturers.
LOUD, WRONG, and STUPID.
Also Devin, that just means Chevrolets must be worth the wait and the dealer markups if they’re breaking records in sales while experiencing supply chain issues.
Of course you take that and try to flip it around as if GM is corrupt. I’m almost sure you’re a Ford, Stellantis, or Tesla fanboy. How much you wanna bet?? 😂
So, I happened to surprise my wife with a 2022 C8 LT2 with the Z51 package. We both had corvettes when we first met in our twenties. So, it was a sentimental purchase.
I've been a car enthusiast since I was a teen. Had muscle cars, then bought my first vette 1962 at 21. It was semi customized, and it was and still is beautiful. It was a great feel to own, just not a great drive. but a head turner!
So, she took delivery of the C8 in March of 2022. She now has 11k miles on it (two long road trips attributed to half that mileage). She has no hesitation pushing the envelope with it. We do track it locally and even get it on a drag strip with some of the muscle cars. I am not a typical collector as we own them to use and really enjoy them.
We've had several other corvettes, and the C8 is impressive as its unlike any of the previous generations. The mid engine dual 8 speed clutch and much more chevy implemented changed the game for the corvette.
Now it's a far cry from the two Ferrari's. A 2020 F8 Tributo & 2019 Ferrari 488 GTB! You're also talking about a hugh sticker price difference.
We have 7 adult children and our 5th grandchild due soon, but there is still room for another car. I always wanted a Z06, so I have one on order, but a 2023 delivery is questionable. The vettes are just in my blood, but lean towards the Italian super cars.
This is such an amazing story. Im so happy that you were able to do this for your wife and you sound like an amazing grandfather. I am also a car enthusiast and am in my teenage years.
I’ve never seen you laugh and have so much fun in a car, not to mention the multiple speed tests! Gotta love launch control! Thanks for the great videos!
He wasn’t actually using launch control just holding the brakes. The actual launch control works when traction control is turned to Competition Mode and the revs are at 3000K RPM
@@jabariphillips8855 When I heard the RPMs going up with his foot on the brake and then he released and took off, I just assumed. I wasn’t paying full attention to what he was doing. 😊
@@jabariphillips8855 : That is why he is "only" getting 3.5 second 0-60 mph time.
Chevy really nailed this one. So happy the engineers took over the company. The Z07 is a beast. Cant imagine what the ZR1 will be like.
The C8 definitely looks exotic and i can see the appeal to younger buyers - not many can afford it though. Same thing was said when i bought my C7 (exotic looking and appealed to younger buyers) but i don't see many younger buyers on the C7.
It’s pretty exotic looking in real life I saw a white one yesterday and I had no idea what was coming down the road I actually thought Lamborghini from my distance and when it got closer I thought holy s$&t it was a C8 - very cool 👍🏻
the opening shot lol that wheel is basically the size of your leg
SORRY Soyfan, you need to do a little more research on this one:
1. The StIngray you are driving does indeed have a LSD. The Stingray has a mechanical LSD just not a E-LSD as the Z-51 does.
2. The Stingray you are driving does indeed have BREMBO brakes, they are just smaller with a different pad compound than the Z-51.
3. The Stingray you are driving does indeed have LAUNCH CONTROL. When stopped, Push the TCS OFF button twice, this will engage Launch. You will be able to launch at 3500 RPM, instead of the 1500 RPM you were doing. I routinely get 0-60 times of 2.9-3.1 sec depending on the surface in my 2LT convertible.
I know it is difficult getting all the details on every car you test, since you do so many. But with having this car for a week you should get to know it better. One thing is for sure. The Corvette certainly is performance bargain!
Just picked up my 2023, C8 3LT CHT, in Amplify Orange. This car is so much sweeter than I even expected it to be. ZERO regrets!!🤙🏼
Congrats. I love mine. Have been grocery getting in it for about a year now.
At 17:30, that was not a launch control launch. Launch control starts at 3500 RPM. You need to get it from PTM mode. BIG difference.
Another great review. My order just got submitted to the factory last week for a 2 LT, Z51, Mag Ride & GT2 seats. First Corvette that I have really wanted, since I will finally feel what it's like to own a mid-engine car and it has an amazing interior. Have been waiting 18 months and excited to finally get it.
Congrats! If you can still change your spec, I suggest switching to a 3LT because a 2LT with the GT2 seats is only $2,995 cheaper and you get full leather/higher resale with the 3LT
@@alexandercura1523 facts…my boy went with the 3LT for that exact reason!
Nice review. One note, the car you were in also has launch control, you just didn't engage it. Have it in Sport or Track mode. Press the traction control button twice to turn on competitive mode. Then you can launch by holding down the break fully, then holding down the gas fully. Release the break to launch. Every C8 has this function regardless of it being Z51 or not and regardless of it having the magnetic ride or not. If it were mag-ride you will have more options besides just 'competitive mode' when you 2X click the traction control button. You probably could have gotten 3s flat with launch.
Thank you for that correction!
Makes a big difference, too. You can't get the 3500 rpm without the launch control on, so by not knowing it is there (car expert?), this car was launching at, what, 2000? I've seen one Stingray pull off a 2.7 0-60, several more at 2.8. Even a $50K more expensive Z06 isn't much quicker.
Can’t wait. Mine arrives in couple of weeks. Z51 and MR.
Excellent review, new sub here. 👍🏼
It is a terrific car that competes with cars at much much higher price points. Hopefully, one day people will stop saying, “It is a great car for the price.” It is a great car…period.
This is the first one Ive seen in this colour of blue. I like it.
One correction. All Stingrays have a limited slip diff. The Z51 adds an electronic one. Base car is mechanical.
That's right!!! 👍
Yeah, I was thinking: how could any corvette not have posi??
Yes! And one more correction.. the 8-DCT is not Chevy designed like said around the 18 min mark, it is a Tremec and of the same model family as the 7-DCT in the GT500 mustang
One more addition, the “base” non z51 also has launch control (while in track hit traction control twice etc etc etc)
Excellent, comprehensive review. Nice to see you closing in on 1,000,000 subs 👍🏽
@14:20 Using Launch Control would have gotten your 0-60 time closer to 2.9-3.1 seconds, you don’t need Z51 package for that either.
Yup just double tap t/c
I did it in 2.7 with a non z51 using launch control on all season tires
@@Mb789xI have no idea how to launch my car😢 is it just buttons or what lol?
@@jennylegrande1240 you’ll have to put the car in Sport, hit the ESP button twice to turn it off. Then, all you have to do is keep your left foot on the brake, push the throttle with your right foot, and then quickly lift off the brake pedal.

