  • During the golden age of the Chosun Dynasty, a time when Korea flourished in culture, the arts, and sciences, the secrets of royal cuisine were kept hidden behind palace walls. And along with the fall of this grand era, this five-century old culinary art disappeared through the cracks of history. Today, chef Misook Park strives to resurrect and bring the dishes from over 100 years ago to the people. Travel through time between Korea’s mysterious past and fiercely modern present on this exciting journey as royal cuisine comes alive at Chef Park’s fingertips.

I love the koreanovela "Jewel in the Palace". I never missed an episode. It was even translated in Filipino language and aired in Prime time TV in the Philippines.

This is fabulous. I got interested in the historical Royal cuisine after I saw the Sageuk “Dae Janggeum “ and I’m very curious about it. I’m glad there’s people bringing it back so that it’s not lost forever

The historical records recorded the ingredients but not the preparation methods and steps. So the recreations are all just made up? What's authentic and what'a not?

Agreed. She talks about Slow food, but slow food isnt about throwing away viable but not "perfect" broth, because that broth could have still been used for something else.

1 piece of meat next to 3 pieces of vegetable on a skewer *facepalm*. this all looks just so bland, cold and unappealing (except the soup i gotta admit). you need succulent haunches and racks of lamb, deer, hog and whatnot, THAT would be a meal fit for a king. all this meal is fit for is "king of the ants"!
