      Well, Biden hasn’t led in a poll in months. Although I’m sure the Dims have figured it all out with ballot harvesting and mail-in votes that’ll give them enough to overtake a 10-point lead at 3am.

    The campaign rally in Wildwood was brilliant. People ask why the rally in a Blue State? 1: The number of attendees. 2: Wildwood although in New Jersey, is in the Philadelphia TV Market, so it got lots of local coverage. Donald Trump even mentioned Pennsylvania. He needs the moderate voters outside of Philadelphia . If he can win them, he wins the election.

    I think we have to remember that Trump also under polls. It’s not quite as bad as it used to be, but there are still people who don’t want to publicly show support for Trump, whether on a pole or anything else. And in fact, I think there’s going to be more Trump voters this time that are first time Trump voters, and they’re definitely going to carry that with them. Basically, I don’t think he can be overrepresented, he can only be under represented, and it’s by how much. Worst case scenario is its spot on.

    • @Megatherium
      @Megatherium Před měsícem

      I'm about 70% sure that some of the pollsters figured out how to calibrate for Trump. The problem for them wasn't only the social desirability responses, but that all their demographic models were completely inapplicable to Trump's electorate. They have to use past data to estimate turnout of different demos, and so that screwed their model, even for exit polls. Combined with Trump voters disproportionately claiming to be undecided, they have failed bigly. The problem is that now they have two elections of data, and if they are trying to learn from their past mistakes, then they could easily overcompensate. It has never been easier to publicly support Trump. And now they know the turnout he gets. I expect the polls to be completely off yet again, but it's now very possible that they could be wrong in either direction. I think one piece of evidence for this is the especially large variability in polls in some swing states. Some pollsters are putting Biden 10 points ahead of the overall state average. My guess is that those pollsters are using the older methods and models.

    Also, we’re just under six months away, and I just heard yesterday that he’s going to be fined $100 million for taking advantage of tax benefits that he shouldn’t of or something. Basically, I think the betting markets are being realistic and knowing the Democrats are not going to quit and six months is still a long time and there’s still a lot that can be done not to mention what is being done right now could be enough.

      @@bryantsteury8910 Well for one, Trump's solutions for economic growth are cheap bandaids with no foresight, just like those of other GOP politicians since 1992.
      Russia would've still invaded Ukraine under Trump. Afghanistan would've still been a disaster. And Oct 7 would've been even worse.
      A problem I have with Trump that separates me from your typical boomerlib, though is this: Trump's "sane advisors" that the media loves to lionize are, in some cases, the real root of the problem.
      Trump doesn't seem to understand the populistic ideas and policies he hints towards. He still glorifies this idea of the U.S. being the altruistic leader of the free world, even as he makes moves away from international "globalist" organizations and really, the whole concept of the US having allies or enemies. This would probably be a better direction to take the country after embarrassing itself in the 2000s, but Trump insists on going to NATO/G-whatever summits without even understanding that the rest of the elite live on a different plane of reality than he does. The right thing to do, or at least the genuine "ideological" thing to do, would be to just leave NATO and possibly the UN, and not show up to G-summits at all. But the establishment Republicans that he keeps hiring are probably preventing him from doing so, making all his moves look like a spoiled toddler whining about orders from the "correct" people.
