the German goals were very beautiful to watch
Not a suprising result. USA youth teams have been struggling at WCs for the last 6 years. And Germany's youth teams continued their consistent beating of USA at youth level in this decade.

Everyone is saying the USA team were bad, but you obviously didn’t watch the game. The team is actually very strong and played well, particularly in the first half. It just so happens in this case that the USA aren’t always the best at everything (shock horror!) and there are actually other teams out there who are better than them!
I literally just said the same thing, I'm a German and I think USA could have won. Their luck just wasn't there and the execution was really bad, they had like 26 shots.
I agree with you. I thought the USA team looked great in the first half. They had some very creative play that got through the German defense. Bad luck of hitting the post, etc. Germany deserved the win due to their precision when finishing, but the 4-0 score isn't a true representation of the game as it was nowhere near that lopsided. I can't say the same for the Korea DPR versus US game though. In that game the USA was clearly outmatched. I also feel bad for Fontes in that it seemed a lot of pressure was put on her to pull a rabbit out of the hat. She is a great finisher but you can't expect a single player to turn the tide.

Messi19 I actually live in New Zealand, so in fact have no biases toward either team - from what I could see it was a good game for this level of football. You have to remember that these are 16 and 17 year old girls, they’re not going to be the most skilful or incredibly “good” games and I think that compared to the 5 or 6 other games I’ve watched (including the U17 ferns games), the USA didn’t play badly. Of course you can have your own opinions though :)

You obviously didn't watch the game, USA U17 had the most shots in one game in the whole tournament like 26 shots and they could have scored like 10 goals, their luck just wasn't really there. They played well but the execution was just bad.

The Solo Well, you see...That’s because they are lol. Like how does our keeper miss that first goal? That’s a routine save for any goalkeeper. A 5 year old would’ve hustled over to where the ball was heading and have kept it out. On top of that, our defending not only in this game, but throughout the tournament has gotten increasingly suspect and our forwards haven’t done much in terms of creating and scoring goals. If this is the future of the Women’s National team, enjoy them while you can because there looks to be a lot of painful years ahead for the squad.

I'm going to criticize heavily the pathetic way the USA has played in this tournament. i understand that these are girls under 17, but the US women football is in terrible shape after the current generation of accomplished winners retires. I won't go into the girls very poor technical abilities, lack of stamina and physical inadequacy to play 90 min of football. I'll just mention a complete lack of understanding of football, all the time incorrect decisions to whom to pass and when, watching the ball instead of the player, guarding the dead spaces instead of the attacker, while defending; dead places don't score goals, but the opposite team players do, not doing any high, up field press, not using the wings to spread the defense, lack of understanding of the middlefield player's role - the most crucial role in football, and so on. It looked like the US girls played some other game, definitely not football.
I have to blame the coach for this debacle. It's up to the coach to teach the players and it's been a complete failure. I couldn't watch the misery. Yah you can lose to a better team, no shame in that, but USA showed such poor form and complete lack of the game knowledge. It's mind boggling!!! Who is their coach? Has he played football ever before? This is just terrible!
