- Final Fantasy 16 recently release their last DLC which is an expansion called The Rising Tide. It features new gameplay, content and boss fights like Leviathan. Leviathan's ultimate or tsunami attack is one of the deadliest phases to go through in FF Mode / Final Fantasy 16 Mode. Things you should know during the phase is:
- Spitflare whenever its available, use brimstone when up close and charge it to the red range for a high damage output
- Dash to Leviathan by using Wildfire when you pushed back
- Do precision dodges then counter attacks to do more damage
- When doing a combo with Ifrit, hit square (light attack) 4 times then triangle aka the burst finish (heavy attack)
I've learn some strats by @meloo's leviathan boss fight. Thank you for sharing your strategy, helped a lot for my run.

Not sure if I'm not the only one who struggled figuring this out, but thanks to @meloo's video and sharing the strategy. I was able to finish this boss fight on the spot for the first playthrough. I hope this short guide does help for those who stumble upon this and have issues on this phase. This was the only phase I had difficult time with to be frank with you. Remember to drop a like and subscribe as there will be more Final Fantasy 16 content coming on the way. Also I am quite curious how people felt about this fight or this phase particularly, feel free to comment!
Took me legit an hour to beat that fucking tsunami move
😅😅its alright, it was a bit confusing to understand what you would be doing wrong.
I got my d**k paddled by this phase. I almost raged by the amount of times I almost beat it but was a little short and died.
Yup somehow I managed to get a 3rd spitfire right at the end. And it's slowed time just enough.. and I found simply rotating attacks 1 and 1. And holding down during tyenpower attack. I legit tried for an hour one afternoon. Tried the next day and got it my 3rd time. More brutal was obviously being flung into the next phase. Thankfully if you die you get you healing reset haha. It's very much about anticipation of his moves.
Thanks my dude, with your help I grilled that fish
glad this video helped! 🙏🏼
For how much of a cakewalk ff16 is I'm shocked by how difficult this is lol
I don't know why people complain about that. Yeah, it might have been a little easy, but if you played in the final fantasy mode, it's not quite as easy but either way, it's still a blast to play as( in my mind). The best protagonist in final fantasy history. definitely the most powerful protagonist... Clive was a blast to play as. The story was really good as well. And who doesn't like going through and using all his abilities and just whooping that ass?
@@danshotguns4226 agreed. I don't understand the hate that ff16 gets. It immediately became one of my favorite games of all time and I enjoyed it the whole way through getting the platinum trophy and all the dlc trophies
Thanks mate 😊
That part was brutal. Took me a day to beat.
This fight, no joke, took me 2 and a half hours cause i was just stuck. I was charging attacks and precision dodging and countering but to no avail. It wasn't till i just said F it and backdraft combo and stopped worrying about literally anything else. my health was gone and I had no heal BUT I DID IT
PERSEVERANCE >
I know theres a lot of weird unexplainable hate on this video but i just wanna say thanks for uploading this, died to it 3 times and decided to look for a video this was one of the only ones
For anyone else curious my issue was 1. Using shield to block instead of damage, should be obvious but you gotta just use it as a dmg move 2. Didint know the optimal combo route, as he said 4 basic attacking with a fire burst at the end will do insane damage and get you that little bit you need before tsunami. Saved me with those 2 tips, thanks again! Fun fight
the weird hate comments are present here is maybe because everyone is just probably frustrated with the phase and hopped on here immediately 😂😂
well i'm still having trouble i'm barely able to do the brimestone movie and it wont let me use that beam move soon enough on the third attempt
No… the village, is in my nightmares
🤣
Admittedly this phase got me the most retries since I was going for the medal of valor, although I would immediately dash at the shield and use brimstone since it has much more damage and faster cooldown.
i'll try that if i ever go for a replay for sure. i remember i did do that for this fight, but the tsunami was faster than my damage output.
