  • This is how I turned a $100 repair into a $500 repair by not being aware of the inline fuse built into the starter cable that can prevent the starter from receiving enough amps to turn the car over but enough voltage to sound like its engaging but faulty.
    Starter Fuse Part no.: 31376602

The stater is making a sound and it shows the power of the battery is fine but the engine is not getting power to start. So what might be the problem?

    您好!看了您的視頻有一個個人經驗交流一下電纜的對接最好再錫焊一下再用熱縮套管作絕緣應該是更好的!祝一切安好!

Are you not supposed to cut off the copper hairs? I needed to cut some off in the part I was connecting the new piece to and I had to cut some of the copper hairs off to get them to fit together

Did someone already suggest replacing the entire cable? Costly, but then no angst around crimping.

Thanks for the video. Mine stoped at a stop light and would re start watched a video about the fuse.I’ll I had was a piece of 1/4 inch copper in the trunk cut a piece off and used a napkin to insulate myself and jumped fuse. Got it home. I can’t believe the price. You said they were proud of the starter and they’re quite proud of that fuse and wire also.

Before you changed the cable did the car start at all? I have an issue and where my v60 does not start 20% of the time or sounds weak starting. I don’t use the start/stop feature any more because of it.

Once the fuse breaks current can't reach the starter so it completely stops functioning. Perhaps you have a crack in the fuse that's still letting 'some' through?

    Hi similar issues on t5 s60 2012 ,
So if i understand that correctly it was just a battery fuse? but you have to replace it with while cable right?

I'm doing my start motor just feel like I'm wrestling anything that booster pipe you moved over to get the starter me off did you take the whole thing off or just or just that little section

I only disconnected the intake hose from the throttle body to get a little extra wiggle room, it's a real tight puzzle to get it in without taking a bunch of stuff off but it is possible (or at least it was in my case). Good luck!

Hydraulic crimper is the only way with high Amp Cables.

$30 bucks on Amazon gets you both a large gauge cutter and crimp tool.
