The uk was doing shit due to the socialist labour government of the early 70's, we were basically cattle herded into the EU to save our arse from our own government.
The french blocked us joining prior to this too, people seem to forget this.

History is a lesson not only to learn about the past but also to learn how to solve future problems, because as they all say "History is repeating throw centuries".
The past 15 years EU reminds me the era of the "Hellenic world" before the civil Peloponesian war.
The Greek - cities always declared wars each other, then Persian Empire invated the Hellenic World so the major Greek-cities formed an alliance. As we all know the Greek alliance won the Persian Empire.
Then the Greek-cities stoped fighting each other and started to strenth their ties, like EU.
But after some years of peace, the major Greek - cities (Athens, Sparta, Thives, Corinth) wanted to take control of this Hellenic alliance. They started to insult each other, stopped helping each other and form new alliances inside the Hellenic alliance.
The result was the rise up of nationalism among the Greek cities and to start the civil Peloponesian war that weaken all the Greek cities, something that ended the era of Greeks.
Today we have EU which formed to bring peace in Europe. But after the entry of 10 new member states from Easten Europe, the financial and refugee crises the facts reminds me the days before the Peloponesian war..
States insults other states, major European powers trying to form alliances inside EU in order to control other states, narionalism is rising up again very fast etc etc

The Benelux Union is a politico-economic union and formal international intergovernmental cooperation of three neighboring states in western Europe: Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg. The name is a portmanteau formed from joining the first few letters of each country's name-Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg-and was first used to name the customs agreement that initiated the union (signed in 1944). It is now used more generally to refer to the geographic, economic, and cultural grouping of the three countries.
The Benelux Union was the first. It's probably no coincidence the EU Treaty is signed in the Netherlands and the EU headquarters is in Belgium.

I don't get why people blame the EU for Germany and France's high influence. You are aware that in any geopolitical scenario influence will always be in place, yes? Look at the UN. Are you telling me that it's not biased towards the most powerful states? At least the EU is better managed and does actually benefit member states. Even if the EU weren't in place Germany and France would still be widely influential.

No. It's a step away from democracy. Every referendum they held on the formation of a European trade union met with at least 70% democratic opposition. So the bankster puppets just signed the Lisbon treaty behind everyone's backs. Now, years later, the value of our money is steadily heading to zero, as it's backed by nothing but the trillions of debt this system generated, while the bankster criminals just keep appointing each other. The EU is literally just a bunch of ex-bank employees appointing each other, without any democratic input, that gave themselves the 'right' to tax an entire continent, basically. Nothing about it is democratic. This unelected scum keeps getting us involved in wars no European wants, with OUR money. They keep imposing taxes on everything, while exempting themselves from even national taxes. This is a group of textbook counterfeiting, billionaire frauditor thieves who literally supported Mao back in the day. The EU is an economic serial killer with a pedophile smile on its face.

I mean we have no whatsoever documentary, indipendent video or anything that makes some EU propaganda. I remeber once i wanted to watch a movie bout the EU thinking that the first world economy had already released a film about the glory of the Union. Nothing. The only thing that resembled a cinematic product was a mockumentary about a failed EU. I mean wtf. Also because in general terms freedom of speech is when you hear both sides of the story and of haters we already got alot. So EU make a God damn movie!!!

I think it should be investigated if the European Union now and then is legislated with the Bible written as a story. The word immunity (Latin immunitas, freedom from obligations to the state) comes from a religious revelation from the middle ages, most likely from a pope to become lawless, and which has since been rewritten into full immunity, personal and functional immunity (legally, cannot be prosecuted for criminal act) to the kings (head of state), presidents, and prime ministers, for law decisions and actions. The political exploitation of the vital ecosystem has now led to forest death (force majeure) and how will it affect people's economy, etc.

People claim such errors shows that the EU doesn't work, but honestly every new thing must go through such errors to improve.