@@yozoradreamz yup the dps check sucks especially for me since im too lazy to grind for levels 🤣 so what I did is to just pad my attack stats to 1k using genji gloves, badge of might tier 2 and 3
The combo that got me over this. Jump (X): Melee(Square), Melee(Square), Melee(Square), Fire (Triangle), Fire (Triangle). 2-3 of those combo fireballs in between the Spitfire and Brimstone allowed for a 3 round of each special to finish this phase off.
on my first go it took me ten tries
after watching this
just two
Destroyed the bubble when it was on 1 second xD third time
In this part he kill me five times in the six try i cast on the beginning the fireball and full spam i just break their armor before one second left he cast tsunami i thought i had a luck
This mf got me 3 times with this, then once with the hurricane thing, then a laser
Let me tell you this this is the hardest boss in the whole game right after omega weapon. My god Leviathan is no joke at all and it took me over an hour to kill him. I never gave up and kept trying. I died so many time and lost count after words.
@retrosal2263 I beat Omega weapon on the first try on Final Fantasy Mode, but I tried to beat Leviathan for about 2 hours on July 4th and then about an hour today. Unless there's a future patch to nerf this fight, I'm not wasting anymore of my time with it. That timed DPS check is such a stupid and cheap way to compensate for a lack of challenging mechanics that encourage a skillful and tactical approach to winning.
Is there a way to replay this eikon fight?
Yeah in arcade mode, but you need to play through the whole dungeon with Timekeeper first.
Why the fuck would you want to replay
My fuckin thumb after almost getting it...
I am doing exactly what everyone is saying but still, there's always that tiny bit left and it's killing me. I'm inclined to throw sth from the balcony (not myself😂)
try to equip accessories that boost ur strength?
Haha great difficulty spike there.. hardest boss in game
This fight was fun except for this part, man is it brutal
I’am at level 54
I need help
Me to im there now😂
People never show what level they are...I am level 52, everything runs perfect. I get wiped out doing the last spitfire as the animation takes too long...
this on FF Mode, i was around level 94-96 during the fight with the most updated gear. even if you can argue that i was underlevel, theres no optimal way to level up but do side quests. would love to know though if there is an actual way to level up without doing side quests.
I died once on final fantasy mode and on my second try, I beat it with 1 second left.
This shit on final fantasy mode is fucked beyond belief
This fight sucks arse
This is the dumbest phase in any boss fight in the history of boss fights. I hate when developers create false difficulty with shit mechanics.
What a shit boss, quitted it after 4 try. No idea what im doing wrong, literally doing that what on video and still cant destroy barrier
Way too hard. It kept wiping me out easily with tsunami
besides tsunami being terrible, the music was 🤌🤌
100% 😎
Titan fights are so boring boring, I just rather do the regular boss fights. Cut scenes are great. Like the story
What a stupid phase
All the “press the attack” bosses in this game suck ass because it’s all damage checks. One of the worst designs, especially in FF mode. That said, managed to do it shortly after. Its always annoying af on every boss though
Passed it, kept dying to the watersprout in the next part so decided to take a break and switched off the game. Came back, save is right at the start of boss. I’m done with this, the worst boss design in existence.
i just think the health's way too high, wouldn't been as painful figuring this phase out if the health was lower. the rest of the other phases were fine tbh, its possible to dodge the attacks. im aware the phases are more demanding and strict for dodging but something everyone has to expect for the final dlc. its nice to see them push the mechanics much more.
@@yozoradreamz I took a break and entered back with a clear mindset and got it all done with just 1 retry. I was pushing it on the health towards the end though, I lost most of my heals straight after the watersprout attack cause he literally chains all his specials together.
But I got it done, just got the odd bits left to clear for my 100% again.
It’s not bad once you get the hang of it but man it’s always a pain figuring out the way to fight these bosses. When I see DPS Checks, I just think of Destiny 2 raids LMAO
Hate thia bit, dont see why it has to be so bloody short
Just learn Ifrit's most basic combos and you're good to go. I don't get what the problem is.
clearly not the case if others were doing that lmao, its a little bit more than that 😅
such a horribly horribly designed segment. who on earth thought this would be fun lol like what
Im from loving this franchise to hating this franchise because of this shitty part bru en im there legit now lol