Great review on the Stingray. Can I ask what piece did you use with you window go pro for the angle?
I say the C8 is exotic looking. Well done Corvette Design Team! I like the C8 & C7 tail-lights.
Want one of these once my tlx ends next summer, but trying to lease or finance one of these is nuts. The markups are absurd.
I bought a 2022 Corvette Stingray 1LT and I had my grey wheels powder coated high gloss metallic black and my Uniden R8 radar detector installed along with a Blue attack air filter and a Corsa Extreme catback muffler delete with AFM valves and Now my car looks and Sounds like an F1 supercar and I Love it So Much More than my 2018 mustang GT I sold recently to buy the C8 !!! Great video Sir ;) Mark~
How much was that exhaust?
I am stuck on whether to keep my 2018 Mustang GT or sell it. I was looking at the 2022 Camaro ZL1 but the C8 is looking like a better choice.
@@tmike200687 I’m sorry, but either option is better than a fukstang, lol. They sound bad azz though, even more so than my 🐈. But at da end of da day, it’s a FORD. C8 vs a ZL1 is a HARD choice, can’t go wrong either way. I got a ‘18 camaro SS m6 that is my next vehicle out & im in your same situation
@@livinglife3230 Lol definitely agree. I love the 18 SS Camaros. M6s are so badass. May keep the mustang for daily use and have the ZL1 or C8 be my fun weekend car.
Base 911 is now $116k…..crazy value here.
Non z51 does have launch control. You have to go on competitive mode. You need to put it in sport mode or track mode, then press the traction control twice. Hold the brake and it’ll rev to 3500 rpm on full throttle
In Canada, the 1lt with red pin stripe rims, performance exhaust and magnetic ride, edge red engine cover and calipers and a cover and lock nuts and front exchanger vent screens brings it to $101,000 including tax.(Canadian) $76,300 US bucks
Nice review keep up the good work Redline
One of the best values if you want this type of vehicle…but an extra $700 for painted calipers is ridiculous. Options make these cars a cash cow for GM.
No limited slip differential unless Z51 pkg is ordered? Thanks for the heads up.
👌great review gave a better idea of what to do when i get mine ,sure adding a stat c8 wing will be to my advatage like the review done on the VictorRacing wing one 👌

