Man it's great to see you in non-comedy mode. Love your US v Russia videos. I'm an English teacher and most of my students are Russian so your videos really crack me up. I've got huge respect for someone who can move countries at the age you did, not only in terms of language but everything.
I really feel you. I moved to Moscow when I was 19 and I really didn’t want to. My ex husband is Georgian and I moved for him, because we didn’t have enough money for him to move to the UK. I’m British and was born in the UK. Now I’ve been in Moscow almost 9 years and I love it. I don’t want to go back to the UK.
Eduard, thank you, that video very interesting and inspiration.
Moving from Moscow to LA sounds like a radical leap into the unknown. Glad it worked out for you :) i've been on the move for over 6 years, Casablanca to Bordeaux to south of Italy then Nice & now in Spain, hopefully for some time 😅 I get that itch every now & then to just pack my s*it & go, but then again, I strangely don't get rooted anywhere. Sure, I end up missing certain aspects of the places I've lived in but in a somewhat cold detached fashion. I'd sure love to visit Russia at some point, don't care much for the US, never have. This was a refreshingly genuine perspective, good luck hombre !
I love the realness and rawness of his self in this. You can really feel the emotion emulating from him upon telling his story and how he felt. I want more things like this. He is the real article. And I am here for it. Storytime talks are my fave. ❤
Aww, I'm sorry school was rough- I can't imagine all the bullying you experienced. Could you maybe do a video about the day you made your first American friend? How old were you? Did that happened after you learned English?
At such a young age and especially moving to the Valley I understand why you hated it at first. This video gave me perspective on not just for my final assignment in political anthropology but also going to field school in Ecuador. I emailed Dr. Lowe my concerns and the embassy there. I was advised that I most likely will be racially discriminated against. If I go this summer I would be the first African American and African American woman to spend two months in the Amazon rainforest to work at their archeological site. I also don’t know how to speak Spanish so I’m beyond overwhelmed. Thank you for sharing your story with all of us here.
I was about 9 years old coming to America. Boy was I very scared nervous but also excited at the same time. But it wasn't easy sadly. We didn't speak English so it was very hard to make friends or understanding people and knowing the whole world.... but we warmed up to it took time but did it.
I moved to the States when I was 7. I can't imagine how hard I would have been if I was older. Learning the language was also hard plus bullying. I'm 23 and I look back on how much I've learnt in these years. Good story and keep up the great work. Don't stop now you come so far.
Yeah I feel you. Thanks for sharing your story. i’m french and moved often to other countries and I had friends who had to love often too because their parents are diplomats. So it’s hard to adapt to a new country especially when you can’t communicate and have no friends. I totally understand you. I have a lifetime diet so it’s another challenge when you move to another country but can’t eat what you can and have to adapt
Bro I had a similar situation, I was born in America but most of my life I lived in Mexico until things didn't get well in the country I was living so my family and I had to go to USA. It was hard to learn English and also need to act different when I talk or hang out with people. Thank God there were Mexican students to so we became good friends. By the way the food was so different to but now I live in the to countries and I travel all lot.😅 😅😅 Thx for reading it my god bless you❤❤
I'm 12 (but i'm too mature for my age). I was born in Turkiye. 6 months ago, i moved to germany with my parents. First time i didnt want to come there, but i thinked that "it would be better for me". And i hope it will be. I had (Actually I still have bad times psychologically) bad times. I think 100 other things about the moving. But i guess i have to stay in Germany, for my future. Now i'm learning German it's like that. And i don't have friends now but i didnt have real friends in Turkiye so it doesnt matter for me. So like this, i hope everything will be good
my parents lived in Lebanon and then moved to Canada in 2006 they found it super hard at first and they really didn’t wanna go but they had no choice since Lebanon isn’t the greatest place to live but my parents are glad to be here now

I was 20 when I moved to LA and it was just from NYC so I knew the language, yet it was still depressing. You didn't move from Russia to the US- you moved from Russia to this town which is a bubble in some ways. Stick to being genuine and let me remind you that the masks you see being worn all around you have nothing on raw authenticity like from Russians or NYers. Show them it's ok to not have to filter everything we feel and say, just based on material values and critical judgement from the outside. (Half Russian, btw 😊)
I only visited the USA once when I was 11 an half years old. I would've been home sick if I stayed in the USA for more than a week because I always felt like I belonged here in Canada.

Хочу уточнить. Он сказал что они переехали в Америку когда ему было около 12 лет (в 2010 году). Не просто “чуть-позже”.
