Do Adolf's Dad!!!
She’s honestly the most tame one on the list so far
Which is very weird considering her nickname
What’s sad is I can’t even argue with that
Like this still happens. I don’t know anyone who’s mother threw them and their wife+baby out after they refused to be her puppet ruler, but plenty of people have shitty alcoholic parents
YES ANOTHER
Besides being leaving her behind in some bar and drinking their income away, she wasn't actively abusive towards her daughter, just reckless and neglectful
Little Calamity is such a kickass name
Giving me terraria vibes

well, the average alcoholic parent is usually quite abusive

@@ecurewitz Very much so yes
To be fair, she at least tried to give her what she needed after realising it.
Edit: Doesn’t make her a good mother, but you can tell she genuinely cared about her, even if she failed big time.
Jane: "Hey listen I realize I haven't been the best mom, but I'm going to try from this point on. I'm going to try and raise money so you can go to school!"
Jessie: "You already drank it all didn't you."
Jane: "YUP!" *passes out*
I wouldn't think too highly of a parent that started a GoFundMe for the kid for a good cause and then embezzled the funds for their own vices.
Great that she *tried* to do the right thing but, any attempt to follow through would've made it worth the spit spent saying it.

I think a best dads/moms series could be a good idea.
Not really. People on average find the baddest/worst to be far more interesting. It's why wild headlines get all the views and interest. More people would rather watch a vid like this than a decent parent, because there's no excitement or intrigue. It's boring.
@@mulqueen2023 Fair lol, I just thought it could be a positive counterpart to the series.
I don't think it'd be boring like people think. A lot more people have been more infatuated with good news and good history lately due to so much negativity in the world, plus I'm sure there's been a few with interesting stories. Like an ancient ruler who erected statues of his kids in gold or cemented them as gods, stuff like that
@@lobstersonskateboards3988 Thanks!
The best parents usually are not any famous people, because they spent their time with their families instead of pursuing their careers
poor Jessie, at least her mother apart from getting drunk wasn't too "worst" (from what the documents we have tell us)
Yeah. She could have gotten stuck with the mother of Kathrine the Great: belittling her and verbally abusing her
@@Grim_Sister OK, so imagine this. You are told by your mother, who has failed you several times before already, that this time she'll get it right. This time, you'll be somewhere stable. And you watch as she gets halfway to doing right by you and then drinks it all away in the same night.
I've been insulted by my father. I was verbally, physically, and sexually assaulted by him dozens of times apiece. His constant failures to follow through on his word and do better cut deeply and put me through their own kind of hell. Those can take the longest to heal. Her daughter could not trust the one person she was told to trust the most. And that can fricking KILL YOU inside.
How even DARE YOU presume to rate abuses, especially when you clearly haven't felt any of them enough to realize it isn't a competition. There isn't a ranking. Jane was a horrible mother. Catherine was a horrible mother. There are no objective standards against which you can say "at least blah isn't XYZ."
@@lysanamcmillan7972Hey, are you ok?
Judge: what do you have to say for your drunken crimes?
Her: *im pregnant*
I mean. She wasn’t a great mom- but her parental failings came from her losing to her inner demons. And from her being extremely chaotic
That sounds like an excuse
I mean much better then the others in this list who are outright malicious@@ErenKruger-qx3dt
@@purrgiri9862How is exactly is it better? Do you need legit malice or active intent to harm to be abusive?
@alexgomez6723 it's better as it is not an intentional mistreatment. There is a reason why Manslaughter and Murder have two diffrent jail times. Direct intent to kill as apposed to an accidently killing. The same thing goes for this particular incident where she is not actively trying to harm her daughter but is instead loosing to her own disorder involving drinking at a time when there was not yet good help for that.
@@hadeskingoftheunderworld7010 Like I said, intent isn’t the issue here, it’s CONSEQUENCES. If someone was being irresponsible and reckless which resulted in manslaughter, than that person is still guilty, and the results are the same, someone died, that’s an objective fact. That person is morally responsible for someone dying, regardless if there was intent or not. This isn’t something you should play “lesser evil” with, we grow as a civilization by holding ourselves accountable and setting better standards for ourselves.
Calamity Jane wasn't a terrible a person like so many on this list. She was amazing, in fact. She just didn't know how to be a mom.
she is confused but she diffinatly got the spirit
@@yossifhadadueah the part abt raising school money but xrinking it afterwards, is even that bad of a parent just an alcoholic, she at least did the effort
@@galacticpotato833 I mean...robbing your child of a future to feed your addiction is kinda bad.
It's understandable why it happened, but that doesn't mean it's excusable.
@@Awaken_To_0 i ain't saying is excusable, im saying that she wasn't that bad as most of his actions were bc of his addiction instead of beikg concious acts
@@galacticpotato833 Yes?
When you say "X action isn't as bad because of Y reason" that's called _excusing that action._
If I say "I was late to work, but that's because my car broke down." I'm saying that being late to work is bad, but it's less bad in my case because I have the excuse of broken transportation.
If I say "my child neglect isn't as bad because I'm addicted to alcohol, sex, meth, gambling or coke," then child neglect is my action and addiction is my _excuse._
If I say, "I neglected my child due to my addiction. That doesn't make it better or right, but that's why it happened." Then I'm making an _explanation_, but not an _excuse._
To be fair, compared to most of the others parents in this entire series, Jane ain't that bad. She can at least say she made an effort to try and raise her daughter. Was she good at it? By all means no. But she can say she at least tried.
Honestly, as much as I am familiar with the parts that suck about having a mother that drinks too much, I'd take that anyway over one that actually wants to harm me, or even one who sees me as a possession of hers rather than a person.
@lilpetz500 sorry you had to go through that. Hopefully you're doing better.
Yeah, literally if she didn't have the habit she did? She'd be a pretty kickass mom.
Still what she did was bad (as it was Neglect), still not as bad as Henry Ford who'd ABUSED HIS SON TO HIS LITERAL GRAVE and was confused and wondered if he was the one responsible!
Or Wu Zetian who was a sociopathic monster who was all too ready to discard her children if it benefitted her.
John Marston in a nutshell
At least she wasn't sadistic, just struggling with addiction
"And throw rocks at her", bro bullyng was different back in those days.

