    Good review, especially concerning short chips and pitches. I've had the SC200 for about two years and I like it alot. I don't worry about chips and pitches because I can see the results up close but on anything further than 100 yards it is spot on. If you want to or can afford the 500+ for the 300, go for it but if you're on a budget, the 200 is great for most people. You can tune in the loft of each club as well to personalize your specific set to your liking. You must set it up correctly and have it on the same level on the ground as the ball you're hitting or it won't read properly. Otherwise, it's a great product for dialing in distances and specific club uses.

    Nice review. I have the SC200 and really only use it for full shots, so I'll stick with that one. Of course, nothing is fool-proof. I thinned driver yesterday and it rolled about 150 yards, but the SC200 told me that I bombed it 326!!!

    I pulled the trigger on the SC300. The selling point was the phone sync (we are in 2019 after all) and the APEX. I read that the SC300 is more accurate on short game (bigger sensor) - you proved it here. The battery was the last point - lets go green. The price on the SC300 is a shocker but I see the value over time. Top review, thanks!

  • @samphotoyt
    @samphotoyt Před 5 lety +2

    I'm returning mine. Today I went to the driving range and it was all over the place. I was getting readings that were 10-20 yards shorter than I was actually hitting my gap wedge (as measured with a laser) for example. On some shots it would be spot on, on others (about 50%) it was so far off as to be laughable. The final straw for me was at the end of the practice session, when I was good and warmed up and hitting the ball well, I pured my gap wedge and it flew 120+ plus yards, which is right on where I would expect for this kind of hit, and I looked down and the SC300 was showing 94.6 yards.
    It did seem as if it was getting the club head speed about right, but I can get something for $180 that will do that. The point of this unit was to get all the other data and it is all over the map.
    I don't know, maybe I got a bad one but I set it up exactly as described in the manual, including customizing all the lofts and putting it on exactly the same height as the ball and the seemingly random results continued. After 3-4 sessions at two different driving ranges, I gave up and am sending it back. $550 is too much for something that can't judge the difference between a 120 yard shot and a 95 yard one consistently.

    Bought the sc300 last week and I couldn’t be happier. There are times when it doesn’t read a shot but that would be maybe 2/10 shots. Not terrible but could’ve been me not lined up correctly. Overall I’m very pleased with this product. I hope some day they incorporate side spin and split the screen (phone or iPad app) to view the curvature of a shot. Wishful thinking perhaps. IO received mine today and tried it in my garden hitting into the net. Unfortunately it does not work very well. I had to mess around with distance from the ball to the net and the SC300 to even get some shots detected. Most of the time, it does not detect the shots. When it detects a shot with my 7 iron, which I normally hit 130-140m carry, it gets an average of 60m. Ok, I did not make full swings, but should be way beyond 100m. Maybe I do something wrong. The manual says it should have a minimum distance to the net of 6.5 ft, what should be around 2m. I have a distance of 3-4m. Would prefere at 2-3m max, because of the risk missing the net. Any ideas? Sometimes it gives E1 on the display. Did not finde error codes somewhere in the manual or on the internet.

    The trouble with buying all these things is that you start accumulating older equipment. I have the 100 model. I wonder if they take trade-ins? lol

    Is it not just an expensive gapping tool? I’d love it if they added swing path and face angle to help groove a swing. Fair comment? Also, any chance of comparing to trackman or gc quad?

      It's important to note that the sc200 and sc300 only measure club head speed and ball speed. ALL other information is calculated (estimated) from those two numbers. With Doppler it cannot track swing path and face angle. Apex height and launch angle will not be specific to each golfer, probably worthless since everyone presents their club to the ball differently. Of course, if you're hitting balls on a full range, you can just look at the ball flight and have a good idea about those stats.

    Well now I know it works on bad shots, I might get one. Is there nothing about side spin? I mean you don't need it hear but, if you're hittin' in a net.

    Hey, I purchased SC300 through your discount link, and found that the price in the link is not really discounted, considering that the pouch (worth $50~55) is not included. Disappointed.

    Nice video. Be even better if you had a partner and laser him from where the ball stops and publish distances. Seems NOBODY does this and it would be so easy to accomplish. Thanks

      Ball speed divided by club head speed. A good hit is 1.45