I would be totally happy with the basic 3LT Stingray LOL
I have to get one of these ! That body style and being mid engine thats just awesome really like that interior too !
Btw track mode should not be on unless you’re at a track. It’s bad for the car. Correct me if I’m wrong but when I was looking into the corvette that’s what the sales rep kept telling me.
Yes, please review the regular models, instead of the most expensive ones, b/c most people buy regular models.
Agreed. This is the trim and build I'd take for a C8. Plenty fast enough and more daily driveable.
Mine was made today and I pick it up the 14th at the mesuem!

I'm waiting for my C8 hardtop convertible. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Grand sport variant? First I’ve heard of this but great review as always
Base with Z-51 package in Rapid Blue is all I need ;-) What a performance steal. Would be my play car so not interested in luxury options or additional weight.
24:30 Has it been 70 years! I often miss my '78 (25 anniv) Vette.
Love love this design of the Vette only thing I'm not a fan of is that square steering wheel rather have a proper round with flat bottom . Love the color as well . Any idea on how the reliability of this design has been.?
At first I didn’t really like the square steering wheel. But now that I own one, it’s really grown on me. I wouldn’t change it now.
Fell in love all over again with my ‘23 C8. Bailed on the M2 I ordered.
C8 Corvette is Chevy's halo car and game changer. It looks, sounds and performs like a Ferrari but at a fraction of the cost.💯
E-Ray replaces the Grand Sport. I believe one of the Corvette exec staff said that. Likewise, the Zora might replace the ZR1 as basically an E-Ray with the 6.2L OHV LT2 replaced by the 5.5L FPC LT6.
Excellent video. I love this car.......🇺🇲👍💯
Literally the only review that conveys any sense of fun or joy with the C8
Love that color. Choose that one for my build. ✌🏾🙏🏽
May we request a review of a 2023 2LT C8 Corvette Coupe with the *Z51 package* plus _Magnetic Selective Ride Control_ and _Front End Lift._
Please and thank you.
These are, by far, the top three most frequently selected options on the C8 Corvette. Z51 Performance Package + Magnetic Ride + Front End Lift. With the 2LT being the predominate choice when choosing a trim level.
Stay classy my friend.
I love my 2020 C8. I like your visible roof. Does it weigh less than the standard roof?
Love those color seats, but you have to get the Z51.
A lot of people are getting well below 3 seconds in the non z51 car. Also the non z51 does have a locking diff, just not electric but mechanical.
Without the Z51 package, GM rates the 0-60 of this model at 3.1 seconds
Funny, for $92,000 NEW, a Jaguar F-Pace SVR SUV does 3.8 😮 And you can mod the pss out of them with pulleys & tune, downpipes
I have NEVER seen GM quote 3.1. What they have said is it's @ .1 sec slower than the Z51. Most of the CZcamsr owners have Z51s and like to show their cars turning 2.7 sec 0-60 on the wildly inaccurate built in timer. I ran a 2.65 with my non Z51 C8 (you can get times to the 1/00 sec using the PDR) so there is little real world difference, especially if you have the performance exhaust and that massive 5 extra horsepower.

