The explanation of 'WHY' things work is exactly what I needed. I've yet to see another channel describe 'why' so well. Especially for 3D items. Thank you for that! PS. I'd love to know more about what each slider does when making adjustments, and why it works.
I never even imagined I could learn 3D editing! This was a dream for me... But I wanna thank u so much for teaching me this concept of 3D Camera Movements!!! You are Amazing!!
Patrick, I have been watching so many videos in trying to get a handle on the 3D space. Yours is so good for multiple reasons. 1. You don't skip over little but important things 2. You speak clearly and the sound quality overall is great. 3. Even the quality of video is crisp so I can actually see what the nodes say. 4. You explain WHY!! I've got to hand it to you. you're really good at this. I'm sure you'd much rather be doing your work but I am so grateful for this video. I've been hacking my way through this. But now I can see a clearer path. Thank you!
Thank you so much! Having played around in the Fusion window a bit now, I was lacking the basics of how to navigate the view in 3-D space using the different mouse buttons, and also it was great to have the tip of clicking on a node and then another tool to have it appear complete with connector straight away. That saves a ton of time right there. So thank you for your explanations - just exactly the right speed for me to get a lot out of this. Also the thing you have chosen to do is complex enough but also simply enough that you can see what’s going on, unlike a lot of the tutorials I have seen where people go complicated way too quickly. Didn’t know about the focus shift thing either - that could be useful. Have to have a play now!
Great video Patrick. Watching your content has given me the confidence to try out lots of different effects that I wouldn't have thought I was able to grasp. Thank you 🙏😊
Hey man, you're absolutely killing it, with a few more people like you, pumping fusion tutorials out there, we'll throw after effects out of business! Fusion is THE MOST UNDERRATED SOFTWARE IN THE MARKET🔥
Man.. This is so useful, I can't wait for more fusion effects. PS_ I used the DVE node to achieve the same effect for one image/video only, and I was wondering how to do that for multiple images, and now I know.. Thank you man 🙏
You make great tutorials dude. Weird question will you be playing PoE 2 when it releases. I've seen you edit it in your videos. New season coming next month!
Hello, i've liked alot the way you explain the things and the actions of every node, is hard to find someone how actually knows how to deliver information in the good way, new subscriber!
@@PatrickStirling no thank you! I'm new to DVR and was totally lost on how to create within the 3D scene (like in space) in my filming That was the most simplistic explanation of using the 3D nodes. I'm really excited. I'm just hoping I have enough GPU N Ram even at lower Rez 🤔 it seems like this is gonna take a lot...
Got a great idea only tobad davinci doenst has splines as far as i know but ill try some without it and combining this with youre 3D world man just wait till im done with this project
Great tutorial. Been looking all over for a tutorial like this. Question. Is the following possible: Let’s say I have a graphic of the exterior of a house. The house has an open window. Can the camera go through the window into the Living Room - leaving the exterior of the house behind while exploring the living room. Thanks again. I will be checking your other tutorials. …Rowby.
What do you do when you pull a clip from the media tab into the fusion/node section and nothing appears? Like, all I see is a dotted line rectangle box, then it disappears.
Hey Patrick, is there a way to use a camera in fusion to zoom in/out on layers below it in the edit timeline? For example, an adjustment layer could "zoom in" but everything just ends up looking pixelated, so I was hoping to use a camera function to keep things crisp while also implementing 3d movement (VS just X & Y movement in an adjustment layer using keyframes) -- thx!
One more question. I’m trying to do this with svg files. Unless I’m doing something “wrong”, I seem to only be able to connect one SVG file to the Merge3d node. Any thoughts? (If I figure it out I’ll update this comment.). Thanks Rowby.
Hey Awesome Hooman! mine isn't coming up with micro tool 1? is that another thing i need to download ? if so where can i download it ? please help me! :)
question : Camera in DavRes can only go to 0.05 so it erases Images thats to close.. How did you deal with that for the intro?(when cam goes close to the image on the right)
If you're on the edit page most fusion effects should cache which will help playback. Inside fusion you can toggle off HQ and motion blur and turn on proxy mode by right clicking just under the viewer 👍🏻
did you watch this video? this is the method that I would recommend for the thing you're trying to do instead of what I used in the transition video. the distance between the keyframes on the camera will dictate speed
@@PatrickStirling I did indeed watch the video and I can control the Y axis and X axis, as well as the Z axis, however, the speed in which they move I still could not figure out...perhaps I'm missing something here. Could you timestamp the part that explains how to control the speed of the camera? I'm clearly not seeing it. Thank you.
I had a question! I have a little pop animation saying to go follow. I’d like to have the clip be behind and blurred behind it while it does the animation, then animation disappear, then the video play right after that. How do I create, I guess like a mini freeze frame of the video while that plays then play right after that?
that would be a little tricky to all do in one fusion effect. most likely I would handle the pause of the footage on the edit page and apply a title over that
@@PatrickStirling how would you add the edit the pause? I have the video file for the pop up notification. So I feel like it’s be as easy as just adding a timeline to it?
Hey Patrick sorry to bother you but google isn't helping and I'm far from being good with technology. Every time I download Dainvi from their site the compressed file the status has a red X and when I download Davinci it says I need to go to project files and reroute everything. I have tried 3 or 4 times now, would you please help me?

