Original battle theme w/ Golden Sun soundfont

- So I recently played through GS 1 and 2 for the first time in like 10 years, and got a powerful reminder of why I loved the series so much. I downloaded the ripped GBA soundfont as a sf2 file and thought it would be fun to use it in a project. It's not entirely in Sakuraba's style, but I wanted to do something a bit different and experimental, building on a sketch I had laying around from 2011.

As a child, I always dreamed about some scripted duel between Isaac and Felix... And this perfectly suits that scene in my head.
Congratulations: your song is not only amazing, it could sneak in the OST from the Golden Sun series and nobody would notice that it isn't part of it!

The game was a pretty solid RPG back in the days but the OST is definitely still one of the best ever made for an RPG

Woah I click on this vid, and am surprised by the quality of the song. Then I take a look at who uploaded it.. It's YOU! I used to watch your vids a lot, years ago.. Also inspired me to get a keyboard of my own and start practicing my piano skills. I bought it about a year ago now.. And I'm still a huge noob but having lots of fun practicing, with dream of being able to play GS songs like you one day!

I recently started replaying GS 1 as well. I never finished it back in the day but I've caught up to where my old save file left off so it's going to be a weird mix of nostalgia and new experiences from here on (kinda like this video in odd a way).
You've got some treats in store for you then! I had forgotten so much of the second game's plot that it became almost like a fresh experience. And all the more sad towards the end when you know it's gonna be over...

@@Saturos02 keep it up tho! I used your playthrough of Sol Sanctum to learn it on guitar right before covid and it taught me some really sick basic 2-3 string sweeping at the time. Working on a very heavily motoi inspired album at the moment, current song im working on has similar time sig and motifs to Mars Lighthouse!
Yeah he makes some great stuff too, found him a few years back.
It's a decent first attempt at writing music I guess? The melody is erratic, aimless, and utterly forgettable from the second it stop playing.
Please try to write a song from memory from one of our great composers (Sakuraba, Meguro, Shimomura, etc etc.) to get a decent understanding of all that goes in the writing process.
Does writing from memory really improve composing? Just curious because I would like to start composing myself.
