A fertility specialist has nothing to do with a high risk obgyn, which is what I thought you were determined to see? A fertility specialist deals with checking to see if you're actually infertile (male and female), and if you've already been told by multiple docs that they see no reason why you couldn't get pregnant then it's unlikely a fertility specialist is going to disagree. Have you even actually tried to get pregnant? If not, then they will recommend you try, and if you have been trying then they may prescribe an ovulation pill.

So the first step in our journey was to be an established patient at a OBs office, which we have. Then start trying to no avail so far. Due to my health and certain conditions I'm currently battling, I don't want to wait the text book 1 year to then start looking at fertility specialists. This appoint was to follow up from June which is 4 months of no success. From here I want to see a Fertility specialist, and thankfully I have already met my new PCP and she agrees with me that now is the time, not 1 year, to see a fertility specialist.

If you were using hormonal contraception before you guys started trying, there's a good chance that's why you are having difficulties conceiving. It usually takes six months after stopping contraception to regularly ovulate and be fertile. 😊 It takes a while for your hormones to balance out and get to the levels needed for a healthy pregnancy. 😊 Don't know if that's something you are aware of or whether you were using contraception before trying, but it's definitely worth mentioning!

My favorite doctor was the one who pretty much just told me that they couldn't do anything to help me. When I was given my genetic disorder diagnosis, I was pretty much told that "hopefully, maybe in a few years, if more people are diagnosed with it, we might know more". Believe it or not, that is a lot more comforting than someone trying to fit your symptoms into a Box of Some Disorder that they already know everything about so they can try to cure you. I don't want false hope, I want the truth and a plan for how to go forward. Doctors should never assume to understand a patient's condition better than the patient can.

One thing I would consider as a fellow chronic illness person is this: are the meds you are on safe for TTC and pregnancy/breastfeeding? I am TTC and undergoing fertility treatments right now, and I have had to discontinue certain meds, switch out others, and there is one main medication I will have to wean off of in the event I become pregnant. Y’all are very prepared, so I am sure you’ve already started planning this as well. ❤️

Wow, nobody should deny you for things like that. Yes, it is dangerous, but it's your choice. People always have this misconception that as a woman you are not allowed to do what you want with your own body. That is a load of bullshit, as a woman you out of anyone should be allowed to choose. Having a baby isn't like a chicken where you pop out an egg and sit on it for a couple of weeks. Having a baby is something that changes your body, in ways men just don't understand. Sometimes, having a baby actually helps your body in ways you wouldn't know it. No one should ever make you feel ashamed, you know your conditions, you know your genetics, and the medical problems, you are aware and are ready to take on the responsibility of living with it when it comes to your children. As a woman, I was very nervous about going to my OBGYN as well, because I had never gone to one and I needed to. I felt ashamed because it was something I had to talk about that I felt was a very private matter. It's already shameful to openly talk about something I consider very intimate with a stranger, but I learned that women, no matter the shape, the size, the race, are all the same in terms of what we go through. I realized that only women know how women are. With that thought, I am not as nervous. To have a doctor, who you go to for something that intimate to bash you for having a child because of your medical problems, I understand their mindset, but that isn't their choice to make. That is yours, as the mother to make, because it is YOUR BODY. You are ready to face those consequences and just try. No one has the right to make you feel ashamed that you are trying to have a child because they believe you don't have the right genetics.

It's been a long time since I watched one of your videos admittedly. I first learned about you and your journey and challenges through Jaquie. Maybe that's why it's been a while. When I see the notifications for your videos, I think of her and how sad it makes me to not be able to look forward to the bright joy that she brought to so many people's lives. But then today, I saw the notification for this video and for some reason it occurred to me that I learned about and came to like your channel through her. So many of the things that I love now, I came to love because of her love. And that made me think that she would be so happy to hear how well you're doing and even though I never knew her personally, I just got the idea that maybe that's really the most important way to see it. To see how good you're doing and even your trials and think that all of the videos of yours and your experiences that I've enjoyed are a type of honor to her. I think she would really be happy to see her dearest sister have so many followers who care for her and how we as followers can help you on your journey by being witnessed to it.
And also helping to bring in those sweet sweet ad dollars to help out as well! ;-)
I love your channel and as someone who has a lot of the same sicknesses, it makes my heart very happy to see some of your burdens lifted. ☺️♥️