Anyone can learn! Thanks for much for checking out the video. Hope the rest are as useful 🤘🏼

Awesome technique for a cool effect man, I love it and will use it at some point hopefully!
I love 3d stuff, but I can't use them in davinci, because I don't know how, thanks for the tutorial, helped!
it's super fun to dive in and start messing around. good luck!
great video bro! keep up the good work
I don’t even know where I would use this but it’s cool as hell
Great video and i have learned something thank you!
Thank you for the very understable exaplanations WHY you need those nodes
Impressive what can be done. Reminds me of old bbc effects that were achived decades ago.
This F'ing rocked! Well done!
Genuinely awesome, perfectly efficient tutorial
Thanks!
Thank god you mentioned the keys for rotating in image plane... I was workin on laptop thanks man

More of what specifically? Always open to input 👍🏻
the 3d domension is really cool
Great video. I like playing with 3D space but my slow PC and own creativity holds me back..
I subscribed because of this tutorial exactly I needed. - Thank you
Another awesome video.
Thanks!
so I don't need to learn after effects or blender jus fusion?
Nice, good explanations. I wish you had rendered this scene and showed the end result in the end
great point. definitely something I'll try ton bring back in future videos

How do you play specific videos at a specific time in fusion?

What is the different of Clip Tracker and Frame Tracker in colour tab? Can you PLEASE explain it?
Is there a plug in for Davinci that adds 3d cities like Max Novak did in his video on CZcams?
you can natively import 3d models into the fusion page, so you don't need something like element3D
@@PatrickStirling Perfect. Thank you for response Patrick. Where would be the best place to find 3d models such as cites, buildings etc?
is there a way to add some noise to the cam so it doesnt look too computerish?
Hmmm. I'm pretty new to this. Moving my camera around does not show me the video clips. I cannot see any video.

Any suggestions on how to stop fusion from studdering?

Is there a way to apply a 2d macro after the imageplan3d but before the merge3d?
How about you updates the preset for CZcams #shorts so its not just a adapted version for Tik Tok as a new Buy you a Coffee project.?
Hey Patrick Fantastic tutorial. Is it possible to extrude a video clip ? Thanks from italy - subscribed and like for you
Wounderful Video Patrick! I just have a question. Is it possible to use a .png or .jpeg impage for a background instead of the grid, and if so, how?
you can place anything in 3d like an image by adding it to that image plane node
@@PatrickStirling Thank you!
Can this also work in the free version of davinci resolve please?
Yes!
@@PatrickStirling thank you so much for this tutorial. Currently practicing now.
But how do you change the speed of the camera's movement? I couldn't seem to figure that out.

your render is slow due to using software render instead of hardware. try to change it and you will see a difference :)
But requires a powerful hardware.
