Hey I know you're probably a busy guy but I really hope you start uploading again! I've been re-watching all of your old videos and they're amazing! I remember watching them awhile ago and then now coming back I just want to see more content! Love the stuff you do man!!!
That's the thing with apple products in my experience. A lot of things just work and it feels great when they do. And as you said, sometimes you are forced to tinker and find workarounds on windows. But on apple there is a lot less freedom to tinker, so if you ever wanna try obscure things that aren't built in, you may have some trouble.

Yep, that's what I'm discovering too. Tinkering is definitely possible on this mac, but the flexibility and freedom are not the same. It almost feels like I'm in a prison in some ways lol

I’ve used both. Macs are pretty seamless, pcs are nice but requires patience, which I’m sure you know!

I switched from PC to MacBook few years ago - no issues . What model of MacBook did you have and what happened to it?
I still haven't decided if I prefer this to windows, tbh. I have one more day to decide before my refund window closes. I'm leaning towards returning this, but I might still end up getting a Mac. I definitely need more storage space. The thing with windows is...I really don't like the form factor of any of the newer laptops. The weird keyboard layouts drive a stake through my heart. Things seem to be getting less convenient and less intuitive, with the half-sized arrow keys, removal of Home, End, Pg Up, and Pg Dn; function key only on one side, which makes it impossible to access certain functions with one hand...

OK, if you don't want to loose your apps every year, one thing : don't update MacOS. There are plenty of safety features, antiviruses, VPNs, etc... for you to remain safe without the latest OS.
I'll be honest, from given observation, windows could be better to use because it has more storage.
I'm not saying this as a way to discriminate or anything, but I know one of my friends use a Mac and he only has around 100gb, whereas I'm on Windows and I have around 600gb.

@Thad, storage can vary, and some Mac systems have more storage than some Windows systems. However, on Mac systems, the storage is usually soldered in and unchangeable, whereas on Windows, storage is upgradeable. A year ago, I upgraded my old laptop to 4TB. But on a macbook, I'm stuck with whatever I purchase (unless I pay a ton of money or risk breaking it).
windows is usually better to use because of compatibility (it's really universal)
and mac is usually better to use because of usability - the experience is a lot more polished, and if you already have apple products, using them together is pretty seamless. however it's limited outside of what apple wants you to be able to do, for example changing out the RAM or upgrading storage is virtually impossible
if one of your friends has a macbook that's 100gb it either is old or your friend chose the lowest option. macbooks today can have up to 8TB (8,000 GB) if you decide to pay more
