The red dot on the bull represents a five hundred dollar chip. During the rodeo they will place the chip on the head of the bull and who ever pulls it off wins five hundred bucks
they would glue it on a bull?):
EvenWeave It's strapped around the head and under the horns with a string
John Wolf good job cow boy Yi hao
Great way to entice a rider to fall off and get stomped.
i thought it was to cover the gunshot wound lol
lol I used to work as a corrections officer and inmates are insanely creativive and street smart. Sometimes street smarts are better than book smarts.
Thank you for your service. You guys are heroes. You're often forgotten and hated.
@@Arkasha-Z For driving people into insanity just for one possession charge.
@@masonthechemistryfreak6894 that’s what you think everyone in the prison is there for? How about home invasions raping and killing people, child trafficking, kidnapping, oh you know just stuff like that….
@@masonthechemistryfreak6894 clueless hippie
Wow, that comb key is something else!
Torrie Starfrost no it's not it's the same
Torrie Starfrost I can make you one and give it to you when I get parole.
The algorythm is feeding me old CB videos and I am here for it.
I’ve been to the museum a few times, if you look closely at the electric chair. It’s full of blood stains on the straps and wood. The chair use to be the only one in Louisiana, so they would take it to prisons all over LA too execute inmates.
In high school we took a tour of the whole prison except for inside the buildings, we even seen the original death row.
Holy hecc
i went there on a school field trip and actually bought some of the hot sauce. really cool experience, our guide was an inmate who was very kind, and the work the inmates put into things like the rodeo and other crafts they do is pretty impressive
How come you don't have more subscribers? Your videos are awesome! You just earned yourself a new subscriber! :)
That was really interesting.Thank you for taking me along. Its someplace I would otherwise not have gotten to see,as are all of your videos I've seen, now that I mention it. I really like your sense of humor.
@Candy Santillo
Completely Agree! I would never seen or even known about a lot of the places that I Jacob has visited.
I've been to the Angola rodeo many times. The red "dot" on the bull is actually a tag and an inmate tries to grab it off the bull to win the prize. They turn the bull lose in the ring and a group of inmates chases the mad, bucking bull around the arena trying to grab the tag off the bull. It's usual pretty big money to grab the tag so those inmates go all out trying to grab it, they get tossed all around that arena, some of them getting picked up and tossed pretty dam high up in the air. It's a little scary to watch lol. They do the poker table game too. They set a little card table in the arena with 4 inmates sitting around in folding chairs pretending to play poker. They turn a bucking bull lose in the and the rodeo clowns entice the bull to run at and over the table. The prisoners can't jump and run or Dodge the bull, of they get knocked over they can right themselves and their chair but if they run they are out. Last man poker wins the pot of money. Those inmates go all out for that rodeo, they put their hearts into it and they raise and train all the live stock they use in the rodeo.
+Anjie Marie sounds amazing
Honestly the rodeo and other programs can be really good for inmates. Sometimes those things help rehabilitate them. I wish there were more programs to help people.
@thecarpetbagger I really enjoy your videos. I'm 35 an deal with severe travel anxiety I'm able to see things I've always wanted to see through your videos. Thank you and keep up the good work.
Sir, you should go to the Angola rodeo. It's a good time.
Cameron Rowell it really is though, so entertaining
Thanks for this Loove it !
I grew up in Houston, TX close to Huntsville which is prison country. They use to have the prison rodeo with inmates competing,( yes just like portrayed in Urban Cowboy)and my parents took myself and sis. They would also have a concert, we saw The Judds. Crazy to think of now.
I probably shouldn't have laughed to the point of tears but that place was INSANE! Let me medieval axe you a question. ✂🔨⛏🔗💉🏹🗡🔫🛠🔪
+AimlessAdventures the level of violence was intense
My grandpa is in Angola and he performs in the rodeo but he’s supposedly getting out today😊. He. Had 40 years
Jesus tf did he do
Bless his heart! My congrats to him! And I wish a peaceful life for you both!
murder?
Why would he get out if he was in angola??? Tf he needa stay in there
@@michaeltalamo1833 Because by law he either did his time or got paroled for several various reasons.

