    My son and I applied this technique for the first page of our own pop-up book. Can't thank you enough for your great explanation and tutorial, sir! 🙏

    We need to have the mesurements of the width of the pages because the slits must be calculated from the center, where the strips fold (6cm from the center of the folded page then 9cm further). I just made my 1st prototype of the pop-up with 1 mechanism on each side of the folded page and photo spaces for scrapbooking photo album. Thank you very much! ;-)

    I bought your pop up designs and paper mechanics book to assist me with the videos in making interactive albums and hopefully some basic pop up books for the new members of my family.
    I am medically retired and find the destraction of crafting therapeutic but have to do it in small sections sadly and find your book very very easy to follow with additional technical info not covered here and this saves a great deal of money on dies for these interactive elements and also with no the size restrictions.
    It is very satisfying to know that there is still something I can contribute to my family, thank you for greatly assisting in this

      For waving mechanisms probably the simplest is explained in Tutorial 15 - tutorial 58 is quite easy too. Hope it works for you!

    This mechanism is also used in Alice in wonderland by Robert sabuda.

    • @thepop-upchannel4919
      @thepop-upchannel4919  Před 4 lety +4

      It's not the same mechanism - the one in Alice in Wonderland lifts up, it's a little more difficult.

    Thank you for all the lovely tutorials, really appreciated.
    Does the first part (9cm) have to be bigger then the second part (7cm) to make this straight extension mechanism work? I tried to make one where the first part is less, but looks like it does not push the last part (with the slit) outwards.
    Regards, Dennis

      I'm not sure. I work things out by experimenting - if it works, Great - if it doesn't work, try some different dimensions. Sounds as though your experiment shows that the first part does need to be longer.

    can the straight extension be put on the page at an angel?? like can it extend towards a corner instead of perpendicular to the gutter?

    • @thepop-upchannel4919
      @thepop-upchannel4919  Před rokem

      Yes. Tutorial 9 explains the "Strap" - this can be used to create a gully that is at an angle to the central perpendicular gutter. Build the extension onto the new gully.