I'm so much older than you, Janiece, and have a completely different life, but I adore you. I can relate to you completely regarding the arrogance of doctors and their failure to listen. I'm in NY and it's prevalent here as it is all over the country. I'm curious to watch your vlog tomorrow because you mention discrimination. I know that exists--was it discrimination because you're a woman, a woman of color, or an age thing because you're young? I'm a white woman and have gotten a lot of attitude from doctors as well. I know you keep, good records on your medical, but I would get my records from the doctors office that discriminated against you, before they doctor the records! Also, make sure you get them changed if she said you needed psychiatric work up. Some doctors think they are better than you and have a chip on their shoulders the minute they walk in the room. I had this with a pain doctor. He came in and I let him have it! He acted like I was an addict because I was needing pain medications for my multiple rare spinal diseases. I let him have it with all my knowledge on what is going on in the pain community, showed him my notebook with all my appointments and tests. Brought him info on my diseases and after that his attitude changed. Unfortunately in the pain community they are being policed by the DEA. I told him I was aware of what he was dealing with but I was a legacy patient and the laws protected me. Stick up for yourself! Now that we cannot have anyone in the room with us, they are being bigger bullies! When my husband is there, they treat me completely different!

It is ok to plan it is ok to go to infertility m.d. They know more than reproduction and ivf imo. The concern with planning is getting over stressed is thought to impede natural conception. (though I don’t know the actual research on that) Not on the doctors side, it sounded from your explanation that they went about it 💯 percent wrong. Keep doing you, keep planning and meditate. You r good people and will get through this. Also like my primary said when I was in my late 30’s my mom was “Grammy” obsessed. Nothing she loved more. You can get support outside your original core family for raising a little one. If it takes a village to raise a kid for able bodied people then it is doable if people decide to have a child with some chronic illness folks can do it successfully too. The doctor should 💯 know that and leave their personal opinions at home. I’ve talked surrogate and adoption myself. I have other medical options but because I am personally worried with heart defects and Turners. But others in my position may take those more natural options and I am probably never going to personally. Despite my boyfriend wanting to. I never even took in a man to an appointment. They are ok with it. They treat unmarried and homosexual couples, and on down the line. I live in Seattle. It is our body. Not the doctors. My advice, find a liberal one trained in all kinds of people and families. And you can overcome this. My best advice write down what you’d like to do. Put it on the top paper of your records. I even have it on my digital emergency records incase if I need a girl surgery for polyps or have a cyst and not much time to talk etc ... want them to know. And allow for mind changing over the years. Email Obgyn if you change your mind on your current plan. I did. I am currently tired of getting uterine polyps removed and after 4 years I am more willing now to get a hysterectomy than in my 30’s. Never thought I’d get here. But I am. And my Obgyn knows it. That is ok. I feel no guilt. You do the best you can with the information you and the doctors have at the time. I didn’t even consider kids till I was 30 - 35. So with my early menopause we had to talk quickly with multiple doctors. Most of them were cool with it. Course it causes them stress to see me trying at the last moment for me. But we didn’t even know I had Turners until a smart Obgyn ordered chromosome lab work at 32. So they know none of it is my fault. They got in the business to help us achieve the best base health we can and have a family if we want. Like it is in their job title hahaha. Some of them love the puzzle. Some crack. It is not ok to judge the patients decisions and heart either way. They are there to lay out options and try to help or send you to a doctor who can. Your heart and determination is what will make you good parents. All we can do is what we can do. 💖❤️Best wishes. Hugs!

There's gonna be a lot of people who will tell you how to do things, and that you need to do it this way or that way... I'm 50,and I'm here to tell you, don't listen to the negative Nancy's in this world. I don't care if it's a regular person, family member, a doctor, or a perfect stranger typing out their thoughts on a keyboard. Y'all know what you want, you have a plan, stick with the plan, and tell the nay sayers to stfu. You see, I remember being like y'all.. trying to be nice, pleasant, respectful.. because that's how I was raised. But then I got a slap in the face by reality when an elderly uncle stuck his finger in my face, started screaming at me over some nonsense, finger wagging, spit flying...and nobody did a thing. I provoked him by saying that I liked Starbucks coffee. From that moment on, if people want my respect, they have to earn it like anyone else, and I don't care how old they are. You have to do you💜💞