The Al Swearengen from Deadwood cameo? Ace! 😂
I love how the drunkenness court case would be the other way around now
Nice touch with Al Swearengen
She's my great great great great great grandmother.
Hopefully the alcoholism skipped the generations?
I wouldn't call her the worst mother in history (or one of). Sure she had quite a bad alcohol addiction but it sounds like she genuinely cared about her daughter & wanted the best for her (even if she accidentally forgot her that 1 time) 😅
She's a terrible mother in a very mundane, understandable way.
How did she show she cared about her daughter? Throwing the fundraiser for school, that she drank it all up. It sounds like everything she did was for herself, and Jessie was just a useful tool to get her out of trouble when she needed it. I know many children didn't survive to adulthood back then but have to wonder how much of a better chance at survival she would have had with a mother that wasn't a drunk.
Nah. Mothers who care don't drink while pregnant. And anyone who spends their child's ENTIRE tuition fee in ONE NIGHT, on DRUGS, definitely deserves to be on a "Worst mom's of all time" list. She saw a crossroad between giving her kid a more stable life or feeding her own addiction, and she chose the latter, fucking up her kids own future. Sure she wasn't a machivalian schemer nor was she straight up torturing her kid, but she decided to let her addiction ruin her kids life. The fact she knew she was a terrible mother does not change the fact that she's a terrible mother
@@shinobix4925 Do you know how recent that "no drinking during pregnancy" is? Especially Stout was seen as beneficial, also after the pregnancy, good for milk production.
@@slome815hell this is the 1800s. You could be prescribed alcohol by your local doctor if it was needed. Hell doctors poured almost as much liquor as actual bartenders.
And that's if they didn't prescribe you morphine, heroin or cocaine
She was a mom !?!?!?
Let's hope that Jessie wasn't too much like her mother when she was a mother herself

Calamity Jane is so cool tho. You can check out her grave if you’re in the deadwood area, I’ve been there once!
Little Calamity is a very fitting name. 😅
Tbh she’s the only mom so far to be not abusive
She was abusive. You clearly know nothing about how it is to be raised by a drinker who can't follow through on promises and abandons you.
The rare deadbeat mom
The real life "Little Miss Fortune" 😂
I mean she could easily save herself by saying “My mom’s gonna get yo ass if you keep throwing these rocks”
Questionable parenting aside I’m really impressed with all the different jobs she had and also I didn’t know she was such a drunk.
You know, of all the mom's, she's surprisingly chill. Still awful, but not as bad as I thought.
Compared to the other moms you've listed she's definitely the most tame😅
She tried her best, but still fell short. At least she wasn't abusive like the others.
Maybe it's because I have a parent with similar issues, but she seems the most tame and... I guess "human" of all the parents on these lists? Like, she's an absolute wreck and a mess of a parent, but some part of her kind of tried to do the right thing. Sometimes.
This is pretty tame compared to some of the other moms you've made videos about.
The art of putting Swearengen from Deadwood and it still looks like him here is insane. 😂
Best animation man! Keep it up!
You don't get named Calamity for nothing

A lot tamer then most other moms, as at least she knew her daughter needed stability even if her rep ruined it
LETS GOOOO ANOTHER EPISODE OF MY FAVORITE EXTRA HISTORY SERIES 🎉
Was that Al Swearengen I just saw?

It's amazing the sort of people who become famous sometimes.
Was it known back then that alcohol consumption during pregnancy increases the likelihood of birth defects and infant mortality?
Best Mom from Sikh history: Rani Jind Kaur who protected her son Maharaja Duleep Singh from the British and was jailed by the British but was released and went to Nepal but cried for days to see her son who captured by the British and sent to England and turned into a Christian and shaved his hair which is against Sikh faith. She became blind from the crying but saw her son but she felt that her hair was short and told him that she would be glad if you were martyred in battle against the British instead of turning into one.❤❤❤
Eternal Anglo has no conscious.

"She needed stability... in DEADWOOD."
A rare case of a mom being shitty not by being directly abusive and an awful human being, but by simply being unfit to care for a child.
I love this series so much
i looove the history being fun and enjoyable
We watched ur video in history class ur really cool!
I'm sadly surprised almost nobody seems to really be aware she was dealing with an addiction? People here talk about alcohol, or being "chaotic" but I just saw one single person saying addiction once. We are talking about someone dealing with an illness basically, and addiction is no joke or just being "wild" or "irresponsible". It's much more than that. While it's right to acknowledge the impact the hardships had on the daughter and not to minimize them, it's also right and necessary to not *minimize* addiction.
Al Swearengen was a nice touch😂
If that's all she's guilty of I wouldn't put her on this list. Cause she really did try but addiction is a hell of a thing to fight
The OG of all the mothers we see in Blue Cam youtube channel today.
