I’m female, I used to wear Paco Rabanne pour homme once upon a time and thought I was daring & androgynous (think David Bowie...) whenever I put it on back in the day. Now I can’t abide it at all, go figure...
My husband is a really classy guy, imo, and he loves to wear Givenchy Gentlemen as well as vintage Versailles pour homme. Whichever one he chooses, I think he smells divine with either of them. My personal favorite of the two, though, is without a doubt, Versailles. Very old school, very elegant, long-lasting but sadly, discontinued & often hard to find.

Fahrenheit has stood the test of time due to its extremely unique formula. Probably should have let her smell Lagerfeld against some of the others because its sweetness has transcended better than some of the other powerhouse types. Fun video! Inspired me to break out my Antaeus!

That being said I didn’t smell much of the ones that where made from 2010s and I heard those didn’t smell enough like the original but that only in the last few years like 2018 and up did they make it smell more like the original. My bottle I bought a few months ago smells pretty close to the original

I sprayed it and them smelled it about an hour later and it was better than when in college. So you have to get pass the initial old man vibe I guess. I also have the original YSL Opium pour home. I wonder if you would find it too retro!

reminds you of sauvage and costs 5-6 times less. well that's good stuff:) . i mean , most of the people that watch this kind of videos are people working on minimum or slightly above minimum wage maybe up to medium but still struggle , so giving information like this is VERY helpfull :) . you should do videos like that from time to time, like once in 2-3 months , about fragrances that are MUCH cheaper and remind of very xpensive stuff . also, big thumbs up for MrSmelly from me for liking old school frags.I also love them and never miss a chance to get vintage bottles.in the mall in my town once per month you can find people that sell vintage things of all kinds laying them on carpets on the floor and you can get old books, ashtrays , pictures and yea, fragrances. in their original bottle with the original juice inside.the whole place smells like you entered a bubble back in time and you are in an old mansion in the library smelling an old good quality congnac near some dusty books and smoke a cigar.honestly MANY times i just got myself 3 cups of coffe at same coffee shop just cause it was 10 feet from the vendors and i wanted to spend 2-3 hours there reading news or something on my phone and have that feeling around me of vintage.great stuff.

A very nice episodes. Okay, I'm going to do everyone (all y'all who loves these 70s/80s manly-man power cologne that still manage to retain a gentleman's refined aura...and smell fantastic!) a huge favor and tell you two brilliant, underrated, overlooked gems that don't cost an arm and a leg. Here they are:
    1. Ho Hang Club Balenciaga - you can pickup a 50ml unboxed bottle here in a States for around $25. Surprisingly, it's expensive in the UK much like Cologne of the Mission is cheap over there yet expensive over here. Go figure!
    2. Maxim's Pour Homme - about $30 for a 50ml bottle.
Offhand, I don't know how these two aren't right up there with Chanel Antaeus.

I like the smell, and will wear it around the house, but for some reason, I still find it the most difficult old scent to wear out. Maybe it is because it was SO overused in the 80's. Many of these other fragrances smell old school, but Polo just smells old, and there's a good chance you smell like someone's grandfather. I guess you could say the same about Drakkar; heck, in the late 80's/early 90's the air outside smelled like drakkar. Cars had drakkar air fresheners...however, if it weren't for the scent memory associated with it, I don't think it's THAT dated of a smell.

I store my fragrances in the fridge. They don’t get funky smelling, keeping their original scent. I still have my Lauder for Men from 1990 and & my Givenchy Gentleman from 1994. Both have their ‘new bottle’ scent. Keeping fragrances in the fridge prevents evaporation of its alcohol base. Just a suggestion.

I get far more compliments from Original Polo than any modern cologne both from older and younger females.

To me, LAUDER for Men from Estee Lauder. A scent not to be missed. Its quality is beyond words.
Another choice is Un Homme de Charles Jourdan. How was it possible to let this masterpiece disappear?

Givenchy Gentleman and Ted Lapidus Lapidus are my dad's signature scents. I love those two. At least the vintage ones. The newer reformulations smell very similar but mixed with water. Ie performance is now abysmal
