    Hate to say I told you so, but 🤷‍♀️ You're going to run into this over and over, and this is coming from a medical professional. As I mentioned in a previous comment, insisting on specialist care (such as a high risk obgyn) before you even have an issue (or are even pregnant) sends off warning signals to docs. Combine that with the controlled substances you're on and having a port that's not currently under a doctor's care (yet you are still using medically unsupervised), not many doctors are going to want to deal with that. You may consider yourself a "complex" case, but all your recent labs have been relatively normal. So you insisting that you're a very ill, complex case does make them wonder what's going on...could be they think you're fishing for meds and unnecessary treatments.

    • @TheRawLife1
      @TheRawLife1  Před 3 lety +6

      I was told previously by different doctors that I needed a High Risk OB/GYN when we mentioned wanting children. We did NOT ask for it, we were sent to them. We don't show and tell everything on our vlogs, but we are taking the necessary and approved steps to ensure everything is done correctly. My port is not medically unsupervised, our insurance is refusing to pay for the supplies needed to our home health company. Just because I feel good somedays doesn't mean that I am 100% healthy everyday. My labs can be somewhat normal but other days they are abnormal. In the next vlog we will explain in more detail that the doctor made the assumption and accusations that I had fake my lab results.
      I never go in to a doctors office asking for medication, In fact I have made a months worse of medications last several months.

    • @spinstercatlady
      @spinstercatlady Před 3 lety +79

      @@TheRawLife1 have you asked yourself why a doctor would just randomly accuse someone of faking lab work? What type of lab work and for what purpose?That's a very odd accusation for a doctor to make, which only reinforces the idea that you're definitely sending up red flags to these med profs in some way.

    At my obgyn's clinic only the patient is allowed too. I think that's how it is at most places like that because of the virus. It sucks because this is our first pregnancy and I would've liked for my husband to have seen the ultrasound in person but they didn't let him in. I also get a lot of anxiety when I go to my appointments, so having someone accompany me helps me feel more calm but that's not possible anymore because of damn covid.

    I am sorry you experienced this :( I have chronic illnesses, too. When my husband and I were searching for a fertility clinic several months back, we went with the one that was the highest rated. I always go to the reviews, from Amazon to doctors lol! Even if the treatments do not end in a baby, the need and desire to be treating and respected as a valuable human being is indispensable requirement, not option. Best wishes, P & J!

    I think the largest problem here in FL especially at doctors offices is there not all following the cdc guidelines which does create frustration and furthermore confusion, currently I have 3 doctors appointments coming up and only 1/3 require me to go alone into the office . It’s frustrating and honestly difficult to go to one office where their doing the upmost to keep patients safe then going to the next where everyone’s basically doing what they want. I completely get Paul’s anger about the situation though, if something/ ANYTHING at the office changes especially something so drastic as no longer allowing anyone else with the patient you should be notified before hand so everyone knows what to expect nothing more anxiety inducing for me then when something drastic at the doctors office changes and I’m not told

    • @TheRawLife1

    Janiece, I’m so sorry this happened to you. This is such an infuriating and painful and rollercoaster of emotions type pf experience to go through that none of us should have to deal with. I had an allergist (the head of allergy and immunology at LSU 🙃) do this EXACT thing to me. He kicked my mom out of the room then accused me of being mentally unstable and even threatened to get cops involved when all I was doing was crying. He was a nightmare and it is the only appointment I have ever walked out of. You deserve better treatment and a doctor who appreciates your, frankly, impeccable planning. I’m taking notes cause I need to be more organized

    I have gone through that too my friend, it's traumatizing when a medical professional treats their patients with such unkindness,disrespect and no compassion. Your just trying to be prepared and take the best care of yourself possible, she came at you like she was intentionally trying to belittle you and it was uncalled for! It brought me right back to the doctor who said the same thing to me....those people are cowards and they have no business being in the medical field. I'm sorry you had to experience that unprofessionalism and unkindness. Keep fighting for your health until you find a better obgyn. You have support from all of us who have been where you are on this journey. Stay strong and please disregard the comments from those people who are rude and don't know what going through this is like, they have no idea what hell we go through to get the treatment we need, our medical journeys are all different and complex but we also deserve the best care possible!! And we have to fight harder just to get it. Brush the nasty comments off and you keep doing you my friend!! And Paul, hubby said to tell you, he has been in that boat too, and it sucks you cant be there to ease the nervousness for your wife and provide support, because as a husband, you want to protect them from crap situations like that, and when it happens you want too give those people a piece of your mind when they hurt your wife like that, it's a tough situation to be in but he totally understands. Sending you guy's positive vibes and a big hug! Stay strong. 🙌🙏💪👫🙋‍♀️

      I also wish IVF were more affordable. I have a disorder that has only been diagnosed in about 200 people WORLD wide, and I also am diagnosed with infertility. My eggs are messed up, so to have a child myself, they would either be very ill or not make it to term. IVF would be able to prevent the error in the chromosomes from occurring... But naturally trying to conceive just ends badly for me. I have been pregnant 3 times, but have no *living* children.