Your 0-60 time in the Carerra T was actually a second slower than the 3.5 second you got from this Corvette.
That is a good looking car, except for rear view. I wish these have same center exhaust as Z06.
2023 Chevrolet Corvette C8 Stingray 3LT Coupe!
In comparison to all previous generation Vettes, this one's interior looks Bentley-esque.
You mention Grand Sport a few times, when do you think the Grand Sport is supposed to come out?
I love this car ! 😊
As far as a manual if they will add it I dont think so I believe the competition of the other exotic car rivals of the C8s size only has DCT trans that’s what I think
If you are into sports cars, handling that stick is 80 per cent of driving it.
You gotta be old school to understand.
Too bad you didn’t realize the non z51 also has launch control, if you utilized it, it’d have similar 0-60 times than the Z51.
How much after Adjusted Market Value ?
What type of question is this? That would depend on your market area and your local dealers. Dealer markups have absolutely nothing to do with the manufacturer, despite how much y’all would like to point the finger at GM, it ain’t their fault their products are highly desirable and customers are willingly paying markups that they don’t have to pay in order to get their vehicles. There are dealerships that do not charge markups.
So to ask this question underneath a review of the vehicle is asinine. Perhaps you’re just *trolling.*
How'd you like the manual transmission? Oh I forgot. GM couldn't figure out how to engineer one. First time since 1953 which had auto only.
1982 had auto only...
Lol. They didn't spend the money developing a manual ( which kept the world class sports car at a very affordable price) because nobody bought them in 2018 and 2019. Everyone wants a manual corvette but nobody buys new ones.
Cant wait to get mine. To all the vette lovers I hope 2 ride past you…
Keep in mind folks this company also makes refrigerators and weapons so the fact they can deliver a car like this ( at this price) is frankly amazing ! They didn't have to bother. They could stick to fridgedairs and whatnot but why not rattle Ferrari's cage a bit. By the way it costs 1 third the price of its Italian fans and it doesn't cost $1000 per mile yea you read that right in repairs! No shit!
🎉🎉🎉Another awesome review Thanks so much!!!

Honestly where I live you cannot touch a 2023 Stingray for under 90k. I was gouged 10k when I bought mine but I had to take the chance when I had it due to the supply chain issues. My only complaint is the paint defect that happens around the front headlights. This should not still be happening 3.5 years later 😢 it devalues the car immensely 😢
the rear will look better i think, if they will enlarge the black area from the air diffuser......with the big rear body color area, its just like a camaro
I wonder if you'll ever review a Lambo or Ferrari... Since you've already reviewed McLaren and Porsche..

Damn, it's a dream car. Hope to import it to India one day!
Also I prefer the Stingray over the Z06 despite the lack of power. The 6.7 litre V8 is just sick!
If GM would only execute at this level for everything they make. I still think the C7 looks better, but this C8 is the best overall Vette ever.
Lovely Colour 💙
You apparently don't know much about the C8. The non Z51 has launch control, something you didn't use or where just ignorant of. 0-60 is @ .1 sec slower at most (the test car has the performance exhaust so same extra 5 hp as Z51 so only acceleration ability difference is the different rear axle ratio and the ability to select different launch rpms. On level freeway you can get close to 30 mpg at 75 mph. I'm on my second C8, 3LT. As to the interior, if you upgrade to GT2 seats which use Napa leather, about the only difference you can see is the center of the steering wheel. The other leather in the 2LT is indistinguishable from 3LT.
Bro, you are 100% accurate! I like Sofyan. Been watching his reviews for years. However, he drives me absolutely nuts with his factual inaccuracies on some of his reviews. No LSD on a base?!?! Wtf is he talking about?? I wanted to stick needles in my eyes while listening to him misinform the masses about lack of launch control on a base. THEY ALL HAVE LAUNCH CONTROL!! Owners are getting 0-60 times in the high 2's and low 3's in the non-Z51 versions. 0-60 in 3.5 secs?!? Psssh. Let's see if he makes any addendums to this vid if enough owners like you and I call him out for the inaccuracies...i know he means well, and I do enjoy his reviews, but, Sofyan, please do better...
@mcas mcas Exactly. I'm viewing this video, and I'm asking myself why isn't he using launch control? He's barely hitting 2500 rpms before taking off, of course his 0-60 sucks. I'm constantly hitting 2.9 to 3.1 depending how well I hook on my 2023 C8 Z51. He needs to use launch control hitting the 3500 rpm before launching it.
Strangely these depreciate about the same as porsche, but the gains will be far less on the upswing.
Weird how they got this car so right but are killing the Camaro.
*What happen To Your Camera Man* ??

I went to a dealer to see how much to order one (1LT). They want $18K over MSRP. LOL
Keep looking. There are dealers that don't charge markups. You have to wait to be able to place your order, but it seems like that wait is getting shorter
Do they still sell those 25k above MSRP?
No

C8 comes with a limited slip. The Z51 tacks on an e-LSD, which is same same but different. Keep urself informed mi amigo.