"Take a look at this inexplicable taxidermy display". Amazingly apt statement!
I love when you do the abandoned places with a good story about them :-)
Not far from my house. Or the myrtles plantation.

would love to go there so interesting thanks for showing us
Very interesting. Thank you for sharing that video.
Nice work, great post..tkz
Jacob! Awesome journey!
This is terrifying and weirdly funny. Thanks for making this video!!
In the very earliest days of angola rodeo, a ticket was placed between the horns of a bull. Inmate who got the ticket then earned his release. Too many died and the practice was discontinued, though i forget which year. Apparently, then they come up with the $500 chip between the eyes.
Wow, that is an amazong bit of information. Thank you for sharing that!
@@twigratterman1617 you're very welcome

Now, THIS is what I love watching you do. Weird places I never could find on my own.
+yakk13 this is what I love doing
I worked as a psych nurse in the past. We treated a number of prisoners. One time a guy made a shiv out of a part from air conditioner in his hospital room. We saw it all in the psych unit.
Woah That key made out of a brush is so cool!!
1:58 it looks like it’s moving

5:58 SO adorable. They love you. ❤
Just been had a blast the Arts and Crafts are unreal everbody needs to go
I used to live in Louisiana, I was 20 years old and it was my first day at my new job at an oral surgeons office. I was a circulating assistant for three doctors and their nurses. My very first patient was a shackled inmate from Angola. I had to take a Panoramic x-ray of the patient and all I kept thinking was, “I’m probably the first girl he’s been around in a while.”🤣
Bro, you seriously need more attention! I love your reviews and blogs!!
Dude he’s got over 400k subscribers lol
Congrats on 30k!

I went to the prison museum outside of the Main Gate at Folsom Prison.
Some great pics of Johnny Cash's visit when he recorded the "Live At Folsom Prison" album ..... plus a stunning array of confiscated shanks, homemade tattoo equipment and nooses tagged with the name, crime and date of execution of the convict it was used on.
Amazing!
I've seen that diorama with the alligator etc in someone else's youtube video lately ?
great video :-)
Great Video , I went there when there was not a barrier around the electric chair imagine what kind of antics prompted them to erect the barrier. thanks Carpetbagger , Erick
+Erick Erickson I wanted a photo op
Totally interesting and totally creepy Jacob. Those beautiful little dogs were yappers xx
“Numbchucks” lol
Great video. Been to the prison rodeo a few times. Good ole state of Louisiana.
Thats wild!
I went to Angola on a field trip during my senior year of h.s. It was actually pretty interesting, and a great way to see prison life in person.
very well done! I can't believe how many weapons those people made! scary!!
Swing back thru downtown Abbeville, AL. The entire downtown area has been transformed back to 40s-50s decor by the owner of Yellawood, Great Southern Wood Products. The main Yellawood office on the notrhwest side of town is an authenic 1950s gas station. Even the new Alabama Power office has a retro neon sign of Reddy Kilowatt.
I love the handcuffs and leg cuffs ball and chain
really cool place cheers
That was sooo cool!
Thx for the warning on chopped up face🤠
You are amazing dude😉
Haha! Best line: I don't want to go in there, I don't want to get shanked....haha
hahaha
dude, I think its pretty cool that you get to go to all these strange museums across the country:)
I went to the rodeo last year, it was insane!
I love museum
i love you omg
Respect.
Very cool 😎
There's a prison museum in Huntsville Texas I wish you'd visit. Texas had a prison rodeo for many years as well.
Was that a real dog? That would push me over the edge
1:35 - I didn't know my mom ran that prision! 😂
Been in there (just visiting). The area is called Angola because the former plantation there was worked by slaves, mostly from Angola, Africa.
I like this intro ❤️
that was awesome.🔪
I’ve been to the Folsom prison while on vacation it was pretty cool
You should go to Huntsville, Texas to the prison museum there.
Just found your channel. Please visit the Texas State Prison Museum & say hello to Old Sparky. Loved all the videos.
The reason the bull has a coin on his forehead is because when they have the rodeo the inmates create their own competitions and one of the games they play is they put a bucking strap on a bull and a coin on its forehead and whoever can retrieve the coin wins $500. The rodeo is so amazing. I would definitely recommend going. It's every Sunday in October.
Hi, love this exhibit. Re.the token on the bulls nose, you should check out the history. I believe they had (as in Spain) bull fighting for prisoners. They had to remove the token without getting killed!
"DO NOT CLIMB OVER" LMAO
That's a crazy place!! Especially the meat cleaver!
I've never seen anyone do a video of this place I've been here and it is actually terrifying did you even go into the prison cause that is a part of the museum where they buzz you through the gate into a different museum and restaurant inside the prison
You should go to the Texas Prison museum in Huntsville Texas
The top scary part was sick I liked it a LOT!😌
My great uncle use to go to the rodeo he said it was amazing and he went to it for years
I worked at a different prison, But we had to go to the Academy there, you can’t see the prison building from the gate! You saw the prison hospital.
I feel like I've seen this before, is this a reupload or did I see it somewhere else? Either way great video Jacob
You may have watched it on AdamTheWoo's channel
The dogs are so so so CUTE
Come to some museums in Texas
Fleece Johnson said hello!
They should make an area in the museum that talks about all the programs and tells rehabilitation atories of the inmates
toilet sinks are actually great for saving water. The clean water coming into the tank can be used for washing purposes ans the dirty water is then used by the toilet to flush.
6:14 looks like a confused face lol
What we have here, is a failure to communicate.
