- A prophecy came true, the pure child is born. The no-heart creature sealed in the underworld by the wise owls is about to rise again. Many weird and funny characters to meet and help will put the player into the amazing world of Baldo, an action adventure rpg, full of puzzles, intriguing gameplay mechanics, and intricate dungeons to solve spread through a wide, interactive open world. There will be towns to discover, secrets to unveil, useful items to buy, and weapons to collect.
Baldo releases on Nintendo Switch late summer 2020.

Yes... I especially felt that when I saw the cat walk past on two legs followed shortly after by some weird ancient robot thing...
This is like if someone combined Zelda with Ghibli.
I mean, BOTW already went halfway there, but this is like a step further...
Huge Ghibli fan over here. I noticed a reference to almost every fantasy Ghibli film, like Kamaji the boiler room worker in spirited away, standing cats like in The Cat Returns, the forest spirits in Princess Mononoke, the robots in Castle in the Sky, and more.
They didn’t take any exact designs, but a lot of things just seem like bootleg Ghibli stuff. I’m sure it’ll be more fun to see these references than annoying when you’re actually playing it though.

They even have a cat from Yhe Cat Returns and Tree Spirits from Princess Mononoke

Ni no kuni is developed by Level 5. Ghibli only help doing some scenes.
And Baldo style is definitely inspired from Ni no kuni. But the game is made by a smaller studio so it will not look as good, but still the game looks beautiful.

These guys are around since the Amiga days, and they were capable to pull out some impressive games for the system. They truly develop games with the heart.

In case anyone hadn't twigged... 'baldo' means 'bold' in Italian (the studio is based in Sicily)

Indie games are more impressive than most triple A games coming out nowadays.
@@TheNintendoWizrad I mean. The vast majority of indie games are worse than the majority of triple A's, but Indies have more opportunities to really let talented devs thrive. So you can end up with a real gem, but most Indies are about as interesting as the next call of duty (problem even worse if I'm honest)
@@JACpotatos that's purely because there is more of them coming out. I comparison with the quantity the same can be said about triple A games. Si many of them are the same. And that includes the call of duty and battlefields of the world.
Very few AAA games come out and truly surprise. Whereas games like minecraft, stardew valley, hollow knight, world of goo, rocket League, steamworld dig, cuohead, ori, untitled goose game and many others basically take over the gaming landscape and do something a bit different. Impressive stuff. Just sad people dont try to pay attention as much because so many gems come out of the scene.
@@TheNintendoWizrad Indie games are the reason I started PC gaming. Though I'm a huge sucker for physical releases... that's why I still use consoles, and for Nintendo games

The robot in 0:47 looks exactly like the robot in 'castle in the sky' movie from ghibli.

I like the environment puzzles that is missing from games now days. This game reminds me of Alundra a bit. It's one of my favorite action RPG that had a lot of dungeons with puzzles and enemies. It also dealt with going into people's dreams to combat what is possessing their dreams which is making the person ill and near death. Very challenging and fun game