    Janiece, are you a capricorn?, why I ask is because I'm of the same zodiac sign, and I've being told the very same thing ( something is mentally wrong with you ), and well darlin, maybe there is - cuz when it comes to be insulted and attacked, we can literally go from 0 to 100 like that. We are very gentle and kind individuals, but when we're hurt, that person better watch and look out. I don't appreciate being messed with, and atm I'm feeling like I was the one being attacked, and if I were you, I'd ask for a refund, I'll also report them to ( whichever ) department that's responsible for them, they ought to lose their license for the way they treat you. Don't let this discourage you from being an organized individual/patient, I'm the very same way. Jeniene, let me tell you, I was actually sent to a mental health institution because the doctor in charge of my case and care isn't familiar with the way in which I do certain things, do you know how I got discharged?, I had to literally tell the doctor within the mental health clinic, " the reason why I'm here isn't because I'm crazy, it's because his colleague isn't familiar with my case ", then ask him " how can he do that?, is this the way you treat patients?, I guess he must have realized that a mentally unstable person can't and won't be able to use those words, nor ask those questions, he had no choice but to release me., .... so them telling you, you need to see a psychiatrist is their way of saying "STOP!!!, what you're doing, because you're not educated like us - I've being getting and hearing those words all the time, it's just a deflective mechanism, yuh see - they would never bow to defeat nor admit that they can't, so that is what they use. It's ok, just ( breath, dust yourself off, pick yourself up and start again )
    P.S. It's also a control ploy. No overly prepared person would get that, because they can just throw anything at them and they'll accept, but with you guys, they can't, hense the comment " you need to go an see a psychiatrist " - it's to throw y'all off your guard, and distract you. Don't allow it.
    Be blessed janiece and paul

Take a deep breath, find a new OBGYN and understand that you are not the only one that probably had to deal with her like that. This will be a blessing in disguise because the new OBGYN will have fresh eyes and can take a look at the whole picture. I know a male obgyn could be scary but maybe try for a male. I’ve heard a lot of women prefer a male because they don’t compair their own reproductive system to yours. Just a thought.

      The Raw Life I do not mind if you use that line at all. It does explain the problem perfectly. Being only 25 with RA is hard because nobody wants to believe me saying I’m too young but it is still valid because it is a medical diagnosis. My rheumatologist said that yes it is abnormal but it is still valid. She is amazing and I hope you find an OBGYN that can help you conceive a child. ❤️

That is totally wrong and they should've let him in the room with you and I'm glad you're never going back! I'm glad you stood up to her and I think Paul should go to the management or who is above her as far as the doctor bored or what because that is not acceptable for her to ever treat a patient like that I would write a bad report I bought her and tell everybody never to go to see her again! That is so unprofessional and rude. You have a lot of medical conditions, you are trying to take the best route for you, and your baby. Your planning is important and is a good thing for you and your situation. And drs who dont know how to help or are not experienced in dealing with someone with health conditions they are not familiar with usually go for "theres something mentally wrong with you" or "it's just a mental health issue" verses being honest and saying they are not comfortable with treating you or saying they dont know how to treat you. And honestly you are very lucky to not have had this occur very often because myself and others I know have went through this so so so many times its ridiculous. I hope you find a dr who will help you and who will be the right fit for you because you deserve it. You deserve a dr who will make you feel comfortable and who will listen and who will appreciate that you are taking the initiative to do the planning before you get pregnant to make sure that everything is safe and goes well for you and your baby. Not all drs should be drs... actually a LOT of them shouldn't be. I'm so sry you were treated this way, I've been there and it's an awful, defeating and sometimes humiliating feeling. I was one fired from a new practice bc I asked the new dr if i could record our convo due to a recent brain injury and cognitive problems--i needed something i could refer back to. She immediately got bug eyed and i got the letter 2 days later.
    One app i found helpful was Abridge. It picks up key words in a medical convo that will help you quickly refer back to a particular date of service among other things. I've found that it doesn't pay to ask if you can record the convo, just do it even if you need to be descrete about it. Otherwise it just puts them on the defensive and alters the whole visit and tx of you. Do what you need to do for You. It's not like you're planning on using it for litigation purposes-- then you'd have to make sure if you live in a 1party or 2party consent state.
    I'm glad you stood up to her. Kudos to you. Stay strong and much love to you both!
